A selection of plans adapted for children to explore Valladolid without getting bored
Strolling through Campo Grande
This is Valladolid’s major park and has different areas ranging from long paths and fountains to peacocks, squirrels hidden among trees and a pond with ducks.
In addition to the enormous area for running and playing, with plenty of grass everywhere, there is a playground with swings and slides that recreates a huge pirate ship where children prefer to laugh and play.

Moreras beach
Just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Valladolid, you will find Moreras river beach, adapted to be one of the most fun places for kids. There you can rent a canoe or paddle board and explore the river Pisuerga or relax, sunbathe and, depending on the time of year, dip your feet in the water.
The area is equipped with toilets and showers and has a car park.
Science Museum
It is one of the most fun and educational places for children in Valladolid since it is completely interactive with experiments, exhibitions and a planetarium that has different sessions depending on the age.
There you can learn what fossil fuels are, what is happening with climate change or how a floodgate works. The Chemistry Room is magical for understanding what formulas have to do with the evolution of the bicycle.
The Planetarium has sessions for children aged over 3 and even for babies.
River House
In the Science Museum, when crossing a footbridge you will get to the River House, a place where water reigns supreme and features aquariums and terrariums with species that live in the river Pisuerga, which is usually a complete discovery for children and adults alike.
That house provides explanations of the river’s various ecosystems and has interactive modules where the little ones can learn by playing and, above all, by discovering, through a glass, the life that exists in the river next to them.
Boat trip on the river Pisuerga
One of the most popular plans with children is to sail on the Leyenda del Pisuerga, a 25-metre boat that travels very slowly along the river that marks the life of Valladolid. It is a model boat that imitates the steamboats that sailed the Mississippi and allows children to walk from one side to the other and check out all the secrets hidden in the river with the explanation of a specialist guide.
The old town and its secrets
The centre of Valladolid is full of challenges and secrets, such as climbing the 70-metre-high tower with unique views and finding out why the Cathedral is called The Unfinished and who is buried in this temple.
You will also have great fun exploring the Plaza Mayor, the Church of Saint Mary the Ancient and the elegant Pasaje Gutiérrez shopping arcade, which will leave you speechless.

Valley of the 6 Senses
This theme park, located around 11 kilometres from Valladolid, is an adventure in itself that will leave the little ones gobsmacked. Located in Renedo de Esgueva, it is a giant site with more than 60 slides, musical games and circuits that pose a challenge for children, whatever their age.
Remember that this park is perfect for spending a whole day, but you should check the opening hours because it is only open from March to October.
Recommendations and tips to make the most out of Valladolid
The best thing when travelling with children is to choose the hotel location well to reduce travel time, and you should always take into account what time of year you are going because it can be very cold or very hot and you must pack accordingly.
A good plan is to mix games with calmer and more cultural plans, and then return to the adventure again, never losing their attention.
Before making any moves, check the opening hours of the places you want to visit to make the most of your time. The great thing about Valladolid is that it is very easy to eat there because there are many tapas bars and terraces with food that is perfect for children.
