    “Neer again. Go for any other hotel.”

    Cockroaches in the room!!!! Pool and beach have no umbrellas so you will toast under the sun, the pool s too shallow and the music is very loud until after 2:00am in the morning, making it hard to rest. And be aware the hotel beach has tons of seaweed.

    “Family Vacation”

    “Relaxing Vacation”

    We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The service was mostly great with just occasional lapses, and the price was right. We don't normally stay at all-inclusive because we like to explore, but we were able to travel around the country prior, so it was a nice end to our vacation. The resort was lovely and had lots of amenities (multiple pools, volley ball, dive shop, restaurants at all hours, etc). We especially loved all the palm trees (shade) on the beach. We were able to laze on the beach, read our books, and dip into the ocean without sitting out in the blazing sun. The food was pretty good for buffet food. They did a fair job of changing up the menu from day to day, and there was plenty of variety. We ate at two of the sit-down restaurants, and we found the service to be lacking. I think that was due to not enough staff as much as anything else. The dive shop staff was great - very competent, professional and friendly. We would dive with them again. The shows were well done, especially given the limited amount of space. The staff who ran the pre-shows were fantastic - very energetic and entertaining. Our only real complaint was the in-house shop. I had an emergency need for which they wanted to charge $20 for an item that cost $5 outside. It's shameful to take advantage like that. I would venture that many of the customers wouldn't have time (i.e. emergency need), couldn't make the walk, didn't have a car, or for many other reasons couldn't get outside the facility to the local supermarket. We're talking a needed toiletry versus a souvenir. A small up-charge for convenience and the cost of the facility would have been fine. However, $20 for a $5 item is ridiculous enough to leave me pissed off a month later and talking about toiletries in a hotel review. Again, aside from this issue, we loved our stay here. We might have rated it 5 stars if not for this.

    “Oooh lala ”

    My family and I (32 total) visited the Occidental Punta Cana Resort from July 12-19. I personally do not have any complaints besides the food, it was not the greatest, but I definitely made the best of it. We had a few of the staff members like Felix, and a few others from the main buffet who got to know us and made sure they had our tables ready for us. Fernando from the bar by the beach was also amazing, he made his specialty drinks, “The Fernando Specials” I stayed in building 26 which was conveniently close to one of the pools, the beach and thankfully close to the people that made our vacation amazing, the entertainment crew, they danced, did games, water aerobics, Zumba and most of all made sure we were having a great time, my favorite is Jose Dedody, he fit right in with all of my family, we all have grown to care for him, I also enjoyed conversations with Naomi De La Cruz, she was very pleasant, again EVERY ONE from the Animacion crew made our trip memorable! Jason from the timeshare company was also very pleasant, yes he was a little pushy but I get it, it’s a job and it’s what he’s supposed to do! I am pleased to say that I had a fabulous vacation and will love to visit there again.
