    “Physique is nice but the service needs improvement”

    beautiful setting. Needs more staff, waiters aren't the friendliest bunch to say the least. Breakfast is very very understaffed and is definitely sub standard for a 5 star hotel. And lets not even begin talking about dinner... Honestly, much potential, a pity. Rooms are quite nice, standard business hotel rooms.

    “The King is only Barcelo Monasterio de Boltana”

    Nothing will be the same if You try this hotel... Location, food, service - everything is more than You expected. It was my second stay and there is no disapointment. Fantastic place, fantastic people (i mean staff).

    “Non-existent service”

    Decent rooms, location OK, atmosphere fine - but the restaurant was clearly sub-standard. Worst of all - our third night two private festivities were scheduled, with the result that the hotel closed its restaurant in order to cater to the two separate events that were held outdoors. The hotel also refused room service of any kind, refused to produce even a toast. Everything closed. (When we checked in the front desk guy said there should be no problems having an early, 8 pm, dinner either of the days during our stay) In my 35 years of travel as an adult I have never had a worse experience, anywhere. The worst.

    “Just made me run away”

    We went asking for a room price, since initially I checked the hotel availability thru Expedia I wanted to be sure that it would be the same.... Which wasn’t. Then the lady at the counter checked something on the computer without saying a word, answered phone and apparently started to take another booking, then left... so did we. If you pretend to be a five stars, then I have two advices to the Manager: - Visit the competition - Train your staff. They badly needed it.

    “Great bits, good bits and not so good bits”

    We stayed in the hotel for two nights in April. The hotel and its surrounding are very pretty. There are lots of spacious public areas to relax, work or read in. The Spa is nice, but pretty expensive, considering you can only book for one hour, which hardly gives you enough time to enjoy the pool with all its features, the Sauna and the steam room. There are only three beds to relax on in the waiting room before you go for a treatment. The treatment itself (full body massage) however was very good. Even though the weather wasn't great, we still went on a couple of walks to explore the surrounding area. It was the week after Easter and most of the restaurants nearby (including the highly recommended one at the nearby campsite) were sadly closed, so we ended up having dinner in the bar of the hotel on our first evening. Food choice was very limited and boring. The food itself was bland and service inattentive. Next evening we ate in the restaurant after not having found another alternative in walking distance. We both went for pasta dishes which were ok, but the service was not what you'd expect in a 4 start hotel and at those prices (nobody took our soaking wet jackets, but we ended up hanging them over the backs of our chairs and it went on like that...). I'd give this hotel 3 1/2 stars, because of the poor dining experiences and compared to other hotels in Spain it's a 3 star rating on here.
