Description
Discover the winemaking tradition of Jerez de la Frontera with a guided visit to the historic Álvaro Domecq Winery, a bodega whose roots date back to the 18th century.
During the tour you will learn about the history of this renowned winemaking family and the legacy of D. Álvaro Domecq while exploring the facilities where some of the most representative wines, brandies and vinegars of the Jerez region are produced.
The visit offers an insight into the traditional solera and criaderas ageing system, used to mature Sherry wines in American oak barrels. You will also discover different areas of the winery dedicated to the production of fino and oloroso wines, brandies and vinegars with Denomination of Origin.
Throughout the tour you will learn about some of the winery’s most notable varieties, such as Fino La Janda, Oloroso Alburejo, Aranda Cream and Pedro Ximénez Viña 98, as well as other emblematic products from the bodega.
The experience ends with a guided wine tasting, where you can sample a representative selection from the Álvaro Domecq range while discovering the aromas and characteristics that define these Sherry wines.
