Partying in Majorca, enjoying its nightlife
If you love a never-ending nightlife, Majorca is your destination. From dusk to dawn, there is a buzzing nightlife in bars and nightclubs which open and close as trends come and go. Nevertheless, there are always iconic venues where you will probably have one of the best nights of your life.
Discos, parties and clubs in Majorca
In the historic centre of Palma, La Lonja district is a labyrinth of medieval alleyways full of bars and restaurants where you can begin the fun. You must visit the small Jazz Voyeur Club (address: calle Apuntadores, 5), with live music, or the surprising Ábaco cocktail bar (address: calle Sant Joan, 1), located in a former palace from the 15th century and with flower and fruit decorations as well as classical music. There is a shower of petals at midnight on Fridays. Do not miss this!
In the small hours, around 2.00, you must go to one of the iconic nightclubs. Spaniards like to linger on at the table after supper, so they go out drinking and dancing later on. If you are not a night owl, you can always go out in the afternoon and evening in the Santa Catalina district on Saturdays after 16.00. This is one way of going out with friends, drinking, dancing and returning home before midnight.
Tito’s, a legendary nightclub іn Palma
Palma’s maritime promenade still provides night birds with the best DJs at legendary nightclubs such as Tito’s (address: Autovía de Poniente, Palma), which has been in that location since 1920. Go up in its panoramic lift, get down on the main dance floor and be dazzled with its spectacular light show. You will probably find your musical genre since the building has several rooms with different settings. Each one has spectacular decorations. It is an iconic nightclub in Majorca, where Marlene Dietrich is said to have finished off its whisky reserves.
BCM Planet Dance, the spectacular nightclub in Magaluf
Nevertheless, the biggest nightclub in Majorca is BCM Planet Dance (address: Avenida Solivera, Magaluf). It has three floors and a terrace with different settings which attract a varied audience. The most famous DJs have performed there such as David Guetta, Deadmau5 and Tiësto. In the Millennium section, the spectacular Foam Party is also held. There the show is served and seasoned with laser, pyrotechnics, dancers and large special effects.
Theme parties in Majorca
The best theme parties are in Alcudia, in the north of the island, at the Banana Club (address: Avenida Tucán, 1). Every summer in the last ten years, it has tried to surprise partygoers, who are always eager for new experiences. You will be surprised with its dance floor: it is a glass pyramid which rocks to the rhythm of the crowd. Its most famous and original event is the Foam Paint Party, where you will be covered with foam and… paint!
Majorca’s beach clubs
Beyond the usual excesses, Magaluf can boast that it has one of the best luxury beach clubs on the island. Nikki Beach (address: Avenida Notario Alemany, 1, Calvià) provides dining, music and live performances. Watching the sunset from a sunbed with a cocktail in your hand is an offer you cannot refuse. It provides both exotic and international dishes. You can start your experience in the afternoon or evening by enjoying the large pool by the sea or end it with a Sunday brunch to the rhythm of the resident DJs.
At the Port Adriano marina designed by Philippe Starck, you can enjoy lounging at the Coast by East beach club (address: urbanización El Toro, s/n) overlooking the luxury yachts. If you feel like dancing, you can do this on the first floor to the rhythm of the international DJs at the Uppereast Mallorca nightclub.
Remember to visit Puerto Portals in Calvià. It is a luxury marina where you can have a drink while watching the world’s largest yachts go by. Order a cocktail at the Paradigm terrace and enjoy the atmosphere. You will probably see a well-known face there since it is one of the most fashionable celebrity haunts.
More nightlife in Palma: concerts and shows
If you want to have a Las Vegas style night out, go to El Gran Casino de Mallorca (address: Avenida Gabriel Roca, 54). It is located at Porto Pi Centro, in front of the ferry terminal. You can try your luck in its gambling hall and enjoy its food at the CDM Café, Moon Cocktail Bar or Casino Restaurant. In the summer, there are also concerts with different music genres.
You can also take advantage of your visit to the island and check Palma Auditorium’s programme (address: Paseo Marítimo, 18). Its location on the maritime promenade makes it an ideal starting point for enjoying the music, dance or theatre shows. The best artists of the moment stop there during their tours around Spain.
Majorca will not let you down if you are willing to go to the most exclusive and liveliest parties facing the sea during your holidays. This is only suitable for night owls who want to see the sunrise!
