Travel

• In the historic center, we will visit the Jewish quarter (“ el Call ”) that extends through a labyrinth of cobbled alleys that preserve the important Jewish footprint that still remains in the city. The Aljama (Jewish community) of Girona was one of the most important in Spain and the center of La Cabala.

• The Jewish presence in the City dates back to the 9th century and they made their community important thanks to the merchants, doctors, notaries that were part of it and such notorious figures as Mosé Ben Nahman, Grand Master of the Cabala, also known for Nahmanides, Ramabán or Bonastruc ça Porta. The Jewish community became one-tenth of the population of Girona.

• Going down Carrer de la Força we will leave behind the Call, the Modernista style house where the architect Rafael Masó was born and we will arrive at the Rambla to meet the Onyar River and its bridges. The Puente de Piedra, the Puente de les Peixateries Velles (Eiffel Bridge) and the Puente de la Princesa (Bridge “d’en Gómez”), ending our tour here.
