    “Now that I have been to the Jandia Mar”

    Now that I have been to the Jandia Mar . A few people unwell when we were there but we were fine during our stay. The hotel complex is large and well laid out . Within a day you will easily find your way round the complex. Reception was not good very very long queue to book in . Four people on three dealing with other enquiries only one person booking people in. Even when all other guests with enquiries had gone two staff members turned and walked into the back office. Try to avoid the older receptionist with the shoulder length dark hair. She never smiles and is not very helpful or professional Room was very spacious and we had a large balcony looking onto street and the Jandia Playa hotel. The rooms have zero soundproofing . When we asked the rep about this we were told it is to keep the rooms cool. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in hot countries over the years but their good soundproofing didn't mean hot rooms ? First night we got to sleep at 3am neighbours through the wall having a domestic. Second and third night 2am someone being very sick the lack of soundproofing made it sound like they were in the room with us. They also liked to rearrange all their furniture in their room in the early hours of the morning by dragging them along the floor. Could clearly hear people moving around in rooms all around us. We asked if we could be moved to rooms in the main area of the hotel building but they said they were prestige rooms and would cost us 35 euros each room per night roughly 350 euros to move. Found out later that their are security people who if you inform reception will go and speak to unruly guests. Saw one man being removed from the premises. Rooms are cleaned every day. The food is reasonable but repetitive. Breakfast choices were very good. We struggled to get water for our room seriously ample amounts of alcohol but they always ran out of water. The snack bar for lunch was at best interesting so we avoided it and ate out. Pool areas have loads of sunbeds but not enough for the amount of people staying at the hotel and they are full very quickly so get down early. The gym was very good. The hotel runs a bus three times a day to the beach and main shopping area . Lots of shops restaurants and a stunning beach. Plenty to do and see. It is a very steep hill to get back to the hotel. There is a gate you can come back into the complex at the bottom of the hill the complex is on. Saves walking up the steep hill for two blocks. You will need your room card to get through the gate. The beaches are stunning 13 euros a day for a sun lounger on the beach. I absolutely loved Jandia .I would go back but I would not stay at the Jandia Mar. I would say three star hotel and you will be fine if you can sleep through the noises around you.

    “Not for us”

    We travelled as a family 2 adults and 1 child in August. Check in was quick and easy and the hotel was very clean. We had a sea view room which was quite hard to access due to heavy cases and no lifts. The sea view was really good and worth paying extra for this but there is a wood panel on the balcony which means when you are sitting down you can’t see the sea. It would be useful if this was changed to a Perspex panel so you could enjoy the view. Food was really good and lots of choice. Some dishes were stone cold so could have done with being changed more regularly. There were no flies! Soft drinks were hit and miss sometimes lovely and sometimes warm and flat. We were all inclusive and I struggled with the alcohol available. I didn’t really enjoy the wine or gin but that’s just my taste. My main issue was the entertainment it spoiled our holiday. I don’t mean to be unkind as I’m sure the entertainers work really hard but we didn’t enjoy it at all. My daughter always gets involved and loves the mini disco but she didn’t want to join in most nights. It felt a little bit like an 18-30s style for parents. This meant that we were out of the hotel most nights to avoid it. We stuck to the bottom pool which was a lot quieter. There were a few issues at the top pool with fighting and arguing between other guests which made us feel uncomfortable. The hotel management did step in and sort the situation out. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill which wouldn’t be suitable for elderly or those with mobility problems. The beaches are amazing and the old town is lovely. We saw some stingrays, chipmunks and there is a turtle sanctuary free to visit. Overall we enjoyed the holiday and the island and would return but not to this hotel. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely hotel just the atmosphere let it down. Obviously not the hotels fault as they don’t know who will be coming through the doors! Finally a big thanks to all of the staff as everyone works so hard.

    “Amazing hotel ”

    One of the best hoildays we have ever stayed in. The food is excellent the staff are excellent my little girl is just loving it. This hotel is top class and the entertainment staff is amazing we will definitely be coming back.

    “Don’t bother”

    20 mins for the first round. 25 mins for the 2nd round of drinks. Checker the bar down stairs. 9 people in the que. 1 person behind the bar. ( working hard by the way ) Asked at reception. So, that’s normal apparently. I will update daily

    “Lovely”

    I went as a single dad with 14yr old boy and 10 yr old daughter. We had a great time here...something for everyone. Would definitely go again. No complaints here!! Food was fine, staff very helpful, accommodation was very good. Paid for a sea view. Went with Jet2 will use them again.
