    “Good and bad”

    Just got back, 8 days at occidental caribe Punta cana. Traveled with my 2 daughters , hotel is beautiful , clean and well maintained , rooms large and modern. I had 3202, ocean view,well stocked mini bar, tub and shower, no complaints at all. Buffet food varied and good, best resto. Was Japanese worst was Dominican .pools are great, beach beautiful but very little Shade. Worst part of the trip was lack of service and evening entertainment . The lobby bar's have table and chairs but the chairs are so uncomfortable that you don't want to be thereleased too long. Theater showsystem are really bad, very disappointing, bar has a sax player who is fantastic . All and all a nice place to be but be prepared for lack of service and entertainment .

    “Very good”

    Everything was good, it is a medium priced hotel with a really nice beach, good pools, poor jacuzzi area, poor entertainment. The room had a bad a/C, I stated It many days, until I just gave up. Disco has good music. Casino is just bad.

    “Bad practice ”

    For my first visit to the Dominican Republic I had lot of exceptions. I chose to stay at the all inclusive Occidental Caribe resort. The place looks nice from the outside, the pool is very nice , and close to the beach. The rooms are big but outdated. The water pressure in the shower is very low. The checking process took a while, and it seemed to me that the person behind the desk was doing her job just because she had to. Not the best welcome or just the nice welcome you suppose to get when you come to a resort like this. Regarding the food: we tried only the buffet till now , the quantities are ok but the food it’s self it’s not in its best, needs a lot of improvements. And now to the minus 3 stars. After checking inn when you pass near the entrance to the dinning room you are approached by one of the representatives of the Barcelo Occidental resort. They are trying to get you into 90-120 minutes representation of their vacations plans. Basically trying to sell vacations at a really expensive prices. We r talking about $20k-50k. You don’t have to buy. They promise you a gift in $ voucher, the range is $25-$75, depend where you come from. USA $75, Canada $50, etc. They claim that you can use this “money” as real one to purchase anything in their gift stores or to purchase any excursion. And here comes the CATCH. If you pay cash/cc for any excursion there is one price, but if you want to pay with the “gift money”, there is a hike of 30%, in the price. It’s one of the worst practices I saw, and you all should be AWARE of this. You can’t complain and there is no one to talk with. If you don’t understand the Spanish language, you can’t do nothing. By the way, similar things happenes in the airport when you land, but with another company. But the difference is that they r honest, they honor what the promise and the value of the gift they promise you Is double then the one in the resort. I will update the review after we try the different restaurants in the resort. Peace to all

    more wifi please for free ... all rest is okay, nice help from people who works there, kindley, helpfull, and what was a problem for me there, is the limit in the bank automat, it was not easy for me to get my money out of my account.

    “Bad practice ”
