    “Holiday August/September mr and mrs jackson”

    Stayed 31st august to 10th september 19 10 nights We arrived on saturday 31 August at 10pm,we were greeted on arrival by very friendly receptionist,who explained everything to us clearly and professionly.told us about the safe for hire and how to use it,to the meal times,every question was answered clearly .we were told the way to our room and that there was food available in the buffet restaurant for us for late arrivals,when we got to our room on entry the room was spotlessly clean ,modern decor super comfortable bed ,lovely spacious bathroom and walk in shower with rain shower head as described, again spotlessly clean,everything provided in the bathroom toothbrush shampoo soap and shower gel which wasn’t the cheap stuff we’ve had before,loads of storage space,and a great idea to have a light inside the wardrobe,the drinks cooler / fridge worked brilliantly,as did the air conditioning there was an led tv with 8 english channels bbc 1 2 itv channel 4 channel 5 bbc world news cnn ,outside we had a ground floor room,and it had a nice lil terrace with comfy garden chairs large table,and a lovely garden area,the grounds of the corralejo sands hotel are just impeccable.the gardeners/grounds staff never stop watering the grass cutting it,trimming the trees ,the cleaners do a fantastic job you even get pillow case change daily,they mop the the outside terraces attention to detail of cleanliness is to be commended.the pool bar is great with self serve beer slush puppy,pizza chips,well laid out(ai all inclusive section) fridge full of bottled mineral water endless supply,the drinks overall in the hotel were of great quality,you even got branded drinks like others have mentioned,very rare in other AI hotels unless ur AI plus or have to pay,the evening entertainment was great due to outside acts performing which does take pressure of the animation team,we saw 3 great singers soul mo town singer from south africa the spanish girl,and the lady doing tina turner. all staff from management down to the cleaners were excellent,special mention to roberto on the bar great personality,fun and extremely well mannered,judith my favourite in the restaurant so bubbly great personality fun cheeky just a great lass,danniel in the pool bar,always saying your welcome!!!!! great guy and like all the staff very professional,the food at this hotel has a great choice always hot well cooked and displayed,very informative staff ,food clearly displayed ,waiter service for your drinks great touch, the pool here is delightful nice depth,clearly displayed depths,great jaccusi,and to say the pool is salt water there wasnt loads in in it like at some ive been that made my eyes sting. strongly suggest you ignore the negative reviews this hotel is superb,efficiently run professional and spotlessly clean,the best ive stayed at in the canary islands Would have no hessitation in returning

    “Like visiting a friend”

    I have just returned from my 3rd visit to the hotel in the last 12 months and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is perfectly situated in the town, so benefits from being close to the shops & bars, yet remains quiet & relaxing. The rooms are lovely & clean, with everything you need, and it is easy to get a good nights sleep with comfy beds & pillows. The outside areas are lovely, are really well-tended & like the rooms, are spotless. The food is really good with plenty of choices & the serving staff are friendly & efficient. The chef on the hot plate is particularly friendly and is a great asset to the hotel. What sets this hotel apart though, is the friendliness of the staff, & they truly make staying at the hotel feel as though you are staying with an old friend. Can't wait to return in December. (If you are thinking of going, please don't be like some of the Brits & reserve sunbeds before the allotted time, & then not use them until late in the day, it is really selfish and doesn't show Brits in a good light).

    “Great Holiday”

    Beautiful hotel, very clean and friendly staff,excellant food and service, we stayed half board the food was out standing,great facilities, big pool plenty of sunbeds, separate kids pool.we will definatley be returning.

    “2 Week Family Holiday”

    Firstly, I would like to thank Caroline (Guest Experience Manager) for the birthday card, wishes, champagne & cake. This was a beautiful gesture to return to in our room on my birthday. I sincerely appreciate this personal touch & it contributes to Barcelo’s competitive standards. We stayed as a family of 3 (6 year old daughter) for a 2 week All Inclusive break (Aug - Sept) & overall, we all had a fantastic time. Some of the best main points that are worth a mention about this hotel are as follows: • Room – Spacious, clean & well maintained. Excellent large comfy clean bed. If anything to improve it would be a little more storage area. However, the safe should be included within the cost, not a separate daily fee. • Hotel & grounds – Exceptionally clean & maintained to the highest of standards! Always a clean fresh aroma. • Pool/s – Again, well maintained, constantly kept immaculate & a life guard to supervise but not interfere with fun. • Staff – All found to be extremely polite. Special mention to Maria on reception as she was most helpful in all aspects. Daniel as he always had a smile & his demeanour was enough to make anyone feel happy & welcome. • Animation Team – Extra special mention to Veronica – She is an absolute star! As well as doing her job fabulously, she took time out to play with our daughter (Lexie), taught her to swim, had fun with her & today she is still mentioned daily at home by us all. A true credit to herself & the hotel. Hugo - Lead Animator - He is a comical Mexican that really knows how to make adults smile & we will miss his cocktail making (mixy mixy) afternoons. Mathew - A very helpful gent that wants to get you in the holiday spirit, (he wants you to be crazy not lazy haha). • Breakfast – Fabulous array of food & cooked to lovely standard. The 'big' chef on the grill deserves immense appreciation from customers & Barcelo as he works his fingers to the bone each morning, this encoupled with his ‘loud’ jovial banter, he is a delight to see at the start of each day. • Free Bus Service – This is excellent for the daily trip to La Olivia beach. A very good service. Unfortunately, I feel there is slight room for improvement which would be: • Pool Bar Food (All Inclusive) – 14 days of fries, pizza or a poorly filled sandwich is rather poor for a 4 star hotel. Its so repetitive & not good for healthy eaters.Please introduce more variety. • Pool Bar Food (Menu) – Again, this is very limited but worse, its certainly not 4 star food. I once got the ‘Long Chicken’ which is meant to be a chicken breast in a bun. Honestly, the piece of supposed chicken was smaller than a Pringle crisp. I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara to be given Fusilli Bolognese after a 55 minute wait. It was also pretty tasteless. This menu needs to be seriously reviewed & also implement more options for children such as hot-dogs, toasted sandwiches, chicken bites etc. As for the ice-creams, these are in the form of ‘cheap tubs’ that sit beside branded ice-creams/lollies that need to be purchased separately. Barcelo need to adopt these into the all Inclusive option. • Evening Meal – There is a severe shortage of ‘meats’ at this sitting. We only managed to eat 3 times throughout our stay due to this & this forced us to eat out. Not something I had planned or made a budget for. • Drinks – Barcelo advertise they provide branded international drinks yet if I wanted a cider, I would have to pay for it. Also the same as Budweiser, Stella, Coroner, these had to be paid for but I could drink cocktails valued at 6 – 8 Euro but not have a far cheaper drink without paying for it. This needs addressing as its almost false advertisement and not a good service to customers who want a simple cider. Kopparberg (fruity cider) is sold in most bars in Corralejo, on draught at approx. 3 Euro. I am sure the hotel could have this included to the delight of many customers as this was a sore talking point daily around the pool bar area. • Entertainment – Although the team themselves are fun, in comparison to other hotels it is pretty poor when taking children into account. All entertainment around the pool is directed to adults only and nothing programmed in for kids to join in as a family event. At night, the mini disco lasts for 30 minutes then that’s their night time over with. To me a disco should consist of flashing lights as a minimum but there is literally nothing. Furthermore, the adult entertainment only lasts a maximum of 90 minutes. So that’s a mere 2 hours each evening. I also asked Hugo if we could have music left on after aqua gym – apparently its not permitted as not all people want to hear music. I would disagree as people want to get in the holiday spirit. If people want to listen to their own music, they can(majority had ear phones in). This is probably due to having nothing but a silent pool atmosphere which totally dampens the holiday vibe. Finally, upon checking out of the hotel, I was told that All Inclusive is now finished & we have to pay for any food & drink. I have travelled the world staying in 4/5 star hotels yet not once have I been told to pay for food & drink on my final day. Also, considering when I paid £4,000 for a 14 day All Inclusive holiday, I expect it to be for the entire holiday. I raised this annoyance with reception staff and they said I need to speak with my tour operator as its nothing to do with the hotel. I said I think this will be the hotel as it has nothing to do with my tour operator. However, a Jet2 rep walked by & I questioned him. He declared it will be hotel policy and they (Jet2) will not be impressed to learn this & I should make sure they are informed once I return to the UK. As we do not arrive until 9:50pm on our first day, I am sure it would not put Barcelo ‘out of pocket’ to leave there guests to have one final meal & a cool drink before their flight home. I fully understand that rooms should be handed-over for the next occupants but to be refused refreshments is pretty much nothing short of greed, especially after a 2 week all inclusive stay. I hope this will be raised with Barcelo management as there was another 6 families in disgust with this policy and it could potentially, jeopardise returning customers. We did have a fantastic time in Corralejo and we will be returning next year. However, if it is to be Barcelo Sands, I would like to learn of some changes prior to this. It is a fabulously, clean hotel with outstanding staff and it has the chance to adopt a few improvements I mentioned and I speak for many holiday makers that were in resort at the same time as us. Thank you Barcelo Sands for our first visit, please keep in contact to make us return again.

We are sorry to read that our a la cart lunch menu did not meet your expectations and although it has been studied so as to guarantee a varied assortment of dishes like entrecote, salads, spare ribs, pizzas, prawns,...prepared with local products to please the most demanding palates, we will not fail to share your comments with our Executive Chef for information and further revision. We also regret your disappointment regarding the extra charge for the Strongbow Cider for our All Inclusive guests. We would like to take the opportunity to point out that only a few Premium liquors are not included and subject to a reduced extra charge comparing to the prices charged for other types of meal plans in the hotel. Furthermore, we understand reading your review that apparently you were not properly informed upon reservation that your All Inclusive type of meal plan would end at 12.00 on your departure day, although this information should be reported on the booking confirmation by the tour-operator. We would like to take the opportunity to explain that by offering our A.I. in an à la carte menu, we have a service standard to guarantee towards our guests, so they can enjoy it to the fullest. Due to the high occupancy of our hotel and the limited capacity of our restaurant we are not able to guarantee this standard extending the A.I. . Nevertheless we will not fail to share your comments with our management for information and further revision.     Could not really find fault, was a great holiday from start to finish. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Close to the shops and beach. The pool was great the service was second to none, entertainment was good. And the entertainment staff was absolutely amazing

    I have just returned from my 3rd visit to the hotel in the last 12 months and it didn't disappoint. We did have a fantastic time in Corralejo and we will be returning next year. However, if it is to be Barcelo Sands, I would like to learn of some changes prior to this. It is a fabulously, clean hotel with outstanding staff and it has the chance to adopt a few improvements I mentioned and I speak for many holiday makers that were in resort at the same time as us. Thank you Barcelo Sands for our first visit, please keep in contact to make us return again.

    Dear Paul, Thank you for choosing our Barceló Corralejo Sands hotel for your first visit to Fuerteventura. Your detailed review will certainly assist in order to keep on improving the quality of our services for our valued guests. We are sorry to read that our a la cart lunch menu did not meet your expectations and although it has been studied so as to guarantee a varied assortment of dishes like entrecote, salads, spare ribs, pizzas, prawns,...prepared with local products to please the most demanding palates, we will not fail to share your comments with our Executive Chef for information and further revision. We also regret your disappointment regarding the extra charge for the Strongbow Cider for our All Inclusive guests. We would like to take the opportunity to point out that only a few Premium liquors are not included and subject to a reduced extra charge comparing to the prices charged for other types of meal plans in the hotel. Furthermore, we understand reading your review that apparently you were not properly informed upon reservation that your All Inclusive type of meal plan would end at 12.00 on your departure day, although this information should be reported on the booking confirmation by the tour-operator. We would like to take the opportunity to explain that by offering our A.I. in an à la carte menu, we have a service standard to guarantee towards our guests, so they can enjoy it to the fullest. Due to the high occupancy of our hotel and the limited capacity of our restaurant we are not able to guarantee this standard extending the A.I. . Nevertheless we will not fail to share your comments with our management for information and further revision. On the other hand, we are trilled to read you enjoyed the beauty of the room we allocated you in and appreciate the highlight on the beds because at Barceló we are fully aware that a basic function in any hotel is to guarantee comfortable and satisfying nights' sleep to our guests. We are also grateful for your highlight on the efforts of our housekeeping staff to keep our pool area and accommodations spotless at all times in order to guarantee our high standards related to hygiene and cleanliness which is one of the most important aspects. Last but not least, it fills us with pride that you enjoyed the birthday surprise that much and we thank you for your kind words towards our staff, we are glad to hear that they all contributed to your wellbeing whilst staying among us, from the reception team, doing their utmost to assist our guests in any possible way to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay, our entertainment team with their enthusiasm and energy, inviting our guests to take part into the lively sports and leisure activities throughout the day and our Mini Club team, with their kindness and professionalism taking care of our little guests and ensuring that they have a nice time and bring back home good memories of their holidays among us.     Could not really find fault, was a great holiday from start to finish. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Close to the shops and beach. The pool was great the service was second to none, entertainment was good. And the entertainment staff was absolutely amazing
