    “Palma Real has lost it's charm”

    This was my 5th trip to Palma Real. I waa so disappointed. Building 4 was closed. Furst room had ants in the bed. Second room was mouldy in the bathroom and all over the curtains. 3 different times I had some rype of frog come up through the toilet. The food was a huge disappointment this time. Many times it was cold and dried out. I ate in town at night. I love the staff here but this is not their fault. The new owners need to hire someone to actually manage and get some decent standards back. I travel alone and always felt safe here. I hate the thought of having to change hotels but it appears that is what will happen this trip.

    “What a hole......but location is good”

    Now lets be honest....this place is filthy The only good thing about this resort is its location Here is what you will see Rooms 1- Its a 2 star hotel at the most 2- all seem to be filthy 3- beds are of very little quality and disgusting 4- bed sheets that are suppose to be white are grey 5- bed sheets are changed very few times 6- bed cover are probably 25 years old. Wonder last time they wash them 7- towels that were on the floor to be changed were simply folded and put back on counter 8- running out of hot water is expected 9- noise at night is normal as security personnel does not care. I simply don't understand how security personnel can ignore the people who are yelling in the middle of the night. Buffet restaurant 1- many employees in the buffet have dirty clothes 2- food trays are not cleaned in between 3- dishes are only rinse as far as I am concerned. 4- no salt and pepper shaker on tables. They will bring you salt in a plate that you use your fingers to take. These plate of salt and pepper are for everyone. How many filthy fingers have been in there......disgusting 5- table cloth cover are changed maybe every three days 6- entering the buffet you will be greeted by bad smell 7- food presentation is awful 8- only one person to cook eggs in the morning so get ready to wait 9- same food all week Pool area 1- new umbrellas and chairs WOW 2- many dangerous holes around pool that they were finally filled with cement on my last day. Why did it take so long to do.....:( 3- cigarettes butts all over 4- entertainment of very poor quality 5- towels only available when they want Lobby bar 1- very few coffee cups on site. They often use plastic cups 2- coffee machine is extremely slow.....:( 2- Four huge glass window are missing 3- Ladies washroom only opened on last day 4- washrooms close to the reception closed for renovation 5- very noisy at all times Beach area 1- a five minute walk which is very decent 2- a pile of garbage in the middle of the road arriving at the beach was there when I arrived and was still there when I left (7 days) 3- many chairs are sickening to see and time for them to be put out of service 4- if you arrive after 10:00 in the morning good luck getting a chair 5- restaurant at the beach as a little selection of food but they still managed to be out of french fries, hot dogs and club soda water. Be ready to EAT COLD FOOD 6- beach bar was often out of the very basic drinks. beer, rum, cola and club soda water The only good thing this hotel offers is its location and a very decent beach so if cleanliness is not something you care about and willing to pay no more than $650.00 go. Not once did we have dinner in the hotel. I did ask to have a late check out free of charge and they obliged as a way of compensation. Thank you Hotel management I would love to hear your thoughts on my comments especially about the lack of security and the disgusting buffet area.

    “filthy resort bad staff”

    jan 9 2019 jan 16 2019 the stay here was the worst ever room was filthy and dirty staff didn't seem to care, I have furthered my compliant to air Canada with the front desk and cleaning staff smoking in hallway with no clean towels and sheets bedding was so filthy towels dirty pillows moldy and air Canada rep was not good, we where told we could have a room day we leavening to shower after beach and when ask we had no room the front desk where rude and kept saying there was no room as we stood in lobby wet from beach waiting our bus to air port finally give a room with NO RUNNING WATER and front desk laughing I had met other people at resort with similar experiences and will never return to your resort again as they too are going to post on social media of the poor resort" Allegro Palma Real" is, bathrooms in lobby were disgusting filthy with human waste on the seats of bathroom no toilet paper no flush dirty for days and stunk so bad it was sad to see the staff didn't care about the resort or their jobs, with the pool being so dirty with cigarette butts and empty cups all over.

    “Still a Great Location if you like to be in Town...but”

    This was my second trip to this hotel in the past year. Many things remain the same, but change is in the air. In the meantime, I was less pleased with my stay this time. This is an older resort that has suffered some neglect in recent years and it seems that the management is attempting to address some of the issues that have arisen. For example, the elevators in building one and four do not work. They seem to be working on them and awaiting parts. You can use the small service elevators, but this is not the best solution. Rooms are being repaired, tiles are being replaced, halls are being painted, etc. Be aware of this. There were some funky smells about and getting a change of room was a bit of a pain. One person in our group had a broken door lock and instead of just moving him, he was told to come back at 2 pm the next day. The Havana Club disco that was closed last year is now open. I have no first-hand knowledge of what it was like, but my companions went and seemed to enjoy it. They did say that you should beware of broken glass on the dance floor as the night progresses--maybe wear some sensible shoes. One of the off-shoots of the disco being open is that the lobby bar now closes at 11 pm. This leaves the snack bar as the only source for a drink other than the disco. I wasn't fond of this arrangement. I would like to see a few more options for getting a drink which would also thin out the crowds in the lobby after the pool bar closes. Also, my companions reported almost daily uproar in their area of the hotel around disco closing time. Personally, I think the staff are doing a decent job under difficult circumstances. They are adapting to new procedures, some of which make things more difficult for them. If I return, it will be to see them. Overall, if you are not very picky and want an inexpensive option in town this might suit you.

    “Worst experience in Cuba”

    I spent 2 awful nights in here from 25 to 27/12/2017 all inclusive. This hotel is falling apart: - Elevator not working - The room smells bad, very humid - Airco can't be turned off - Room's door is miraculously standing - Food is disgusting - Buffet area smells really bad - Snack bar doesn't have half of the menu If you still have the possibility to cancel your booking with this hotel, just do it. The only 2 good things are: - The beach is really good - The staff at the reception are very helpful and you can leave your lagguage safely for free in a secure room if you need to check out late.
