    “Birthday present”

I got this trip from my husband as a birthday present. We went there in the end of Januray 2017. The Hotel is really big, has more than 10 buildings (all 3-stories). It really is a resort, you go in, and dont feel the need to get out of there. There is everything you need inside. All facilities, and room was good quality, staff friendly, and helpful, meals more than excellent. We have visited Punta Cana before, we stayed at another hotel, and this hotel had far more nicer beach. Beautiful, clean, and secure. There is a small market not far, where you can buy coconuts for 3USD.

“The worst of all inclusive 5 stars resorts”

The hotel location and infrastructure are excellent, however it s not really all inclusive: basic activities such as kids swiming pool, Jakuzzi and basic kids games are not included. The Golf green fee is free but you have to pay $75 per head for the cart. The worst is the food and drinks: food is heated frozen food, wine tastes like a mix of bad grape juice and Alcohol. That s bad for a 5 star hotel. If you want to drink good coffe, you have to wait until 4pm for the coffee and cigar bar to open, which is too bad for most of us who need a good coffee in the morning. Service, specially at the reception, need a lot of improvement. We will definetly not come back. I hope this review will not be removed. I m a verified guest I was in the hotel between the 11th and 18th of February

“What's excellent is excellent. What's not is not.”

PLUS: family suite (8400 area) was excellent: two large bedrooms, two balconies, one with jacuzzi, bathroom with rain shower, mini-refrig stocked with water, milk, juices. Water park was nice. Water sports -- we used kayak - fun! There's always some place to go to get a meal. There's lots to like about having everything (almost) included. MINUS: buffet food was hit or miss. Best to stick with salads, fruit and made to order eggs. VERY annoying to have to get table, and then try to get waiter to provide settings, water & coffee - could be done with meal before got water. Inefficient!! Having to make reservations at restaurants -- time consuming and hard to get. Lots of chairs around the pools, but hard to find a couple of empty ones. Not sure guest services know about off the beaten path attractions. Paying for internet at an all-inclusive???? Why??

    “Avoid if possible”

Just got back yesterday and definitely won't be returning. Pros - nice beach, water is calm, grounds and pools are nice, room is nice. Cons - everything else! Tried to check in at 130, but the room wasn't ready which was fine so they said to come back at 3. Came back at 3 and stood at the desk for an hour before we got a key. It ended up being a different room than we were told so I'm assuming they grabbed the first available. But I wouldn't know because the desk agents never communicated anything to me. We were with a group and tried to make dinner reservations as soon as we got there and the only time slot left over the next 4 days were 930pm, 10 and 1030pm. We didn't want to eat that late but had no choice. When we arrived at our dinners, half the restaurants were empty, it made no sense at all. The buffet was awful. It was the same food every day. We had a couple people with upset stomachs from the food. Several of the bartenders were unfriendly and seemed annoyed to have to get drinks. We tried going the tipping route and that seemed to make no difference so, we quit with that. We did tip the housekeeping staff the first day and that did seem to work because our room was clean and tidy every day. Other people with us did not tip and their rooms were either never cleaned or just the towels were replaced. While I appreciate the tip helped our room, we really shouldn't have to tip to get the room cleaned. It should be part of the service. This is definitely a more European catered clientele. There was a lot of smoking everywhere, even inside. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana last year and we thought it was awesome, hands down better than Barceló. Overall our group had a great time because we were with each other and made the most of it, but it was definitely annoying to have to pay so much money and not have the basics of hotel service up to par.

    “Great place!!!”

Love this place! I went with my husband and daughter last year for Spring break and going back this year again. Very clean, the gardens are beautiful, the food is delicious. We spend 8 days in heaven.
