    Great place to relax and enjoy beautiful weather. If you like great pools, clean rooms, and ok food - go. Only problem we found was the buffet food was cold - if you get it grilled - better!! 20 min walk into town. Entertainment - nil. Activities - nil (but that was a good thing).

    “CRAPPY RESORT”

    First off the grounds of the resort are beautiful. We were in a ocean beach front Premier room and the room was just okay. The view was incredible and the housekeeping was fantastic, but I am sure that was due to tipping very well at the beginning of our stay. Going Premier is not worth it. All it really gives you is access to their lounge where you can free pour top shelf liquor and you can access the fridge which gives you water, juice, Corona Extra in a can which is a step up from the beer you get at the rest of the resort which is draft - mostly poured in a plastic glass. We tried one of their ala carte restaurants (Mexican) which was absolutely horrible - we walked out. We heard from other people that the remaining restaurants were just as bad so we did not try them. This left us with the only food choice - buffet for 7 days. The buffet is okay, but the food is always luke warm or cold. Due to the lack of beer choices and lack of food choices we left the resort almost daily to find other choices elsewhere. Too bad we paid for a resort and then had to pay to go someplace else. You cannot get a lounger at any of the pools unless you get up and save one by 7:00am. They are all gone - saved by a towel, hat, book etc. You might not see anyone at the saved loungers but the staff do nothing to take the personal items away to give someone else a chance to take it. The hot tub states adults only and no alcohol - you often saw children and everyone had liquor in it. This also is not enforced. I can honestly state that this resort is not worth going to.

    “Can I go back please?”

    Just returned last night from a 4 night stay at Barceló. I found the hotel here on Trip Advisor and with the mixed reviews, was a bit cautious going into the trip. However, every expectation was met if not exceeded. Those that are complaining must be pretty entitled and sit on a silver throne. I mean, YOU ARE IN MEXICO!!! From our check in in the Premium Club (we upgraded - worth it in my opinion but definitely not necessary) where Arturo greeted us and made us familiar with the property to transportation upon leaving, I was more than pleased. The food is going to be your typical buffet fair and I thought that lunch service was the best - that is if I could pull myself away from the pool or did not just stuff myself with items from the snack bar. Its not 5 star by any means but the staff in Los Olas are pleasant and extremely accommodating. We did get room service one night which was quick, food arrived hot, and was a great meal. We only ate at Las Jicamas restaurant for dinner and didn't try the others but, again, the food is good. Your typical towel wars do exist here. If you want a spot by the infinity pool, best to get up early and set them out. There are only about 10 there so they go quick. Other than that, there really was no issue finding a chair - it may just not be prime real estate. There isn't much of a nightlife. If you want frat boys and woohoo girls, this isn't really the place for you. Its a $40 cab ride each way into San Lucas where you will find your Senor Frogs and Cabo Wabos and PLENTY of the aforementioned partiers. May be best if you are looking for more of a party atmosphere to stay in San Lucas (It does exist at Barceló but starts getting quiet around 10) I was perfectly content with the entertainment and enjoying cocktails in the lobby bar. My room was cleaned thoroughly every day, fridge restocked, and clean towels provided. The grounds are immaculate (I mean spotless) and while the rooms could use some updating, I didn't have any issues as others have stated. Few things that I would say could use improvement but definitely not deal breakers: The SkyBar is in desperate need of a good scrub down or some way to air out the smell from the sushi restaurant downstairs. The smell was so over powering that we couldn't sit up there and enjoy the spectacular view that it provides. We did talk to another group who went up two nights later and said it was perfectly fine so maybe we just went up on a bad night. The Wifi isn't the best and sometimes wouldn't work at all. I think a couple boosters by the pools would greatly improve the connection. But you are in Mexico - look up from your phone! Other than those two items, I must say my stay was absolutely amazing and I would go again right now if I had more vacation time. A few accolades for some of the staff: Arturo in check in was the real MVP of my trip. Jorge and Antonio by the pools kept the drinks coming with a smile and Yennifer that worked in the main lobby bar/Premium Club ALWAYS had a sweet smile on her face and was so nice. All the staff, really, was pleasant and accommodating. Thank you, Barceló. As soon as my work allows it, I will be back! Hasta proximo vez, Barceló! Gracias por un viaje perfecto!

    “Property was STOLEN. Do not stay here.”

    Plain and simple - an item I value was stolen from my room by a staff member with access while I was out for the day, and the hotel management refused to do anything about it. Do yourself a favor and book a different resort. This place is not worth your money nor your peace.

As i personally explained you, we provide the safety boxes in the room with no cost, to deposit all the valuables, in this case was headphones that as you mention you leave them at the table, also with your cellphone and computer and nothing else was missing, so is difficult for us to blame our employees without any proof. We filled the report and talk to the maid that was the only one who enter to your room as all the days of your stay to clean it. As i explained to you all of our employees are checked with a metal detector and we check their belongings at their arrival and departure of the hotel, the maid didn't have your headphones in any of her bags. Since you report it we took care of it, i asked you to give me the opportunity to find a solution or at least investigate, however you disrespect our work using incorrect language and making impossible for us to attend your situation, you also recorded all the conversation and threatened us with using social media or legal resources. Our hotel do not take responsibility for objects left outside of the safety box. We apologize for this inconvenience, and please contact us for any futer information. We are glad to serve.
