    “it remains a beautifully situated hotel- a few flaws this year”

    Yes , a few flaws but lets mention the good things , to eat lunch at el pi outside under the shade is a delightful setting which the quality of the food doesnt quite match but nevertheless enjoyable but perhaps for a more lively ambience the restaurant by the beach either downstairs- lively packed or upstairs in an air conditioned room - where we had the very best cooked lobster this lacks the bustle of downstairs - but the food in both really good , particularly clams where you dont get 9 clams but a decent load beautifully cooked in a lemony sauce staff here are on the ball , pleasant and efficient. The minuses this year were firstly breakfast where nobody greeted us when we sat down - no asking if we wanted coffee orange juice etc- the staff strangely disconnected good choice of food however and a friendly lady to cook an omelette as you wish etc. Of course the great views from the terrace as you consume your breakfast so really just a niggle about the somewhat joyless staff . Equally we found the service in the restaurant colomer in the evening to be lacking in motivation - which had never happened before- again rather joyless . For example i decided to go a la carte as I thought I would like to be served and ordered lobster thermidor -along it came just grilled lobster - no thermidor sauce - no apologies from the head waiter - he avoided my gaze for the rest of the evening. Then i asked for a crepe suzette from the station in the restaurant that prepared them especially - no member of staff was at the station and I had to wait until they found a clearly flustered young girl who proceeded to try her best but did not have much idea one of the waiters kindly said he would cook it for me - but due to protocol he was not allowed to do so . Then as many others have said the food in the heated enclosures was generally rather dry and tasteless - hitherto we had avoided the buffet - why should I be serving myself ?-but this year after the debacle with lobster thermidor we thought the kitchen was not up to it so we were left with self service . In the past one of the delights in eating at the colomer restaurant on the terrace with that fantastic view at night was the a la carte , some grilled fish etc , simple stuff but done well - but not this year. I really wondered whether the staff serving and the kitchen had been de motiivated somehow because in the almost 30 years of dining here the whole ambience had gone down - great shame . So returning to the positives the fabulous gardens and grounds , tony and his jolly crew on the beach, the setting of this place in its splendid isolation in its 1000 acres unique - so as a faithful customer over so many years could the unseen management attend to the few faults we found so we can return next year to find the staff a bit more cheerful in the main hotel , the kitchen and a la carte menu in colomer back where it was- then combined with the beach area with its excellent atmosphere and staff you have an unbeatable place - and this year by the way new carpets everywhere .!

    “It must has been a superb Palace”

    This Palace has been built in the year 1929 in an a most beautiful location. Unfortunately the rooms are not up to date, the decoration is old fashion. The normal rooms are much to small, the bath rooms are very small. The restaurants are bad. The menu is extremely short, the service is not professional. Only the breakfast buffet is ok served on a beautiful terrace . But the parc is beautiful , lovely, fantastic old trees,just for the garden it is worth visiting the place

    “Charming”

    Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfasts and beautiful location. Our room and bathroom were a little small. Not much room to put the suitcases. The location is superb with beautiful gardens to stroll around in.

    “Superb”

    We had a faultless stay - how do you better 10/10 ??? The staff are genuinely friendly and the hotel is superb. The food was excellent and the location as beautiful as the Caribbean , what more could we ask for?
