    “Stay at Occidental Castellana Norte in Madrid”

    Can warmly recommend it for staying in the Northern area of Madrid, specially for business purposes. Unfortunately it is rather far from city center which is directly connected by bus line 150.The restaurant is not for gourmands but one can have a decent dinner at reasonable cost start 8 o'clock in the evening.

    “Changed room at 2am”

    Room temp at 24c and queried it with hotel staff on arrival. Way too hot. They said it was broken (same excuse as previous stays for colleagues and myself). They said it would cool down with tweaks made at front desk. At 2am I had enough and called reception who spoke no English. Cut a long story short, moved rooms. It’s cooler only because the room is on the side of the building. Now wide awake with important meetings in the morning. Comfort is paramount and this place failed again. Very tempted to ask company to not stay here as s preferred hotel. Shame as some of the staff are nice and although basic, rooms clean. Why have AC listed at point of booking room when they block guests to regulate temp themselves via the room. The AC is not broken, they are just not allowing us to change it. It’s Nov but their is no cold snap.

However, I would like to add my apologies to this matter, as I truly believe that our guests comfort is essential for the success of the hotel, and as you can read in the different social medias, we do offer that comfort service. Nevertheless, in this occasion, we could not provide the quality we are used to due to the fact that in this time of the year we can not afford to have the ac on, even though during the day it´s quite pleasant, at night temperature drops heavily, that makes us turn on only the heating system. As my front office manager confirmed, we will make sure you have a pleasant stay next time, and I take this opportunity to thank you for giving us the chance to prove it.     “Poor restaurant”

    I went to restaurant for my breakfast with my boss, We are an Asian so we brought our own food to restaurant, but we need to use microwave for 2 minutes, when I asked to use microwave, someone in the kitchen he was very impolite and he throw away our stuff and he left immediately without saying anything. The next day, I asked him very polite way but he did same thing and even though my boss felt racism and i felt really angry.

    “Very nice hotel”

    Room and bathroom big and cleaned. Breakfast is very huge: eggs, sausagues, several hams and cheese, fruits, yogurt, dessert etc. Very good wifi connection. There is the metro in 8 mins by walking. The members of the reception are very kindly and efficient. I suggest this hotel.

    “The usual very good hotel belonging to the Barcelò chain”

    I've been accommodated in this hotel for three days. It is not the first time I made this experience and as in the past it was very good. Very polite employees, overall a very good service. The room was of proper dimensions, clean with modern furniture. Same thing for the bathroom. The only little thing is that the mineral water is not available for free as it is in many four stars hotels. I recommend it!

    “Very nice hotel”

    “The usual very good hotel belonging to the Barcelò chain”


    I've been accommodated in this hotel for three days. It is not the first time I made this experience and as in the past it was very good. Very polite employees, overall a very good service.
