The question is not where to go out at night in Jerez, but how. Because entertainment options after sunset (and even before) in the city—whose population has grown so much in recent decades—have also increased exponentially.

A typical night in Jerez might start in a tabanco (a traditional tavern), savouring a glass of sherry, enjoying a tapa of ham or chicharrones (pork rinds) and taking in the spontaneous (or not so spontaneous) spectacle of someone breaking into song and clapping along to flamenco rhythms.

From there you can continue onto the many bars and terraces in the city centre, enjoying the best local cuisine. You can have a drink in the same area or venture a little further afield to one of the three avenues lined with pubs and nightclubs, which we will explain in more detail below. And finally, you can finish off the night dancing until dawn, or even later, at one of the large nightclubs on the same avenues.

An equally appealing nightlife alternative is to attend one of the flamenco shows offered by the city’s various tablaos and peñas. Some of them also offer dinner. Excellent examples include Puro Arte, the tabanco A la Feria, La Bailaora and the flamenco peña La Bulería.

Best nightlife areas in Jerez

There are nightlife options in practically every neighbourhood in Jerez. But the place where most of the bars and entertainment venues are concentrated, especially during the early evening, is the historic quarter, between Plaza del Arenal, Calle Consistorio, Calle Lancería, Calle Larga and Calle Porvera.

There, in small squares such as Plaza de la Yerba, Plaza del Progreso and Plaza del Banco you will also find lively terraces, which are perfect when the weather is good, where you can have the first drink of a long night. Some of the most popular bars open late into the night in the area are La Favorita, the pub Urbano and the café Algarabía.

Not far away is the lively San Miguel neighbourhood, located between the beautiful church of the same name and Calle Corredera. Here, you will find numerous bars, which are also perfect for late afternoon drinks and for kicking of your night. A great example is the pub El 7.

From there, Jerez’s night owls usually head to Avenida Álvaro Domecq and Avenida Lola Flores, where some of the city’s most iconic bars are located. There are also some equally recommendable nightclubs around the large esplanade where the Horse Fair is held and beyond, towards Avenida de Europa.

To round up the nightlife scene, there are also several establishments in neighbourhoods that are not so well known for their nightlife. One good example is the club Bereber (in the San Mateo neighbourhood), which we will talk about in more detail below. Or the concert hall Oshun, located in one of the industrial estates surrounding the city.

Best nightclubs in Jerez

Before going into more detail about the best nightclubs in Jerez, it is worth noting that this type of business tends to be very unstable. Every year, even every month, nightlife establishments appear and disappear in this lively city. So, it is best to check before heading out to one of them in the middle of the night, in case it has closed its doors temporarily or permanently.

These are the most highly rated nightclubs in Jerez according to users:

Bereber (Cabezas, 8)

Without a doubt, the most original, stylish, and attractive nightclub in Jerez. Located in a Renaissance palace, nights at Bereber are truly unforgettable, not only because of its beautiful setting and décor but also because of its music selection, which caters to audiences of all tastes and ages.

Kapote (Av. Álvaro Domecq, 13)

A leading nightclub not only in Jerez but also in El Puerto de Santa María, where it has a successful branch. Here, the latest dance music is the star of the show on nights that never seem to end. It is frequented by a young and stylish crowd, both local and foreign.

Belmondo (Piñón, 34)

This nightclub and concert hall has a particular fondness for contemporary Latin sounds. It also has a pleasant terrace for those who prefer quieter nights (or moments). The nightclub is located in the Guadalcacín area, about 6 kilometres from the city centre.

La Galería (Av. Europa, 9)

This classic of the Jerez nightlife scene may have lost some of its steam. In fact, today it is more of an event venue that organises special sessions, but it is also a perfect spot for those feeling nostalgic.

Blue Monkey (Amianto, 9)

A relaxed atmosphere with just the right touch of sophistication for summer nights and good weather. It is actually a large outdoor terrace where you can dance and have drinks until the early hours of the morning.

Pandora Club (Zaragoza, 20)

This LGBTIQ+ nightclub is well known for its drag shows, some of which are very famous on the national scene. It is one of the few venues for this type of audience in the province of Cádiz, so it tends to be very diverse and lively.

Sal Oshun (Polígono Industrial Bértola, nave 13)

This is a mecca for techno heads. In fact, the concert hall (rather than a nightclub) regularly hosts live techno sessions, without neglecting other equally contemporary genres. It even hosts flamenco shows.
