    “Can't wait to go back! Beautiful gardens! Friendly staff! Beachfront! Clean!”

    We liked everything!! The resort was clean, in front of the beach, with beautiful gardens! The pools were very nice, especially the one with the bar. The food was very good. Especially breakfast! Very good qualty! Friendly staff and cute bungalow! The only negative, u have to pay for wifi. But who cares, instadetox :)

    “Another amazing time”

    Well this was our second time at this resort and we have stayed at the other allegro in Cozumel which pretty much mirrors this one. We love this resort because it is small and has a wonderful authentic Mexican feel. Everything is a very short walk away and the beach is amazing... we walk the beach every morning and in my opinion this is the nicest section of beach between the pier in Playa del Carmen and the Sandos at the other end. The guys on the beach worked tirelessly to keep the seaweed at a minimum and we swam everyday. The staff here also are great, always smiling and happy. I can’t remember most names but a special shout out to Ricardo by the pool who always knew our drinks. Our room was on the top floor and was always clean and fridge well stocked with flowers on the bed. This resort may not have all the amenities and activities of others but if you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful place this is a great option..we will return.

    “Disapponting spending 20th Anniversary”

    The resort it self was good but front desk management needs a lot of improvement. It was our time there and will not go back. When we arrived at 11 o'clock was not ready. They told us it would not be ready until 3 o'clock. They sent us over to the courtesy room to get changed. Come 3 o'clock the room was still not available it was hot. We were very tired and was sleeping on chairs outside by lobby. My husband went to them and requested to see when we were able to get our room. They told them the rooms were not ready. Our friends was with us, it there first trip to Mexico. We had a very long flight and was vey tired. We were very upset. We had request a room by the ocean or pool but we did not get it. I was talking to Ferando the week before we left on the 13th. He had told me that we had to pay for extra charge and then I asked him what was available, he told me 41 was. so I had told him, we would take it. Thinking we had building 41 but when they gave us 38, we were suppose to have rooms close to our friends, upper level because my husband has anxiety for being closed in place. We did not get our key until 430. When they took us there we very upset and tired it was not building 41. So took us down and gave us keys and took us behind the building looking at another one building 37. We told did not want it. We requested to move to another resort but travel agent was not there, so we took our rooms. My friends was in front of building and we were behind. The building 41 was not available until two days later. So said we stay there until the next day. Loise was the our coincerage for the hotel, he had asked us if we would like to meet him at 830 for breakfast to talk to him. Thinking we were going to be on the resort for breakfast. He sent us to another repersentive for membership for Barcello. They took us for a drive down to one of there resorts, Oceantile resort, 30 min from us. When we got there she was showing us the other resort we were not interested but she continued. We requested to go back on resort, she was very pushie and did not like her. We wanted to return to the resort. We thought we were going over to the royal hide away for breakfast. but ended up down 30 mins away. Our friends were sick from being over tired from trip and they did not go with us. We were very upset about this. We were not interested to be a member. My friends and husband decided to stay for the week. The maids were very good, made sure your rooms were clean dailey. Food were good, never went hungry. The speciality food was.

    “Great hotel with lovely, friendly staff!”

    My friend and I stayed at this hotel between 02 March and 09 March 2019. We had a late arrival and the reception staff were polite and friendly. However, we found that the agency we booked through (via BA website) had overbooked at the hotel and therefore the hotel had no record of our booking. Naturally, this was really upsetting and spoiled the beginning of what should have been a relaxing holiday. But despite the wobbly start, the staff tried their best to resolve the problem - in particular, Cristina the manager was really helpful and quickly arranged a late night meal and temporary room for us. The next morning, we were moved to a more suitable room which we were really happy with. Cristina was really warm and friendly and she always made sure we were happy and asked how things were going. She really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The room facilities were good although the standard Wi-Fi charge is extortionate! We are from London and pretty much all hotels in Europe offer free Wi-Fi so the $12 per day charge was not justifiable! Our stay after this little hiccup was amazing - the hotel was so relaxing, there were plenty of facilities such as basketball and tennis courts, aqua aerobics, lots of activities by the pool (the DJ and the activities guys were really energetic and enthusiastic and got everyone in the holiday spirit). There were also other beach activities available to book such as parasailing, snorkelling etc. We even booked our tours with them – there was a German lady at the towel desk who booked the excursions for us, she was really informative and really nice and friendly. We snorkelled with turtle and stingrays which was an amazing experience and we swam in the Dos Ojos cenote which was a real experience. We parasailed over the Caribbean Sea - fantastic experience! The restaurant staff were very friendly and greeted everyone with smiles and offers of drinks regularly. The food was good at lunch more than dinner but there was a wide variety – my friend is a vegetarian and there was plenty for him to eat. The hotel also had a small shop where you can buy souvenirs. Overall, we had a great holiday – the hotel and the staff really made the difference. It is a really lovely hotel with beautiful surroundings and we would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Playa Del Carmen area.

    “We will definitely come back!”

    We had a 7 night stay at allegro playacar and we will definitely be coming back. When we arrived the staff greeted us with smiles and were efficient at checking us in as fast as they could. Our room was superb, extremely clean and spacious, and we had our own balcony with a hammock. Although the beds are a bit stiff, I had great sleeps and woke up without a sore back. Our rooms were tidied daily and they were quick to fill our mini fridge with water bottles and fix any issues we had in the room(the toilet handle came loose and didn’t work properly) In order to get a chair by the activity pool under the canopy you need to reserve them quite early in the morning (8am) or else you have no option but to sit at the other pool (no activities) or the beach (with no umbrellas, only palm trees to block the sun) The days can be filled sitting by the activity pool as they have activities running from 10 am-4pm. If sitting by the pool/ beach is getting old. You can walk 6 minutes to a mini strip mall where there are shops and a Starbucks. It is only a 20 minute walk in the opposite direction from the hotel to 5th Avenue, where there are amazing restaurants, shops and souvenirs huts. The food at the resort was great. It was inconvenient lining up at 9 am to reserve a table at one of the 3 themed dinners but the breakfast and lunch buffet never disappointed, where the dinner buffets were a hit and miss. There were tons of options to choose from and the serving staff was attentive. Every evening there was a show and in particular the Michael Jackson tribute was exceptional! Special shoutout to Alejandro, the entertainment coordinator who kept the energy high!!
