    “All GOOD!”

    Just want we were expecting in all aspects. The cleanliness of the room, breakfast and I believe also the lunch (though we did not have one but the dining area was full so I believe it was great as well)!

    “A disappointment”

    From the photos and the hotel name, we expected better than this but were really disappointed with the room quality in particular. Overall it felt neglected. We paid additional for the superior room with balcony/terrace but I would say this didn't seem worth it as the room was only adequate sized, certainly not luxurious in any way and the balcony was tiny (they didn't even attempt to put a table with the two sad chairs out there) and was always in shadow. To make it worse, you look directly on to another hotel opposite that had large, fully equipped balconies that are bathed in sunshine! The room was verging on cold and there was no heating method. Blankets (70's style) were the option if you were cold in bed, which to be fair was comfortable, but hardly a solution to a comfortable, relaxing room temperature. The windows weren't very well soundproofed and the road outside was pretty noisy. The room had totally inadequate storage/wardrobe space and the furniture all looked cheap or past its best. Overall felt more like 'digs' so don't be fooled by the hotel photos which flatter it massively. The bathroom once had a bath but that had been taken out but they hadn't adjusted the simple, practical things like where to put your bottles accordingly so they had to live on the floor...and it leaked over the floor. The main public areas have at least some design and are in good order, but still not large enough or inviting enough to just spend some time if you want to avoid being in your depressing room but don't want to have to pay to sit in a cafe or whatever. The lift lobby areas are such wasted space as with some plants, lighting, screens, books etc, they could be nice places to sit - especially since the sun deck is closed for the winter period. We knew that the pool was closed, but we didn't realise you weren't even allowed to sit on the deck, which was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel so very annoying. Last moan is breakfast, which we booked and paid for in advance based on other reviews. This was inferior to almost every other hotel we've stayed in - only 2 cereals, no non-dairy milk options, terrible bread (and toaster) and coffee so we ended up buying our own cereal and suitable milks to take down to the breakfast room. The only saving grace is the location but I really couldn't recommend this hotel - they seem either lazy to improve or not to have the budget. For a short, business trip probably o.k.

    “Perfecto for Santa Cruz ”

    My parents stayed here over the Xmas and new year period and absolutely loved it! The hotel is perfect if you want to see Santa Cruz and enjoy local life at the same time! My advice get a room overlooking the ramblas and feel sorry for the guests across the road at the hotel mencey iberostar paying an arm and leg for what you have for next to nothing! It's worth paying extra and getting a terrace room as you get the afternoon sun on your sunny terrace and another tip is that even though the pool may be closed in the winter (fair enough it's a bit nippy for a dip) they do have a sun terrace with Sunbed's available on the roof (accessible up the stairs from the 7th floor - WHAT A FIND!) this isn't advertised on their website but should be! You just need a bar up there and you will be all set for the day! The hotel is close to all local amenities and the port and the centre of Santa Cruz (take a leisurely walk it's good for you!) rooms are spacious and immaculate and housekeeping change your sheets and towels every day (not necessary or eco friendly but thank you!) food and beverage is reasonably priced for a city hotel and excellent quality but don't be put off by the restaurant manager if he says only half board guests can dine because that's not true and they have a good 3 course menu offer. The only downfall was one of the waitresses was a bit of a negative Nancy in choosing where you sit to eat (for breakfast) and then in the evening when you wanted a cocktail she said you can have a Mojito but we have no mint!!! (How is this possible in tenerife?!) she also hates giving ice buckets out but after realising we were staying for quite some time she did warm to us reluctantly. The rest of the staff were really friendly and helpful and whenever my parents needed anything the staff were on hand to assist. Free car park is available but it's first come first served so dump your car and leave it there for your stay to avoid public car park charges. If you pull up outside the hotel you do get 15 mins for free which Is helpful for check in/out purposes and pick ups and drop offs. All in all a great stay and I've got a feeling my parents will be back again in the very near future.

    “Great location”

    A nice contemporary hotel on the Ramblas. Each morning we set off through a lovely park just outside. The rooms were simple but total adequate. The walk in showers were great, the hair dryers not so. The staff were really friendly and the bar area was a lovely place to meet up and to end the evening.

    “room small, dinner bad”

    The single rooms are quite small, no outside window. The dinner was really poor. The calamares andaluz cooked ok with some mayonaise poured over them, the salad, like in a very cheap snack bar, lettuce, some carrot stripes and cannded corn. no dressing. Followed by cold bacalao with lukewarm potatoes. I can only say, no tgank you. disgusting.
