    “Simply unbeatable ”

Currently here on a 5 night short summer break booked by chance via voyage prive. To put it simply the whole experience is outstanding. Staff - bar, reception, catering, cleaners and gardeners are all very friendly and attentive. Location - 40 mins drive from airport to an area reknowned for its coast and beaches. The hotel overlooks one of theses divine secluded coves. Food - we have travelled to many locations with a variation in standards. We have not visited anywhere that beats the choice, presentation and quality of food here. All inclusive - we upgraded on arrival; the value of this is very good and choices and brands available are very good eg from cava to Johnie Walker red label. Rooms and facilities - rooms are generous in size pleasantly decorated with good facilities. Most balconies have sea views and of a nice size with ample seating space and external shower (to refresh or wash off suncream - great idea). Two nice pools on different levels and beautiful rockery styled gardens. Adults only with gentle piped music as you sunbathe - total chillville Negatives - only one for the hotel and that being the dreaded locked on wrist band for all inclusive, surely there must be other options in this day and age, perhaps a pic embedded on a card for example being more pvt and discrete and non transferable. The only other thing to consider is the flight to ibiza, 4 warnings from flight attendants before take off warning anyone found consuming their own alcohol ran the chance of no return flight, perhaps a reflection of the clientele on the other side of the island. We very rarely ever return anywhere but we shall certainly make an exception here. Can't wait to come back and we haven't even left yet!

    “Excellent chill out holiday”

We stayed for 10 nights in July at this beautiful hotel. There is a tendency for style over substance in some of the design features with a poorly laid out dining room which is extremely difficult to negotiate when carrying hot plates of food between the two levels. The low hanging light fittings were a constant hazard to both guests and staff! The is a slight elitism here and we have been told by other guests that the the All Inclusive package may be discontinued from next season. The rooms have a modern layout with no actual bathroom but do have an excellent walk in shower room, separate toilet and a very large comfortable bed. The shower on the balcony was very welcome as we had full sun in the afternoon and evening. The deck chairs, though, were not particularly comfortable or easy to get up from. Mine actually collapsed the first time it was used and had to be replaced. The jewel of the hotel is probably the pool area and pool bar, particularly the staff who made our holiday so enjoyable. Despite the fact that there are many areas which could be improved for customer satisfaction, we enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo but would probably not return until we were certain that these issues had been addressed.

    “Wonderful Relaxing Holiday”

Have just spent a week at this lovely hotel. I have never had such a chilled out, relaxing holiday. Everything about this hotel far exceeded my expectations, it was spotlessly clean in all areas, the staff were polite, friendly and attentive, the rooms clean and modern and the food exceptional. I would definately recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to returning.

    “Excellent - Would recommend”

Great hotel. I was worried as I've had bad experiences where a place looks nice and then disappoints... but not this time! It's great; clean, comfortable, friendly & I would recommend the all inclusive as the food choices were 10/10. Check in was easy, quick with really nice staff. We arrived early and could go to the room straight away with an upgrade as well! We booked a sea view and the view was really pretty. The hotel is set in a U shape with the pool in the middle; I think most rooms would have a sea view but I suppose with this option you pay to be higher up. The room was really nice. All spotless and brand new. Great shower and the bed was so big. All white and it fresh and had a great atmosphere with satellite tv. There are two pools; one with the bar and one with more loungers. It was quiet enough so we could sit where we wanted but not too quiet so it felt isolated and odd! The food was really good. I'm vegan so I didn't expect anything but there was food at the pool bar and the breakfast and dinner buffets had choices that I could eat. The beach bar didn't have vegan food (I didn't expect it to) except the fruit salad. We were all inclusive as we didn't want to worry about anything and even though I couldn't eat a lot of the stuff I would defietly recommend going all inclusive if you can. Really nice, good quality food. I saw some people say that the all inclusive choice wasn't very good... I disagree and there was a lot of good stuff to choose from. Also the drinks on all inclusive were great choices. You can have the cocktail of the day which changes from each bar and there are a lot of mixers to choose from, again changing from which bar you are at. The beach is not private to the hotel and the sun loungers belong to a bar on the beach and cost €7 each a day. We walked over the cliff for 10 mins and there is a tiny stone beach that is really nice and feels isolated... if you aren't sure where it is then walk out in the water of the normal beach (very shallow) and it is round the corner on the right. We stayed 3 nights and this was enough time for what we wanted. If I was staying longer then I would have got a car as it is very quiet (what I wanted) and I would definetly explored the island more. The taxi from the airport cost €50 as is about a 40 min drive. The hotel does offer a shuttle but I think it comes 3 times daily so unless it fits exactly I would just get a taxi or rent a car. I was worried booking the hotel and I read mixed reviews but I think the bad reviews about food choice, air port shuttles and generally about the hotel not running smoothly are unjustified. It's expensive but as you pay that bit more you definetly get what you pay for with a nice, clean environment with great service.
