Chichen Itza: Historic Mayan City and World Heritage Site

Chichén Itzá is one of the most famous Mexican archaeological sites, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The pyramid of Kukulkán, with its remarkable light and shadow effect creating the illusion of a descending serpent during the equinoxes, is one of the most iconic monuments of the Mayan civilisation, and a symbol of its grandeur.

Cobá: A hidden treasure in the jungle

Cobá was a ceremonial Mayan city that flourished during the classic period, long before the rise of Chichén Itzá. It is home to the Nohoch Mul Temple, the tallest structure in the region standing at 42 metres. Shrouded and protected by jungle, this ancient city preserves its sacred roads, called sacbeob, which connected it to other Mayan cities.

Tulum: A Mayan Legacy in the Caribbean

Overlooking the sea, with the ruins of El Castillo as its main landmark, Tulum was a walled city and an important trading port during the late post-classic period. This city prospered thanks to its strategic location and it is currently one of the few seaside Mayan archaeological sites, as well as one of the first places in Mexico to greet the sunrise.

The crystal-clear waters of Cozumel, due to their low nutrient levels, pose unique challenges for marine life. Here, the coral reef becomes an essential source of nutrients, vital to biodiversity. This reef is home to turtles, rays, sharks and tropical fish—a breathtaking spectacle that deserves our protection.
