Wendy was born and raised in Chicago. His life seemed destined to remain there, but after finishing university she decided to move to Mexico City. That unexpected turn marked the beginning of a stage full of challenges and personal growth. She took part in various beauty pageants before reaching the stage of Miss Universe.

Gabriel, originally from Colima, is a coach in physical conditioning and fitness. Discipline and perseverance are part of his daily life. "Wendy is a beautiful person inside and out," Gabriel shares. "She has a wonderful way about her, she is loyal, correct... he is a very beautiful person," she explains.

Wendy describes Gabriel with the same admiration: "He is a very strong person physically, but inside he has great strength and an inner fire that never fades And an incredible sensitivity and nobility ."

The couple say they felt an immediate connection from the very first day, and eight years later, with a daughter together, they continue to prove that that first impulse was right.

Their love not only grew between them, but multiplied with the arrival of their daughter. She became the centre of their world and, on their wedding day, she played a role that was both special and symbolic: she carried the rings to the altar.

That detail made the ceremony even more intimate and meaningful. They were not only coming together as a couple, but as a family.

One of the most special moments of the day came just before the ceremony. Wendy stood at the top of the stairs, ready to begin her walk, while Gabriel and their little one waited below with the rings. "The sunset dipping behind the mountains was spectacular," he recalls, a detail that turned that meeting into an intimate and deeply emotionally moment.

For Wendy, walking down those stairs was just as unforgettable. Seeing Gabriel waiting for her, her family gathered together and her daughter taking part in the moment made everything fall into place. Music accompanied every step, wrapping the scene in the perfect serenity before the "I do".

El día perfecto frente al mar

The Barceló Karmina team, who supported them throughout the organisation of the wedding, took care of every detail from the planning to the big day. Wendy highlights the close, professional and genuinely human attention they received. "I felt that they were with us every step of the way", she says.

There was even a moment that perfectly showed that commitment: the bride forgot her bouquet in the room and a member of the staff ran to fetch it and deliver it just in time. "An incredible gesture for me, because you don't want to spend your wedding day feeling stressed", Wendy emphasises.

With the sea as a backdrop, the ceremony was "simply spectacular". Gabriel's strength, Wendy's sensitivity and the presence of their daughter created a scene that will never be forgotten.
