    “Very disappointing experience in an 'upscale' hotel in Tangere, Morocco”

    Terrible experience with staff regarding check in and reservations. Room not cleaned well before new guest arrival. Staff needed to be more organized and not 'blame' the client for their inability to find my reservations, and provide a second day's room without my having to spend 45 min. in manager's office waiting for room assignment. This should have all been done at the check in desk. Staff was condescending and haughty, with the exception of the one young woman left alone to check in at least 7 guests! Management staff flitted in and out, but offered no help. The front desk staff should also be trained to focus and complete all transactions with each client; not keep them waiting while solving misplaced or malfunctioning key situations, etc.

     Dear Guest, We thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I do apologise and I am shocked to read your comments on your room on your arrival day, I do hope you reported this to our reception team, so this could have been cleaned by our housekeeping team immediately. This is very unusual as every room is per standard throroiughly cleaned and then checked by our Housekeeping Supervisors before guests are allowed to check in, clearly we have not performed to our usual standards that day and again, please recieve my sincerest apologies. It is also with great concern that we have read your comments on our reception team as it is renowned in the hospitality industry that the first 10 minutes at the reception and the last 10 upon check out contribute greatly to the reputation of a hotel; please be assured that your comments have been shared with the concerned managers so they can make the appropriate adjustments in the areas you mentioned. We promise you that your stay in our hotel will be more enjoyable

    “4 stars Hotel wich is not even 1 star worth dirty, very dirty, loud und unfriendly”

    dirty, very dirty, hair every where in the room even under the pillow i found hair. Its also very loud, you won't be able to sleep. had the worst 2 days in my life, never go there again. the personal are also so not polite and not ready to help in any issue.

    “Very good hotel”

    Centric, close to everything. You can walk to the Medina or visit the newer area of town from this hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Everybody spoke Arabic, French, Spanish, and English fluently.

    “Troubled Experience”

    People in the reception were always sore and displayed the unwelcome attitude. We realised , visiting the Restaurant was a mistake from day 1, even for breakfast. Day 2 and 3 the AC were not working and gave you the impression that was the best they could offer. Honestly not the best experience for the Barcelo group.

    “Nice location”

    Centrally located this hotel offers a good standard of service. Breakfast for British people is a bit sparse but adequate with an option to have omelette with the toast supplied, otherwise it’s a continental style breakfast. Rooms are okay with plenty of room. Try to avoid rooms facing the beach and the side because the nights are extremely loud until 4/5 am with plenty of boy racers in cars who tend to do a circuit around the area time after time. Alcohol is served in the hotel bar but pricey and surrounding restaurants serve alcohol too, but a little less pricey than hotels but still a little high. Venture out further in order to find authentic Morrocan resteraunts where the locals eat as it’s cheap as chips at around a tenner a head on an evening excluding alcohol.
