The commitment to sustainability of the Royal Hideaway Corales Resort is one of the Barceló Hotel Group's main priorities. For this reason, at Royal Hideaway Corales Resort 5*GL we carry out different initiatives aimed at making the hotel a more responsible space that promotes environmental awareness.
Architecture and facilities
We have 476m² of solar panels that are responsible for heating the water for sanitary consumption, and a geothermal system by exchanger that takes advantage of the energy from the centralized chillers to heat our 56 pools. In addition, we have a home automation system that minimises energy expenditure. Our architecture and use of efficient materials are also designed to maximize energy savings.
Gardening
50% of outdoor plants are autochthonous, which means less water demand. 100% of the products we use to treat them are organic.
Raising awareness and training employees
We communicate and train all employees in good practices through our BEcology corporate model. We also have filtered water fountains for all our employees, with the aim of reducing the use of plastic.
Other measures
Implementation of B-Ecology and maintenance management program designed by the Barceló Group, centralized control of outdoor lighting with LED lights, tap economizers through aerators and WC cisterns with double load system.
Cuisine
72% of our suppliers are local. We have recyclable packaging in all our points of sale, reducing single-use materials.
Management and recycling
In addition to the selective collection of waste and computer materials, we have selective waste management bins available to customers in all rooms.
Certifications
We have the Travelife Certification and 100% green energy certification. Travelife is a global certification body for the sustainability of accommodation, in the environmental, economic and social spheres. To obtain this certification, 163 criteria must be met by the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council). The resort has also recently achieved Biosphere certification, which demonstrates that it meets international sustainability requirements and the Rethink 10 award for best sustainability and hotel rehabilitation projects.
