    “April Stay”

    Stayed 3 nights here in April. Had been in a house in La Punta for a week prior and decided to stay here for a few nights for something different. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are very nice. We upgraded to the Premium level and I would say it was worth it. Had a seperate checkin area where you could eat and get your own drinks. The lounge also had computers and tv. Having the premium band allowed you to get better liquor as well as reservations at the restaurants. My wife loved being able to reserve a private bed on the beach each day. The food in the Japanese was ok. The Mexican had the best views and the food was good. They have a piano in the lobby and we loved the guy playing on the weekend. Great spot to have a drink and enjoy the music. The rooms were very nice with top grade bedding. Bathrooms were spacious with double sinks tub and seperate shower.

    “Great resort!”

    The resort is very nice! Only a short 20-30 minute bus ride from the manzanilla airport. Very local area, only a few resorts and then some local hotels and condos. Nice local area, very friendly. The resort has a nice lobby bar and seating area. The a la carte restaurants were good, I would recommend the Italian and Mexican. Not so much on the Japanese but the buffet had a "Asian night" and it had pretty good sushi. The Italian was awesome with big portions. The BBQ buffet is a nice setting and pretty good food. The buffet is good for breakfast and lunch with plenty of choices. The snack bar by the beach has burgers, hot dogs and tacos. Also Ice cream, fruit and a few other items. Good service with drinks everywhere and the waiters and bartenders are all nice and don't hassle you for tips. Smaller beach area is the talk about this resort, we DID NOT have trouble getting chairs on the beach and I enjoyed the swimming area. The pools are nice but it was a busy week and they were crowded with kids, the adult only pool is a nice option. Hot tub is also nice but busy later in the day. The rooms are very nice, you can tell they are a few years old but have some updating and are very beautiful. Nice views of the ocean and bay! Very very scenic resort!! Going off the resort was fine! We walked the streets and down to Walmart. It seems somewhat rundown with many empty and deserted building. Nice locals make it seem safe. Games room at resort with pool tables, foosball and ping pong is fun. Waterslide for kids. The 2 workers that have hawks to keep the birds away are awesome! What a great idea! No birds stealing food and causing a mess :) So hot and sunny especially later in the year! We had 7 days of +32 and blue skies. Awesome vibe to this resort, I would recommend over many other areas I've visited in Mexico!

    “Wonderful hotel!”

    Very impressed by the cleanliness of this facility. The staff were terrific and friendly and very attentive to the guests. I was also very pleased to see the amount of security at this hotel, including throughout the resort itself, along the perimeter with locked access, and the front gate. The only downside was the beach which is very small and in a securely secluded area. It was not really sand but more like pebbles with many larger rocks and, as a result, more guests spent time at the pools. In saying this, there are plenty of pools and always chairs and umbrellas available. Great for kids as well! The ala carte restaurants were a highlight, especially the Japanese restaurant. All in all, we were very pleased!

    “Holly week ”

    Nice hotel and good services, however there were a lot of complaints in my stay: The first one was that I've found 2 pebbles in my food with the risk that I could broke my teeth. The second one was the beds on the beach, were broken or in bad status and the waitress didn't appeared to ask if we want something to drink. The third one was that the lock of the room didn't function correctly, I had to call the maintenance guy to report this situation and they were late by 15 min. The fourth one was the beach, I understand that it's a natural matter but when you enter its full of stones and rocks so uncomfortable. The fifth one, the Japanese restaurant, dishes we're cold at first so we had to return them and the meat was dry, not so tasty. The sixth one the jacuzzi was cold and very dirty. This hotel it's 4 diamond but when you experience this events in just 5 days, you doubt about it and gives you bad moments that were not supposed to happen. Very disappointed and will not come back. Sorry Karmina.

    “Sunshine”

    Just got back from a week in the sun. We arrived on the 5th and left on the 12th. Some of the Barcelo staff were there at the airport to check us in so we had our room cards an information package before we even got on the coach. Thumbs up to that! All of the staff were very helpful. Our room was wonderful. It had a garden view and ocean view (room 4208). Two double beds, a seating area, dining table, 2 tv's , huge bathroom that I would love at home. Our fridge was stocked every day Corona and pop chips and nuts. Orientation was at 9am the day after our arrival. We skipped it and learnt later that we should have gone to learn a few of the tips. We missed the BBQ because of this. You can give up one of your a la carte meals for the BBQ and everyone said it was wonderful. The food in the buffet was good. Lots of fruit at breakfast and of course you can get omelletes made. I was upset when they stopped putting out smoked salmon. I did ask for some and was told no salmon. Deserts were not wonderful for me but everyone else was eating them. The pools were great. The first few days as the hotel was not full we didn't have to rush out and get lounge chairs. As soon as it got busy it was very hard to find one especially by the adults only pool. So you get up at 7am and put your towels out. Not my idea of being on holiday 7am LOL. So Walmart is a 50 pesos ride away. You can buy your booze there or at the Americano liquor store which is a short walk. turn left out of the resort to the first traffic lights and it is on the corner. We did a taxi ride to Manzanillo centro 130 pesos and saw the big blue fish. The dockyard is the main resource for the town and then fruit and veg and I think tourists are third in line. The shops are all for locals not much in the way of souvenirs. There is a market on Saturday so if you want souvenirs go to it. The beach at the hotel is disappointing very small and the sand gets very hot. Make sure you take water shoes.
