    “Great beach property in Cozumel!”

So many great things about Allegro! The beach is awesome. Gorgeous spot for the sunset. The pools are nice, but I'm more of an ocean person. There are little animals wandering the property which is very cute and interesting. The rooms are nice and the water pressure is good. The food is decent. Lots to do right on the property and there is a car rental place across the street if you want an adventure!

    “Very enjoyable stay”

The resort is beautiful with very clean grounds and pools. The rooms are small but adequate and very clean, bed comfy,a/c worked great ,lots of hot water etc. My husband and I stayed in 6313 the Superior Premium package.Rooms closer to the beach and private pool, premium booze, free wifi in lobby( Did not use this as I bought a Mexican SIM card on amazon - worked like a charm and little club house - The Buffet - Breakfast was great, never had lunch there always at the pool snackbar and Dinner was ok- there was always something to eat. The Japanese was very good and we ate at the Mexican twice. The Beach was incredible- clean lots of loungers and shade We rented a jeep for 4 days with Renatdora - in town and great ! no problems. The staff were gracious, lovely and went out of their way to make our stay in Cozumel superb.

“AWESOME STAY! I don't know what the bad reviews are about??”

What I should probably mention right up front is that we were told we were visiting the Allegro during the off season. A staff member told us they were only at about 30% occupancy and that come December 15 they would be at about 120% occupancy (they sell day passes to locals on the weekends). I would imagine that someone visiting the resort during the busy season may have a different experience than the one we had during the off season. The resort is a modest size (which we liked) but if at full capacity I would think there would be some issues with line ups, seating room in the restaurants, etc. Something to note. Check-in was pretty easy. No line up, however rooms were not ready upon arrival (2pm). We ate, got some drinks, walked around for a bit and when we came back around 3:30 our rooms were ready (we traveled with another couple and they accommodated us having rooms close together - same building). Rooms were clean, nice, and modern. Our friends had an upstairs room and we had a downstairs room. There wasn't much of a difference between the two other than the ceilings. In the upstairs rooms the ceilings are vaulted and thatched. They're REALLY pretty and made the room feel more spacious but our friends said that it was a bit noisy. We didn't have much issue with noise BUT we did have an issue with a drain backing up. I was taking a shower one evening while my boyfriend was sitting outside out front door. He noticed water pouring out of the front door. While I was in the shower, a drain beside the toilet (outside the shower) backed up (just with water thank goodness). Now while this was a minor inconvenience I wouldn't let this scare anyone from coming here. This can literally happen ANYWHERE. What is more important to note is that we called the front desk and they sent a maid to clean and a maintenance man to fix the issue honestly probably within 5 minutes of us calling. We had laid down towels in the meantime. We were a little nervous about staying in the same room in case it happened again, so my boyfriend went to the front desk and they gave him no hassle about us switching rooms. From the time this all happened (7pm), we were in our new room and at our a la carte reservation by 8:15pm. Did I WANT this to happen? No. Did it phase me and ruin my vacation? Also, no. The hotel handled the issue beautifully which really speaks to their service. Every single employee I came in contact with was nothing but nice and friendly. The rooms were ALWAYS cleaned, the fridges were ALWAYS stocked. One day we saw the guy that stocks the fridges and my boyfriend asked for a couple extra beers and waters. The next day we came back to our room and we had like ...8 beers in there or something like that. Servers at the restaurants were also great. I need to give a special shout out to SERGIO COB. He works the breakfast and lunch buffet. We befriended him the first day and after that he would always make sure we sat in his section at the buffet and he would always take extra good care of us. Everyone was great, but he was a huge standout. The beach bartender (I forget his name :() was also great. Always would strike up a conversation and try to teach us Spanish. And then there was also the guy that would deliver drinks to you on the beach. Honestly, we barely had to get up for drinks!! I didn't have a lot of experience with the entertainment staff. I've been to some resorts where they harass you to participate in the daily activities (which I don't like) but here I never got asked (which was nice, but sometimes I didn't know when there was anything going on). We caught a couple night time shows. The light show and the break dancing show. Both were actually super entertaining. They weren't elaborate with crazy costumes or broadway type singing and dancing but they were a lot of fun. The break dancers even put on a show in the disco after their performance which was a lot of fun! The disco was dead most nights, but again we were there during the quiet season and the resort was only 30% full. We drove by Senior Frogs downtown one night and it looked like it was the place to be although we never made it there. The food in my opinion was not bad at all. The breakfast buffet was great. Omelette station was never too busy. They also had a smoothie station. You could pick your fruit and veggies and they would make you a smoothie/juice. There was bacon about half of the week (this doesn't really make a different to me either way, but people seem to really like their bacon). The donuts were also REALLY delicious. The lunch buffet by the beach was also very good. They had nachos with all the fixings, pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets, fries, pasta, tacos/fajitas, salad. All of which was good! A couple of days they made food on a grill by the pool. That food was good as well. The dinner buffet was our least favorite of the three. The pasta station was good ...but everything else was just kind of meh. We only ate here twice though, as we ate in town a few times and also went to two a la cartes. We went to the Mexican and Japanese restaurant on the resort. I have NO idea why the Mexican a la carte gets so many bad reviews. It was amazing and probably one of our favs of the week! Our waiter Osmand was amazing. We celebrated my birthday this night and he always made sure our glasses were full of sparkling wine, and he brought out cake and candles and sang happy birthday to me! The Japanese restaurant was also very good. If you've ever been to a Japanese a la carte at another resort it's the same show, which is a lot of fun! And the food is really good! Side note: the a la cartes were VERY easy to book, which I've had some nightmare experiences with this at other resorts. If you want to go for a nice dinner in town you need to try Casa Mission. It was AMAZING and on beautiful grounds. A taxi cost about $20 USD one way(for 4 of us - I don't think this is bad??). We got apps, soup, a bottle of wine, beers, two people got lobster, the other two of us got AMAZING, FILLING meals and then we finished with "sexy coffee". Our bill was $125 USD for four of us. Which in my opinion is cheap. Anyway, I know this isn't about the resort, but just a side little tip!! The resort itself is beautiful. They were getting ready for Christmas when we were there so the trees along the main paths were decorated with lights, and there was a huge poinsettia Christmas tree in the front lobby. The grounds were clean. The beach was AMAZING. This is where we spent most of our time. It was a little wavy for a couple of days (which we were told is uncommon for that side of the island), but it actually helped wash away some of the shells on the shore which made it nicer for walking in the water. It was one of the nicest beaches I've been to and I've been to Aruba, Cuba, Dominican, Spain, other parts of Mexico, etc. Not to mention not many resorts on the island of Cozumel have a beach at all, never mind one as nice as this one. This resort is also on the smaller size, which was nice. We didn't have to walk 5 miles to get from the beach to the buffet, or from our rooms to the pool. Everything was within a 5 minute walk at the absolute most. No one in our group dove, but we did a sunset catamaran tour. We snorkeled at a couple of reefs which was nice. I probably wouldn't pay to do this again, but it was fun. We also rented a Jeep from Fox Rentals (directly across the street from the resort). We rented our own Jeep ...we did not do an organized Jeep tour. We paid $100 USD for the day in the Jeep, and that included full insurance. The time share people at the resort said they could get a Jeep rental for $30 but we never really explored that because we figured it was a scam (could have been legit - not sure, but sounds unlikely). Renting the Jeep was one of my fav parts of the trip. We drove around the island, stopped at a couple of beaches, did a tequila tour, went to Coconuts Restaurant. Definitely worth the money! All in all this was a great resort and we had a great time. However, I could see that had the resort been busier it might have been a bit more frustrating with respect to wait times and things like that. I would visit this resort again at the same time of year and would definitely recommend to others (maybe not people who are looking to party though).

“Incredible Diving with Pro Dive International and superb service at Allegro Cozumel”

Summary: The Allegro Cozumel resort is comfortable, clean, has some amazing staff. Pro Dive International SCUBA diving is on site and is a top-notched operation. For avid divers, I would highly recommend staying at Allegro Cozumel. Getting to Cozumel: It would be best to fly directly into Cozumel if you get a good deal. If you find the best deal is for you to fly into Cancun, you will have to take a bus (or van or taxi) to the ferry (45-60 minutes), do the ferry crossing (45 minutes) and then, take another taxi from the ferry to the resort (20 minutes. DO NOT buy your ferry tickets at the airport. Show up at the dock and buy your ticket from whichever company (there are 3) that has the next ferry departure. If you buy from the airport you may be waiting over an hour to catch a particular boat! Our ferry crossing was not cruise-ship smooth. Lots of people “lost it” so if you are prone to seasickness, fly into Cozumel! The resort: Our group of three divers arrived just after the Thanksgiving holiday; perhaps a slower time of the year. Allegro was not overly crowded during our stay so finding chairs around the pool or on the beach was never a problem. The grounds were well maintained and the beach was quite amenable to swimming. Our room was comfortable and clean and certainly lived up to our expectations which may not be quite as high as some travelers would demand. The food: Three specialty restaurants: Mexican (open air near the pools) and a Japanese and Italian restaurant are located indoors. These required advanced reservations; we tried all three. Diego is one of the restaurant managers. He and his phenomenal staff of waiters and chefs made our dining experiences memorable. Excellent selections on the menus, staff who remembered your preferences from day to day and delicious food were above expectation. Even for those days that we dined in the buffet, we could not complain about the ample selection and quality of the meals. Breakfast opened at 7:00 AM. If you are a diver planning on being on the 8:00 boats, this left enough time to have a good meal and be on the dock by the 7:45 AM gathering time. The SCUBA diving: I have never used Pro Dive International for diving before, but will look for any opportunity to use them again! We are three experienced divers so we’ve dived with all sorts of outfits. Pro Dive ranks amongst the top. Pro Dive is located at the edge of Cozumel Allegro’s property; actually about 200 feet from our room. They will store your gear securely overnight so we didn’t have to schlep our stuff back and forth each day. Each evening, the staff posted what boat you were on, who your dive master was, where you were going, how many dives you were doing and if you were on Nitrox or Air. I was impressed with the logistics and the seamlessness by which their organizational efforts played out. They captains and crews are expert, always willing to help and are extremely safety conscious. We were fortunate to have Juan as our DM for 4 of the 5 days we dove with them at Allegro. Before each dive, his briefings were complete. On the dives he was always aware, quick to point out marine life, and on top of each diver’s profile – whether on air or on Nitrox. Our dives were anywhere from 45 minutes to 60 minutes in length depending on the depth of each site. For our last day of diving, Matt was our DM and we were quite content with him as well. We never did the same dive twice. My recommendation: ask ahead of time which sites are being scheduled for the day – perhaps you want more structure or you want more open; schedule your dives accordingly if you’d like. Our final day of diving took us back to Play del Carmen where Pro Dive set us up with doing 2 Cenotes dives. The Allegro Pro Dive staff clearly spelled out what time we would need to catch a taxi back to the ferry, which ferry we would need to take and where and how we would identify our driver on the mainland side. We dove the Cenotes with Matthew as our DM; Laura took two other divers. Both DMs were incredible. My advice: as a diver, you won’t be disappointed. Hanging around the pool? There will be kids there – enjoy ‘em! The food is very good. Sure, maybe you didn’t get coffee replenished in your room one morning – deal with it! There is an espresso machine in the Mexican restaurant or buffet! My point, don’t sweat the little nuances that you’ll find anywhere you travel. Enjoy what is being offered and the people who are serving you on your vacation. I highly recommend Allegro Cozumel and Pro Dive International.

Pokud máte slevový kód, zadejte jej a bude vám odečtena příslušná sleva v této rezervaci.
