    “So Loud”

    The music at this place is so unbelievably loud you can't even hear yourself think. It goes on all day and takes away from the relaxing atmosphere. We asked the pool side crew to please turn down the volume and nothing was done. If you want to feel like your in a night club while trying to enjoy the beach and waves... Maybe you'll appreciate it.

    “Stay somewhere else”

    No room service Sewage smell around rooms & pathways No alcohol before noon No music at the pool ( or anywhere else ) before noon Food was ok Beach was beautiful Very quiet No pool parties / staff was friendly but low energy

    “Long weekend”

    Visited during our long weekend my husband, 7 years old daughter.. we enjoyed our 3 night stay.. the beach is fantastic, the entertainment team fun, weighters at the breakfast and lunch buffet very nice.. had dinner at the mexican restaurant.. the food was good. The room was ok, think they should renovate and clean better.. our first night we didnt get the cleaning service.. they arrived very late to the room.. when where back from the pool. The shower had leaks, and if you are not a member o traveling with barcelo travel agency you dont have wifi.. consider this a necesity. And if your flight is later on your check out you have to leave the property by 2 pm or pay additional per person.. think that is crazy.. there was a couple from transat who had a bad experience because of this... when the pick up was at 7 pm.. Guess they have the oportunity to create a better experience for tourist specially if they are traveling from other states of the country and other countries..

    “Great location, but the hotel has been better.”

    This is the second time I came to stay at this hotel, about seven years ago I attempted to check into this hotel and it was conveniently oversold I was shipped off to a different hotel I believe the Occidental at Xcaret which has an armpit for a beach and is a twenty minute cab ride into town. The trip was not a complete write off and after a day at the previous location I was allowed to resume my actual stay at the hotel. Now when I attempted to check in this trip was I approached by Lucio a very annoying and insulting time share rep, who wanted me to experience a more luxurious hotel. Coincidentally the same hotel where I was before. I chose this hotel because it is walking distance to downtown, and on a nice strip of beach. The staff, whom are still working in the same places they were so many years ago try really hard, and make for a great experience. The front desk is helpful, and will exchange money, the house keepers are prompt and work around the crazy schedules of the visitors, and most of the waiters will be diligent without being tipped first. I can agree with what other people said about the food. There were times, where I ate better in Cuba, they limit the number of times you can visit the a la carte and they fill up right away as there is a line up to sign up as you can only reserve that day in person. They also don't serve alcohol till noon, which I image can be an issue.

    “Great location, but the hotel has been better.”
