    “Good package overall”

    Location is very good. Hotel is ok, not the most comfortable and luxurious but for the money you pay is pretty much acceptable. Hotel provides laundry through an external company, in our case we got our clothes back still humid.

    “Occidental Pera Istanbul guest experience from June 23-27, 2018”

    Just wanted to share my Occidental Pera Istanbul guest experience. My first trip to Istanbul. Hotel is very well located, close to everything, Taksim square + metro (7-10 min walk, Istiklal Street (3 min). Rooms: Good air-conditioning (adjustable to your needs), clean, well-designed, good beds, clean sheets. All necessary bathroom supplies, bathrobes, slippers. Also, I’d recommend upper floor rooms. If you’re not on a tight budget, I’d suggest a deluxe room. They are larger, better appointed, with large bathrooms. We stayed in a deluxe room #802, 8th floor on the quiet side, facing a wonderful garden and the UK Consulate, very spacious, clean. The housekeeping lady did a great job. She is amazing☺ Unfortunately I don’t’ know her name. Thank you Housekeeping Lady☺ In total we saw four rooms. On the quiet side: room#802 & # 609 (Not sure), 6th floor facing the garden/backyard was smaller in size than visitors from North America would be used to, but this is Europe and everything is smaller and more compact. Otherwise, it was clean and comfortable. Street side: room #305, 3rd floor with balcony (noisier, as facing the street, keep that in mind, if noise is an issue) had also an unpleasant smell, hard to define the cause, maybe sewage. We also saw a duplex room, nice, spacious, but for my 75 year-old mom the staircase was rather steep. Reception desk and service were excellent. I booked my hotel room directly with the hotel’s website. The price was roughly the same as on other booking sites and even lower, in addition they offer a price guarantee. According to my previous experience when you book directly with the hotel, they are more willing to accommodate with all your requests. Fettah, the Client Care Manager, helped me a lot with my requests/questions and gave tons of good advice. He was always smiling and polite. Thank you Fettah☺ Breakfast: I expected a better food variety for the price. Service was OK. Wi-fi was quite adequate for FB, viber, whatsapp and just surfing. Really appreciated all the advice, service, help and recommendations received from Fettah, Ibrahim, and another Reception Desk Officer, unfortunately cannot remember his name, Abdullah maybe. He was a bit bold (sorry for forgetting his name; my comment regarding his appearance was only used to better describe him). To sum it all: I'm in love with Istanbul, enjoyed my experience at Occidental Pera and would recommend and stay again in this hotel. If any questions, plse ask:)

    “Not the best ”

    Room is average , I asked many times to operate the A/C but without any respond from hotel, water pressure was not good at toilet, elevator very small and slow, but hotel location is nice and it’s have indoor pool and spa.

    “Location”

    This was my second trip to Istanbul so I wanted to be closer to the city centre. I chose this hotel, as it's only 50m away from Istikal street. The hotel need some little renovations, but all in all the most important is the service which was great! Especially Fettah, front desk manager.

    “Terrible management”

    when i first arrived i was told by reception that i will have a nice view and room on the 7th floor. After getting checked-in quickly, i opened the door expecting what i was assured by the staff ; the room was quite small but clean. The view from my room was chaos, opposite me was old and ugly buildings. Although this was not the biggest issue, the most significant problem was the broken AC in the room. Because of this, i had to open the window at night as it was to hot to sleep however the noise from the streets especially the constant beeping of cars every night were extremely loud and couldn't sleep for most nights. i complained about this issue to the receptionist and they told me different excuses every night, one of them being that the engineer was going to fix it. But when i checked the previous reviews for the hotel i found that this has been an issue for more than 2 years and also giving them false excuses. The two good things about this hotel was the staff working in the dining room for the breakfast and the nice swimming pool and sauna. I suggest if you are going to stay at this hotel make sure you are not facing the front side.
