Black Jack

Black Jack is a card game that consists of getting 21 points from the total value of your cards. The numbered cards are simply added-up, the face cards are worth 10 and an ace is worth 11 or 1 (if 11 makes the player exceed 21). If a player gets 21 with just two cards, it is considered a Black Jack and they win automatically. And pays 3 to 2.

It is played in a semicircle, with capacity for up to 7 players, each player has a square marked into the felt cover in front of them to place a bet before each hand. This bet should be made on each hand, before the first card is played.

American Roulette

A game of chance that consists of a croupier spinning a ball over the moving roulette wheel, after the ball has spun around the wheel several times it eventually falls into one of the numbered pockets on the wheel. The objective is to predict which pocket the ball is going to fall into.

The croupier announces the start of a new game with "place your bets", this is when players may start to place bets on the following game, until the croupier says "no more bets". After the betting has closed, the croupier spins the ball in the opposite direction of the moving wheel, when the balls falls into one of the pockets, the croupier announces the winning number. Then the losing chips are removed from the table and the winning bets are paid out.

Consult the scoring table to see the bets that can be placed, how many numbers are being played with each bet and how much could be won in each case.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is based on 5 progressive Poker cards, except that the player bets against the dealer instead of betting against the other players. Caribbean stud poker is played with a 52 card pack without jokers.

The player places an initial bet (ante bet), and is then dealt 5 cards facing upwards. The dealer also receives 5 cards, 4 cards facing down and the final one face up. Now it is the turn of the player, who has to decide to "play" or "fold" each turn.
If the player decides to "raise", they must place an additional bet, exactly double the initial bet (ante bet). If the player decides to "fold", he/she loses the initial bet. If the player decides to play or raise, the dealer reveals the 4 remaining cards. The dealer must qualify to play, with a hand of poker consisting of an Ace/King or higher.

If the dealer's hand does not qualify, only the ante bets of players whose hands beat the dealer's get paid while the respective raise-bets all push (return to their respective players unpaid). If the dealer's hand qualifies, the dealer compares their cards to the player's cards.

If the player's hand is higher than the dealer's hand, the player wins and gets a one-to-one payout of their ante bet plus any raised bets, according to the odds-table below.

If the dealer's hand is higher than the player, the player loses both bets (ante and raised).

If the player's and dealer's hands are equal ("tie", the 5 cards are identical in value), the ante bet and raised bet are returned to the player.

Winning combinations (in the event of the dealer's hand winning):

· Ace/King: a hand containing an ace and a king (for example: A, Q, 2, K, 7).
· Pair: a pair of cards of the same value (for example: A, A, Q, J, 6).
· Double pair: two pairs of cards of the same value (for example: Q, Q, 3, 6, 6).
· Trio: 3 cards of the same value (for example: K, K, K, Q, 10).
· Flush: 5 cards of consecutive values and different suits (for example: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Ace can be high or low - A, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10, J, Q, K, A).
· Colour: 5 cards of non-progressive value of the same suit (for example: 2, 5, 10, J, A and all of the same suit - Spades, Hearts, Clubs or Diamonds).
· Full: 3 cards of the same value plus another 2 of the same value (for example: K, K, K, A, A).
· Poker: 4 cards of the same value (for example: 7, 7, 7, 7, J).
· Colour flush: 5 cards of progressive values from the same suit (for example 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and all of the same suit - Spades, Hearts, Clubs or Diamonds).
· Royal Flush: 5 cards of progressive value and from the same suit, starting with a 10 and ending with an ace (for example: 10, J, Q, K, A and all from the same suit - Spades, Hearts, Clubs or Diamonds).

Texas Hold'em Poker

In Texas Hold'em each player is dealt 2 cards face down (hole cards) and 5 community cards are dealt to the table. To obtain the best hand the player must build a combination of 5 cards that can be: the player's 2 cards plus 3 community cards, 1 of the player's cards and 4 community cards, or even 5 community cards if the result was the best hand. Learn about Poker hand values.

Once you learn what the hands are worth and how to build them, it is important to learn about the play and get familiar with the rounds of bets and the dealing.

The first phase is known as the pre-flop play. Each player is dealt 2 cards which only he/she can see. The game always goes clockwise, meaning the cards are dealt from left to right starting with the dealer, who is always the last to make a bet in the first betting round.

The player to the left of the button is called the small blind or SB, the immediate next left is known as the big blind or BB. The blinds mark the compulsory bets that must be made in each hand. Generally, the big blind is double the small blind. In each successive hand the position of the blinds rotates to each one of the players at the table.

Once the blinds have been set and the cards have been dealt, the first player to play is the one to the left of the big blind. In this phase, known as pre-flop, the players have 3 possibilities of having a turn:

· Fold: If the player gets a hand that has few chances of winning then the they are allowed to fold play without making a bet.
· Call: The player may equal the value of the minimum bet (big blind value) and continue playing their hand.
· Raise: The player may raise the value of the compulsory bet, by a value that must be at least equal to the blind.

Once all players have equalled the amount of the highest bet or have decided to fold, the first 3 community cards are dealt: the flop.

The flop

The first 3 cards are displayed in the centre of the table, known as the flop. After these cards have been dealt, the second round of betting takes place with the players that are still in the game after the pre-flop. The first to play is always the player nearest to the button from left to right. This time the options are reduced to only 2: bet or check.

If the first player places a verbal bet, the options for the next player are extended again and the new player will have 3 possible options; to fold, call or raise.

As in the pre-flop or flop, when all the players still in the round have equalled the highest bet, the 4th community card is dealt; the turn.

The turn

After revealing the flop, the 4th card, known as the turn, is dealt. Once this happens, the third round of betting opens. The turns and actions are the same as with the flop. The player seated in the first position to the left of the button is the first to speak and the options are the same: check, bet, or raise, as long as someone has made a bet.

The river

The last card dealt is known as the river. After dealing this card comes the final round of betting in the same order as the previous rounds. Once the players have equalled all the bets, they show their cards to the other players, and the player with the highest-value hand wins the pot. In the event of a draw, the pot is shared out equally.
