    “Aruba Hopi Bon !!!”

    I spend a couple of weeks at the Barcelo in aruba. I've been treated very well by the entire staff! I'm so happy to have met such good people 😊! Smiling, helpful ... the hotel was nice to. The room are always clean. Beautiful view on the sea. The restaurants are good and the staff is incredible!! To many names to mention but some of them need to be mentioned : special thanks to Gerald always very professional and helpful, Juan always working hard and offcourse all the very smiling girls that make you want to smile on return. So natural. Thanks to Vanessa, Doris, Millian, Milene, Flores, Janice, Chaqcedy... when I'll be back in aruba it will be at the Barcelo,because the hotel is great but the people that work there are greater! Thanks a lot again! See you soon. Max

    “10 Days in Paradise”

    Great place, great people, great weather. We love Aruba. There is a feeling that you are family when you stay at the Barcelo Grand in Aruba. Many people have worked there for years. They seem to love their job and make you feel very special. They always remember us and welcome us with open arms.

    “Barcelo Aruba major improvements!!”

    Our overall experience was great! Barcelo made some significant improvements since it took over the Occidental with all of its amenities. The beds are of superior quality and comfort. The service on the 9th floor restaurant was perfect. George and the rest of the restaurant staff were always courteous and accommodating to our needs. Across from the restaurant is Sandra and her staff which was very helpful setting up our reservations and making sure we always had what we needed. The beach is amazing. Long strip of sand which you can walk to either side without any vendor disruptions. The water is beautiful turquoise with some areas that had little seaweed but very clean. Alex and Clara at the beach bar were great with their service and making you feel welcome each time as if you were part of the family. We did a few of the restaurants but the one that really stood out was Kyoto. It stood out over the others by leaps and bounds all around. Kudos to Barcelo and its team for making our family vacation and fun and relaxing one!

    “Barcelo-Aruba great combination ”

    Just spent two glorious weeks at the newly named Barcelo all inclusive hotel on Palm Beach Aruba. (Formerly the Occidental)This was my ninth year on Aruba......my little piece of paradise. Located strategically in the middle of the beautiful Palm Beach steps from the beautiful ocean that surrounds the leeward side of Aruba. Great hotel, great location, amazing personal service with attentive caring staff that can't do enough to make your stay perfect. The FIRST CLUB staff including Ivette, Marolyn, and Belinda and SANDRA of the Royal Club are as good as it gets for service professionals that will insure for you a perfect vacation. Barcelo already has renovated the Lobby BAR and Casino. They also renovated the fitness center which really needs to be made somewhat larger but the new company appears to be dedicated to reinvest and improve the property. I would be less than candid if I did not bring up that the all inclusive food is not on par with this beautiful property and their wonderful staff. The Four Specialty restaurants, Italian, Asian, Mexican, Aruban and the two buffets are average at best. The Island generally has really good restaurants so it is very disappointing that Barcelo as an all inclusive does not make it a priority to elevate the quality of their food. Based on the improvements I have seen so far from Barcelo, I will remain cautiously optimistic that they will offer better food soon. Right now my opinion is that the food is just adequate but even with the food issue, I still had a wonderful vacation, at a reasonable price, at a top notch facility, in an amazing location on beautiful Aruba.

    “ARUBA GREAT-BARCELO ?”

    The Pros,The Cons.-Cons first.Please bear with me ,I do not like all-inclusive .The Food.-Your are a captured audience so the hotel has no incentive but to serve what I consider to be mediocre selections at best.I see a lot of people load up plates with food ,so I must be in the minority but bear with me I come from a culinary mecca where quality food is commonplace.Suggestion,spend a couple bucks and try a real Arubian restaurant,I'm sure you will love it.An all-inclusive encourages ,in some not all,the excess consumption of alcohol.This leads to drunks staggering down the hallways at all hours,uncontrolled screaming at the pool/beach and pounding at your door at 2 am.Not what I call fun.The hotel,knowing the environment it has created ,has the responsibility to have adequate security.It does not.The last time I looked the hotel was rated 24 out of 37,that should say enough.The Pros.PEOPLE<PEOPLE<PEOPLE.The people working at the hotel are the best.LOCATION>LOCATION>LOCATION.Second to none,convenient to everything.The BEACH,Best in Aruba.The HOTEL-Trying to upgrade appearance.Keep it up.And Aruba itself-A great place to vacation.
