Hello Drifter’s Perfect Occidental Cozumel Family Escape

What is it that makes Occidental Cozumel such a great spot for a family getaway?

The amazing staff at this resort makes this such a great spot for families to vacation. They do everything they can to make you feel at home and have the best time! The resort is so easy to get to and once you arrive at the resort you feel like you are in your own world. Even though you are just a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of Cozumel, it never feels that way. The Occidental Cozumel feels like its own little paradise.

What was the most surprising thing about your Occidental Cozumel vacation?

We love to travel as a family and my children have been on some pretty epic vacations, but after coming to Occidental Cozumel our family has a new favorite. Everyone at the resort was amazing and did everything they could to make our stay the best. The entertainment team made the experience extra special for our kids and by the second day we were there they were calling our kids by name. We knew this resort would be perfect for our family, but we did not realize just how special the experience would be for our family. Plus, being an all inclusive resort meant an endless supply of smoothies for the kids!

What was your most unforgettable adventure at Occidental Cozumel? Why did it stand out?

Our most unforgettable adventure was the day we went snorkeling on the Aqua Dream II. We love taking our kids on new adventures and this was certainly new to them. I'll forever cherish the memory of sitting on the front of the boat, with our feet dangling over the bow while watching the flying fish scatter as the boat moved through the water.Our family also loved the nightly entertainment. The first night we were there the resort had a mariachi band with dancers, and the second night the resort had fire dancers.

What was the best thing you ate while staying at Occidental Cozumel?

Everything we ate at the resort was fantastic, but the best thing we ate was at the oceanside restaurant on our first night there. We had a beautiful sunset meal on the beach and the food was fantastic. It was truly an amazing night that won't soon be forgotten.

What tips do you have for a fellow traveler who is planning an Occidental Cozumel family getaway

?Because the Occidental Cozumel is central to everything in Cozumel, do plenty of research ahead of arrival so they have an idea of activities you’d like to do. The possibilities are endless, from deep sea fishing, to island tours, to scuba trips, and the resort can help you with planning all of it.
