“Excellent... we are having a fabulous time!”

Reading other reviews had seriously lowered my expectations. Reviewers had talked about fly problems, lack of sun beds and very average food. Well, I write from my sun lounger at the bottom pool, having not long had a beautiful breakfast without flys! Don't believe the hype... In fairness, we have encountered a few small issues, just wear and tear items in our room. We reported the issues to reception and they sorted them all within minutes. The building work is being done by very considerate contractors, who's singing is louder than their work. The room cleaning staff are fantastic and they came in every day and worked their magic. The food was literally the best all inclusive type food we have ever experienced. Beautifully presented and huge choice of extremely high quality. We are half board and find the drinks to be very reasonable on price. We are going home tomorrow and will be sad to leave.

    “A holiday in the sun”

I stayed at the Allegro Isora for 1 week with some of my mates between the 11th and 18th of July 2017. We booked the hotel with Thomson (or TUI) and went with the “All Inclusive” package. The Allegro is situated in a great location. There were plenty of shops nearby to buy water, as well as an inflatable and souvenirs. Just a 10 minute walk from the hotel was Playa de la Arena beach (which consisted of beautiful soft black sands, was well as the sea being very clear), as well as pubs/bars and restaurants. Though, if it is the busy night life you want, then you can get a taxi or bus to the resort of Playa de las Americas. At check in we were made very aware of all the relative information about our stay, such as when meal times were, when check out was…The staff at reception were always very helpful and polite. If we ever had any queries or questions, then these were all dealt with or answered effectively, such as when we lost power in our room, reception sent someone from maintenance swiftly to resolve the issue. The apartment I stayed in was C-105. The apartment itself was very spacious…more than enough space for 3 people, and featured a contemporary decor. The beds themselves were comfy, and the air conditioning was very efficient. The fridge when you arrive is equip with bottles of water, and though we didn’t use it, there was a hob, as well as some pans to cook in. What I did find strange was that the bathroom door didn’t have a lock, but that didn’t cause any issues, as we would just announce to one another when about to use the shower! The apartments were also kept very clean throughout our stay, with new sheets put on the beds, as well as new towels most of the time. Like the rooms, many of the facilities around the hotel were also very well kept. There were 3 good sized pools…one of which had a slide (something which wasn’t advertised on the Thomson/TUI website). Around the pool there were plenty of sunbeds, but even though there is a sign asking guests not to reserve sunbeds before 10:00am, this wasn’t enforced, hence meaning if you want the best sunbeds, then you have to get up! The Spa at the Allegro was also amazing. I went for an express 15 minute back massage. Not only did I feel truly relaxed at the end of it, but it was great value at 18 euros. We also made use of the pool tables and air hockey, with some of my other mates using the gym facilities. At the Allegro, not only did the wide range of facilities meant there was lots to do, but throughout the day there were a number of different activities put on by their animation team. The animation team were all funny, energetic and would engage with all the guests (with Eduardo playing a number of practical jokes on us, as well as nicknaming one of my mates “Shaggy from Scooby Do…which has stuck!). The evening entertainment could be a bit hit and miss. I enjoyed the bingo game, but thought the impersonation of the Jackson 5 was a bit tacky…but that is just my subjective opinion, and we went out most nights anyway. The food in the main buffet restaurant at breakfast and dinner was tasty, with a wide variety of different dishes to choose from, which would suit all taste buds. I especially enjoyed the free meal (that you got with the all inclusive package) at the a la carte restaurant…that was my favourite meal of the holiday. The food in the buffet restaurant was always well stocked. But, the buffet restaurant couldn’t cope at peak times, as it was a struggle to find a table for 6, meaning sometimes we had to sit on 2 different tables, (though on a couple of occasions, if we saw a vacant table, the restaurant staff were happy to clear the plates and set it up for us). The pool bar was also well stocked with mainly burgers, hot dogs, chips and ice cream, but after a week it was beginning to get a bit samey. But, a big issue for me was the large number of flies there are at the hotel. I do appreciate that the hotel cannot do anything to stop the presence of flies, but I found it a real put off when I saw them landing on the food in the pool bar and buffet restaurant (this is because I associate flies as being quite dirty creatures). Ensuring all food is covered up, and more fly killers would help to ensure they are less of a pest to the guests. The self service soft drinks machine was always well stocked, and the local beer “Dorada” and the wine was really good. Even though bottled water isn’t included in the “All Inclusive” package, the water from the dispensers around the hotel is bottled, mineral water. In the evening bar, some of the drinks I found were incredibly strong (I had a vodka and coke that was more vodka than coke!), though I did thoroughly enjoy the Tequila Sunrise. The evening bar was also very understaffed, as sometimes you would queue for a long time before getting your drinks...during one occasion I had to go behind the bar and pour my own drinks. On the whole, we all had a great holiday in Tenerife…what we were looking for after just finishing our A levels! I would also like to thank the team at the Allegro Isora for making it a pleasurable stay, and a holiday to remember.

    “Needs improvement ”

We stayed for a week begining of july. We had 2 young children with us. I had been a bit wary of reviews as i believe a holiday is what you make it. Hotel is a good size, bottom pool had reopened week before we arrived and had a slide, and there was a toddler pool. The other pools were good, mailnly middle one both my kids loved it,but the path at one side was all broken up and had some holes kids and adults hurting their feet, was also stones at bottom of pool. You need to be up very early if you want a sun lounger, we didnt bother we just sat at the snack bar. The restaurant is very small for all the people they have eating there and very understaffed, food wasnt great, have a few bits of meat that was still raw in middle, flies all over food and in snack bar there was a bird at the chips, restaurant doesnt cater for children so mines only had chips all week unless they had a hotdog at snack bar. Queues for all inclusive bar can be quite big and finishes at 11 even tho its asvertised with holiday company until midnight. It is advertised having tennis and a playground for kids these weren't there there is building work going on where playground should be, that was one reason i booked this hotel. The room was a good size, air con didnt work well, was to hot in the bedroom so we all slept in the living room part, there was a hole at the shower tap so water ran in and out the hole under bath, tiles were coming off wall, fridge smelled of sour milk. The staff are mostly friendly one or 2 not much. Maid did a good job except forgetting towels on one occasion but she did bring them later. The entertainment at night wasnt good to start with but improved by end of holiday, the animation team are fantastic and get everyone involved and interact with all guests including the kids, eduardo is brilliant so funny, the girls who run barcy club and mini disco do a good job both my kids enjoyed it. I am quite disappointed in this hotel for being a 4* needs quite a bit improvement and more staff to cope with the high guest volume. All inclusive drinks bar needs an extra barman on to reduce queueing. The beach is a 10mins walk down a hill and there isnt much around to do, but it is a nice area if you want a quiet holiday. I recommend a trip to loro parque and a meal at legends sports bar. Overall my kids enjoyed their holiday mostly in the pool, us on other hand didnt but our holidays are for our kids Hopefully improvements will be done

I was on holiday with my husband, 2 young sons and my mother. We loved this hotel especially all of the entertainment team. They were so friendly and encouraged all the children to join in the fun. The range of sports activities for my older son was great exactly what he wanted. Lovely location for a quiet holiday with a lovely beach within a 10 minute walk for the hotel. We went on the flipper uno boat trip that left from los gigantes which was one of the best boat trips we have ever been on. Great value for money and an overall brilliant trip.
