Sa Tanca
The Sa Tanca restaurant, located in the Barceló Nura hotel, represents the perfect fusion between the culinary essence of Menorca and the Italian gastronomic tradition, united by the values of the Mediterranean diet. This combination gives rise to a balanced, authentic and deeply tasty proposal. The cuisine of Sa Tanca is based on ingredients of the highest quality and proximity, highlighting authentic treasures of the island such as Menorcan olive oil, wines from small local wineries and products grown in Menorca. The menu has been designed by the Italian chef Marco Jacoby, chosen for his deep admiration for local produce. Its culinary philosophy is committed to fresh ingredients, grilled meats, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and a careful selection that combines tradition and avant-garde in each dish.
This space was inspired by the historical link between Italy and Menorca, a connection that dates back more than two thousand years. The Mediterranean has always been the bridge between these two lands, united by a common essence: the Mediterranean diet, a symbol of health, flavour and tradition. Under the Roman Empire, Menorca was conquered by Quintus Caecilius Metellus, who discovered two culinary treasures that still endure: olive oil and wine. Today, those same treasures are the soul of Sa Tanca's gastronomic proposal.
The cuisine of Sa Tanca transmits authenticity and freshness in every bite, thanks to the use of certified organic products, meat and fish from the island, and preparations taken care of in detail. Chef Marco Jacoby, passionate about Menorcan produce, integrates ingredients such as lobster, bluefin tuna or avocado into recipes that combine tradition and creativity, elevating each dish to a sensory experience.
The restaurant also has an outdoor space surrounded by vegetation and natural stone, where Italian cuisine breathes through the Menorcan landscape. The "tancas", stone walls that protect the crops, symbolize that ancestral link between land and table: self-sufficiency, respect for nature and a cultural heritage that is savored in each dish.
