Occidental Jandía Royal Level - Adults only

Whilst we mostly enjoyed being here, our holiday was spoiled by the disappearance of an expensive and very pretty blouse from my sister's room. We reported this loss, and were given disinterested comments that it had probably would turn up in the laundry. It didn't, and we were assured it would be posted back. It wasn't. We stayed at this hotel for one week from 3rd of Sep 2019 to 10th of Sep 2019. Our room was very nice with a sea view and was very quiet as requested. Bed was very wide and comfortable. The restaurant food was fantastic and service exceptional. Variation of menu changed everyday, which was very different from other hotels , I think. Of course quality was superb. Big prawns are boiled or grilled. Everyday beef stakes were grilled in front of us. All drinks are served by the waiters, very quickly with very good attitude. Also we enjoyed some cocktails ( Pina colada , daiquiri sabores , tequila sunrise etc) at the pool bar and inside bar. Swimming pool in the Adult Only area was heated and temperature was very good for us. Generally we were very impressed with all aspects and enjoyed very much in this hotel. We look forward to returning next year.

We have visited this hotel for the last 5 years, usually in October so slightly earlier this year. We were warmly greeted by the waiting on staff, having remembered us from previous stays. The restaurant on the pool side is excellent. The choice of food was very good and I particularly loved all the fish dishes. Service is excellent. The Al a carte restaurant is open 5 days a week with a different country theme each evening. We were honoured to have our own special starter one night that we used to enjoy a few years ago, specially organised by the senior waiter Manuel. All of the staff work tirelessly to ensure you’re well catered for, too many to mention, but in particular and addition to Manuel as previously mentioned, Cornelia, Marcus, Choti, Elena & Brian and Miguel at the poolside bar. If I have a negative, it’s that some areas were not as clean as usual. The sun beds should be wiped down every day and the floor areas swept, not just jetted with water. The toilets at the pool side also had a tendency to block. The restaurant (serving rice dishes at lunchtime), should also clean the floor as there was cigarette ash all under our table! Some of the table linen was also looking shabby. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. The grounds of the main hotel, in particular, the planting, are wonderful and well cared for (despite a few broken floor tiles!) and a pleasure to walk through. Some people think there isn’t enough entertainment but there is a live act 3 x week in the green bar but it’s a shame the area outside the poolside restaurant isn’t utilised in the evening like it used to be. We’ll certainly be back next year!

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and despite it still being a good place to stay it now lacks in certain areas. A fast and trouble free check in with friendly professional staff and also given our pre-requested room, which was an excellent start. Lovely clean spacious room with stocked fridge and very large comfortable bed. Royal level pool area was always clean with plenty of sun beds without feeling crowded. Although the balinese beds are now in need of replacing and no longer have side curtains. More parasols are needed as there are only 3 available around the main pool which everybody wanted. Royal level restaurant is very clean with great service, however hot food was limited in choice and rather repetitive. Due to this we ate most meals in the main playa buffet restaurant, although this was repetitive compared to previous stays. The choice of drinks in the green bar was generally good unless you wanted cider which was only available at the lobby and piano bars. The evening entertainment is very poor compared to previous visits. The main stage in the theatre looks old and drab which is a shame as this is a great space and could be used so much better. An hour long show by booked acts which were mediocre at best was a great shame. The staff still provide a great service but due to a noticeable large drop in numbers the service provided hasn’t been up to previous standards. This hotel is in a fabulous location offering superb beaches, plenty of shops and only a short walk to the local town with plenty of fantastic places to eat (la sirena & simons kitchen especially). Overall this is a good hotel to stay in, but with more attention paid to the entertainment and staffing levels this would be a great hotel...once again.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Occidental Jandia Playa Royal Level. Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday. We paid for the upgrade to Royal level and for us it is well worth the money. The hotel is kept very clean by all members of staff. Rooms are well equipped and looked after. All the staff we encountered worked extremely hard but always made time to smile and say hello. Service from Housekeeping, Restaurant (Atlantico, Rincon and the A La Carte) and the royal level bars was exceptional. We thank you for making our holiday special and relaxing from start to finish. Thanks must also go to those members of staff who must all work tirelessly behind the scenes and are never seen, as the front of house team can only function as well as they did with teamwork from those behind the scenes. We especially thought that that the food choice and quality at the Atlantico, breakfast, lunch and dinner was exceptional as was the Bar and drinks service.
