Where to go out in the Chipiona area: the centre and the lighthouse

The centre of Chipiona, especially around Calle Isaac Peral and Plaza de Andalucía, is perfect for bar-hopping with tapas and sitting out on a terrace with a cold drink and some fried fish.

If you’re after something a little more stylish or places that stay open later, the marina and lighthouse area is ideal for drinks and dancing right by the sea.

Nightclubs in Chipiona

One of the most iconic nightspots in Chipiona is, without a doubt, Sala Picoco in the port area. This legendary venue has a bar, a dance floor and a beach bar, AWA Beach Club, where you can enjoy great music right next to the sea.

Another favourite is Arena Beach, a beachside nightclub that’s one of the best places to hear electronic music into the early hours. Arena also hosts themed nights like their “Rainy Nights”, which are more about dancing under the stars.

Very close to Plaza del Castillo is Botanic, one of the most popular summer clubs for dancing and partying until seven in the morning.

Going out in Rota: gastrobars and cocktail bars

The best place for tapas and to try Cadiz cuisine are in the bars in the centre and on the terraces of the pedestrian streets like Alcalde García Sánchez, Plaza de Bartolomé Pérez, Las Canteras and Calle de la Mina.

The vibe picks up in the evening as terraces fill with tourists and locals enjoying a glass of wine or a chilled beer.

If you’re after a livelier, younger atmosphere that lasts into the early hours, head for the bars in the port and along the seafront promenade near La Costilla and Virgen del Mar beaches.

Here you’ll find loads of beach bars and clubs with DJs playing from sunset until five in the morning, like Azúcar de Cuba or Babilonia Lounge Club, which has a massive terrace.

You could also head over to Costa Ballena, where you’ll find one of the top nightclubs in the area, Rosata Disco, an elegant new place to be seen.

Pubs and nightlife in Costa Ballena, cocktails by the Atlantic

Costa Ballena is one of the most upmarket parts of Rota for a night out, with options for cocktails or dinner. Some venues near the golf course, in the Pueblo Marinero, focus on cocktails and mellow music, like Befree.

You can also enjoy amazing Atlantic views from the beach clubs and their terraces. One of the most popular is El Poniente, which serves fresh dishes and has a fun cocktail list to help you stretch dinner into the night.

Kanguro Chiringuito & Beach Club is ideal if you’re after a chill-out vibe, with Balinese beds, sun loungers and live music. It’s a stunning place to catch the sunset.

Another must-visit beach bar is Mareas, right on the beach, which serves a tasty brunch if you’re after a daytime option. At night, it’s perfect for a laid-back drink.

For younger visitors looking for something a little more formal, Sol y Luna offers background music that builds in volume and cocktails of every kind.

And the night has to end at Rota’s most famous nightclub: Rosata Disco. It’s located in the Costa Ballena shopping centre and has a stylish, exclusive atmosphere. There are different areas for dancing or just sitting with a drink, with DJ sessions from top names, where the doors remain open until sunrise.
