    “Excellant all inclusive Vacation”

    My Girlfriend and I spent 4 days and 3 night at Barcelo Tambor. I have been there Many times but her first time. Every thing was great. Food, Drink, Golf Course next Door really run by Resort was fine, Lots of wildlife on course Deer, Birds, Iguana, Etc.. We especially Liked the Japanese Restaurant and El Rancho by the beach (You can make special reservations for them in Mornings instead of having the evening Buffet). One of the Manager Jose Fuentes and Doctor Helberth really help Make the trip great for us both. Which will assure are return in future. My girlfriend also enjoyed the dancing classes down by the swim up bar. I enjoyed other activities at the bar. Good job by all the staff. Thanks.

    “Beautiful views. Poor service. Poor quality.”

    The good: Beautiful views. The bad: Poor service. Poor quality. Low experience level for the staff. Expensive for such a below average hotel. I consider myself easy to please, but even this hotel tested my easy-going, go with the flow personality on many levels. I have been to Other Barcelo properties, and this hotel is a far reach to fit within three brand standards.

    “Excellent stay except food variety”

    Buffet should have more options for an international cuisine, There was no difference between lunch and dinner, same thing every day/night, could improve deserts, fruit and ice cream was good, and coffee was bad.

    “DO NOT GO HERE!”

    Do not go to this resort.... we were very disappointed! From the unmarked bottles of liquor in plastic bottles, to not having a working toilet, phone and no remote for TV. One of the Biggest issues was BUGS IN THE BED!! And I have pics to prove! Hotel very dirty! It did not match what we expected from website and pics... yet they refuse to credit us back!!! They refused to credit us back for a stay that we were unable to enjoy ourselves, and unable to sleep. The VIP package is a hoax.... it only gives you liquor in mini bar that we didn't touch. And they refuse to give us all our money back!!' We have asked 5 TIMES for someone to call us with zero call back. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

    “Outdated and sadly not a good representative for the brand name”

    Prior to staying here we did read some negative reviews but then thought 'its a Barcelo, they're great'. Unfortunately the negative reviews proved to be correct 1) Check in is a shambles with huge crowds everwhere 2) It isn't really a hotel for those from abroad - it's a great place for the local tourist marke though. 3) they insist on bad entertainment all day everyday with horrendous music at ear bursting levels. 4) Common toilets very dated / dirty and poor condition. The rooms themselves are dated but they use small double beds (4 feet wide) which isn't great for comfort. The rooms use chilled air not AC and this is noisy. 5) The all inclusive beer is okay but wine is terrible. 6) Paying for wifi thesedays is crazy if they want to be thought of as a luxury hotel - $12 a day per user is very expensive post 1997.... It probably was a great place when it opened (20+ years ago?) but is now very outdated and in reality overpriced even though it is all inclusive. The management need to accept that they need to move with the times and close down, refurb and reopen as this hotel is sadly currently very damaging to the brand name.
