Allegro Isora reviewed by 968John on . Very average with building work. Avoid if you can. Of the three pools two were drained and cordoned off. The day after we arrived workmen began work around the pools with a pneumatic drill. The day after this they were joined by a small JCB type... Rating: 3

    “Allegro Isora under construction”

    Such a shame there was so much renovation work being carried out, it was like staying on a building site for a week ::((( The entire area in between our room and the pool was being dug up by big diggers and cordoned off by orange fencing.

    “Bad”

    Arrived to find building works in progress with gym and one pool closed. Lots of noise so we complained and moved hotel got upgraded. Would not go back much better hotels out there. Sat by other pool all you could hear we're drills and diggers

    “Thumbs up!”

    I want to go back! Great choice of food! Great choice of drinks. Good clean but basic rooms. They were in the middle of doing up one of the pools and has potential to be lovely. Once all the work is completed it will be great. Good entertainment, just need a bigger area as the space isn't big enough for the amount of people staying at the hotel. Great area... we went exploring and found some great places. Handful of bars close by and souvenir shops. Ignore the rubbish reviews. Give it a try but you can't be picky.

    “Despite the hotel itself we had a good time”

    Upon arrival our room was not ready- we were sent to the pool bar to wait and were told that we would be called once it was ready- 3 hours later we went back to reception only to find it was ready but no-one had called. When we got to the room the cleanliness left a lot to be desired- previous occupants underwear left in the drawers and when my friend dropped something on the kitchen floor and went to pick it up she spotted that under the cupboards was littered with dirt and bottle caps- this needs to be addressed for future visitors. The beds were like sleeping on concrete with no option of a mattress topper when we asked so we hardly slept all week. The food by the pool bar was cold and uncovered and left to the elements and it seemed if you were half board a better quality of food was on offer because you paid for it. The main pool area had sunbeds so sandwiched together that you could roll onto a complete stranger if desired and although there were some new sunbeds if you were unlucky enough to get an old one you could sink into it where the material was so saggy. The area itself was run down and dirty and we were subjected to drilling every day as the 3rd pool was out of action and being repaired- this we were not told by our rep so we will be taking this up with Thomson separately. There of course was the usual early booking of beds. The food was OK but often not replenished quickly enough when it ran out and later in the week when the hotel got more crowded it was more like a canteen, so we opted to eat out for the last 2 nights- we recommend The Golden Chopsticks and Martines both were excellent. The queues for a drink were not acceptable with only 2 staff on the bar and people wanting cocktails. The crowning glory was the animation team who go over and above to make things fun without being too pushy and the hotel management needs to acknowledge this. So thanks to Eduardo, Bambino, Simo and the team if it hadn't been for you we would have been asking to change hotels- thank you.

    “AWFUL UNBEARABLE NOISE COULDNT WAIT TO LEAVE”

    this has been our worst holiday ever. Drills and a jcb at 7am lovely start to your holiday. Peace and quiet no chance if you come here. They shouldn't even be selling this hotel due to the work on the pool areas, its not fit for paying guests. The dirt filters all around the hotel and the pool area making everywhere feel dirty. Just awful. Long queues for drinks and believe me you will need one to get through your so called holiday. Food basic usual all inclusive. Hard to be positive when the noise, dirt, dust has ruined our meant to be weeks rest!

However we would like to take this opportunity to clarify certain aspects of your review as a simple matter of exactness of the information reported. Regarding the start time of the work, I would like to inform you that they are always starting at 9:30 in the morning, ending at 14:00 and starting again at 15:00 until 17:00 to 18:00.We do alos, our best to ensure that the noise levels always stay within the sensible limits so our guests are not disturbed but sometimes it is impossible to guarantee this and we are sorry for this. Also, we always offered a change of room to all the people who explicitly requested it at reception, and when we have the availability we do it the same day. Thorough cleaning is an absolute must for Barceló and we follow very strict protocols to guarantee satisfying results regarding hygiene and cleanliness in our hotels,sorry for making you uncomfortable. We have also taken good note of your remarks on the dining expériences and sincerely lament reading that we fell short of your culinary expectations on this occasion, although I would like to take the opportunity to point out that our Executive Chefs follow a weeks menu rotation including a wide array of both local and international delicacies to cater for all diet requirements and please the most demanding palates, this is why we are sorry to read that we were not able to conquer yours and will make sure to discuss your critics with our team. Again, we genuinely appreciate the time you took out of your day to inform us of the inadequacies you experienced during your stay and we sincerely hope that you will allow us another opportunity to demonstrate our true level of hospitality and interest in serving you properly in the future.
