    “Relaxing holiday”

    We stayed at this hotel for a week on a half board basis in March. The hotel was lovely ,clean and comfortable. We liked the communal areas as well as the large bedroom. It was lovely peaceful and relaxing around the pool. The hotel was very clean everywhere. It is ideally situated for the beach, local bars and shops and walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. We found the bar prices to be very reasonable and enjoyed the food. The internet connection was the best we've ever had on holiday with no maximum device limit and the TV was also very good with a large number of English channels. We had a very relaxing holiday and look forward to returning after the refurbishment . I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

    “4th stay, always pleased, great value compared to price paid.”

    With now 4 stays in this hotel, we could see the consistency of the quality of service, as well as the kindness and dedication of the staff. Compared to other hotels of the Canarians, the Barcelo Corralejo Bay, remains our benchmark with great value compared to price paid. Customer satisfaction is something taken seriously, thanks to the manager, Ms Irene Albujar Cruz and all the staff making this place great. In spring 2019, the hotel will be refurbished. My expectation for a probable 5th visit is to have a Nespresso machine in the high-end rooms. These poor quality lyophilized coffee sticks are just not fitting in.

    “Disappointing”

    We were recommended this hotel and viewed the glossy pictures on the website, even the reviews on here were very favourable, but it definitely does not reflect this. On first arrival we noticed there is no porters service, the service trolleys are there but you have to take your own luggage to your room, we were told it is not company policy to have porters. There was a trolly of welcome drinks but none were offered. The receptionist was efficient but like most of the staff, wasn't at all friendly. We paid for an upgrade room, but it wasn't any different from the standard. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, however the furniture was old and out dated. The bed settee was stained and grubby. The restaurant seemed under staffed as the food wasn't topped up regularly, and the choice was quite limited. The fresh cooked meats were always tough and tasteless. We mainly lived on salad. Not the usual standard for a 4 star hotel. The entrainment was held in the reception area, so there was no quiet lounge should you wish to avoid the noise. The enterainment was a bit hit and miss, some of the acts were ok. The pool area was lovely and you could always find a sun Lounger. We have previously stayed at the Barcelo in Costa Colette which is far superior to this one. The hotel invited us to fill out a survey during the week which we mentioned the above concerns, and Irene the customer relations manager decided to question our comments as we arrived one evening in the restaurant, she was very defensive regarding our comments which was quite embarrassing as the other diners witnessed the event. We later found out the hotel is closing in April for a refurb,and we were also told the hotel is under new management, who are keen to cut costs, this is very evident. The only friendly member of staff was Hugo the fitness instructed and one of the spa receptionists. To use the spa it will cost you €16 a day which in my opinion isn't worth it. The only advantage of the room upgrade was free entry to the spa. If we had known the hotel was due to close we would have thought twice about booking. The location however is great, close to the beach and shopping centre and the weather was fantastic, shame the hotel was such a let down.

    “Everything was fab”

    First time at this island certainly wont be the last. Hotel was in a fab location although you can get the hotel bus to beach you could walk there. Shops around the corner. Lovely restaurants in town although they shut at midnight. Hotel food was ok lunch cooked to order( all inclusive) never did evening meal or entertainment. Hotel very clean cant wait to return.

    “Perfect”

    This was our third time in this comfortable hotel. The rooms are spacious. The buffet food is the best we have had at a buffet. The staff in the hotel work very very hard and smile whilst they do it. The spa is excellent and it is worth chosing a room that includes entry. The hotel is located within 80 metres of the beautiful beach. It's a quiet area but only a few minutes walk into the centre of town. The hotel is due to be refurbished early this summer.
