We will begin the excursion with a visit to the La Zafra Museum, where you will discover the history of tomato cultivation in Gran Canaria and its importance to the island’s economy and cultural heritage. The museum features old agricultural machinery, historical photographs, and interesting insights into the daily life of the zafra workers, offering a fascinating introduction to one of the island’s traditional industries.
The tour will continue to the beautiful Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden, a peaceful natural space showcasing native Canary Islands flora, themed gardens, and scenic walking paths surrounded by lush vegetation. Set within a spectacular natural ravine, this botanical garden is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and take memorable photographs.
We will finish the excursion with free time in the historic districts of Vegueta and Triana, the cultural heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Stroll through charming old streets, admire the colonial architecture, optionally visit Santa Ana Cathedral, enjoy shopping in Triana, or taste local cuisine in one of the many traditional restaurants and cafés. A perfect combination of culture, leisure, and gastronomy.
