What the experience includes
Short-finned pilot whales:
There are only three places in the world where you can find short-finned pilot whales in large groups and one of them is Tenerife. ( Since 2020 the area between Tenerife and La Gomera became part of the Whale World Heritage Site. This is the first whale heritage site in Europe and the third whale heritage site in the world. )
Whale watching has become the second most popular activity in Tenerife. The most common whale is our short-finned pilot whale. It is the smallest of the whales, but it is our guest and resident of the Canary Islands. Whale watching is an essential activity in Tenerife.
Dolphins:
We offer first-hand information about one of the friendliest marine mammals in Canarian waters. Dolphins are often considered one of the most intelligent animals in the world, displaying a social behavior and culture similar to that of humans. Witnessing them in their habitat offers a unique insight into their underwater world, so beautiful and elegant. We like to consider them part of our family.
On board a comfortable sailboat, a luxurious catamaran , we will take you right to the place where the dolphins are. Allowing you to watch them as they play along the coast of Tenerife. These magnificent sea creatures will take your breath away as you approach them in their own environment, creating a memory that will last forever.
The tour lasts approximately four hours, food and snacks are provided. Whenever possible we will set the sails and share with you our passion for sailing. In addition to finding dolphins on our tour, you will also be able to see turtles and other marine life.
What you need to know about them:
We measure intelligence first by brain size and complexity - dolphins and whales appear to have a brain size close to that of modern humans. Observing their behavior - they are self-aware individuals with personality, memory, and the ability to reflect on their own thoughts. This actually fits the definition of a person, and is consistent with the evidence from the brain.
Dolphins are the only species that has a system to measure the distance to objects. The human race has tried to discover the secret, but to no avail.
