    “Enjoy!”

    Lovely place by the ocean. Lots of fun to be had. The staff is easy to work with and very pleasant. The rooms were very clean. The air conditioning in the room needs to be regulated because it blew so hard no matter what setting. It felt like a hurricane. The food was plentiful. Breakfast was the best meal. The other meals need an up grade. Stores,bars and a casino all available in the hotel.

    “Barcelo”

    Took my mom to Aruba for a 6 day vacation. I booked through Costco's website and this hotel had the best price for the package and the review were decent enough I gave it a shot. We were both pleased with the service we received at The Palms breakfast from Yuri. She always had a smile on her face. We also got to try each othe restaurants (once you arrive make sure you go and make reservations). We really enjoyed the italian restaurant. The others weren't bad but the italian was by far the best. Our room was nice and clean. We got a "partial ocean view" which really meant we got 80% parking lot view and 20% ocean view but we were not in the room much so that didn't necessarily matter a whole lot to us.

    “Fabulous time!”

    From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. Ivette Croes made sure we were well taken care, asking if there is anything we needed assistance with such as restaurant reservations, etc. We were greeted with a Happy Island cocktail which I recommend you try - yum. First impression is very important, and since we checked in at the First Club, I'm not sure if the main check-in desk offers cool towels and welcome drinks, but if they don't, they should be aware that it goes a long way in making the guests feel happy about being there. You only get one shot at a first impression. The Barcelo has made so many improvements to the hotel, both inside and out. Many little details may go unnoticed by many, but I noticed so many changes for the better and I look forward to returning to this hotel. My sister and I dined at every restaurant, and we enjoyed our meals at all of them. Some we found to be better than others, and our favorite is the Italian (recommend the lamb chops with mushroom risotto and seafood linguini in lobster sauce) Also enjoyed the antipasta bar at the Italian. Def recommend you try sitting outside on the patio of the Italian overlooking the pool - the wind is not that bad and it was nice to dine outdoors. The Oriental came in as our second favorite. Hibachi was as good as you get, and the regular menu has plenty of sushi to choose from as an appetizer. I enjoyed the pad thai noodles and cashew chicken. Our third choice was the Arubian Seafood. We enjoyed our meal at the Arubian Seafood, but I was not impressed with the quality of the steak they served with surf and turf. My sister had the tuna and said it was good, but a little overdone. The second time I went the waitress suggested the Prawns in lobster sauce and it was good - having plenty of chunks of lobster in the sauce as a bonus. My least favorite restaurant, but still wasn't bad was the Mexican. I had dangerous shrimp and it was very tasty, but the shrimp was on the smaller side. The Mexican does have a new bar which serves Patron - definitely a nice new touch for the hotel. One thing I noticed did bother me, and I direct this to the managers/owner: If someone is Royal they paid for the perks. If someone is First Club, they paid for those perks. Train the staff to be vigilant in making sure they provide the services paid for by checking bracelets and saying "no" when necessary. The Royal and First Club owners take it very seriously because they paid tons of money up front and then paid the all-inclusive rate to enjoy these services. It puts a damper on it to see others didn't have to pay for the same thing when they are given those perks at the will of certain staff. Everyone should get what they paid for, not what they didn't pay for. I have a few shout outs for some of the staff who went above and beyond. They are: First Club: Ivette Croes, Belinda, Marolyn, Gilmer and Clara. Pasan (Arubian), Myrna (Oriental), Claudia (Buffet), Roland the bellhop, and Resty.

    I gave my weeks to my mother-in-law who was handicapped. She raved about the service and how she was treated. The staff was so willing to help her and even provided breakfast in her room every morning. Thanks for making her stay so enjoyable!!!!!!

    “BARCELO getaway!”

    Location was great! Beach was beautiful with many excursions and closeby restaurants! Pool and swim up bar were relaxing! Grab a cabana early like 7:30am if you want one! Nightly shows were entertaining! Eat at the restaurants in hotel at night instead of buffet! Jeep Safari excursion was a blast! Very nice all around!! 🌴☀️
