    “Premium level”

    The hotel has a great location close to many sites in Santo Domingo. The staff at the premium level were very friendly always greeting us with a smile. Firstly I would like to thank Daniela Martinez, Lisania Monter Leynni Billilo, Beligne, for been so nice to us and everybody at the premium level and making our stay a memorable one. Overall it was a great stay, service and food is amazing.

    “Nice hotel - fun at a wedding”

    Chose this hotel because of a wedding we attended. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very nice and clean. The overall hotel had a nice presence. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices and was tasty. Recommend

    “B-Delicious Staff is Awesome”

    While the property is ok, I think the staff at BDelicious Restaurant is Awesome! Particularly Juana F., Jennifer, Jorge, Lorena, Rosemary, Ignacia, Labelis and Eduvigen - cashier. They offer very attentative service during my multiple Breakfast and lunch experience

    “Not good for Americans”

    I have traveled to Santo Domingo many times and this time took the advice from Trip Advisor and decided to try Barcelo. Here is a detailed information: Upon arrival: Hotel is central to many things in Santo Domingo. Cab is $40 each way from airport( they will try to hustle you for more) Check in was easy, they put a $250 dollar hold on your room for incidentals. (It has been a week since I have returned and the deposit has not been returned to me yet, contacted hotel and they assure me it is in progress) 1st room: Hotel is clean and front desk staff is not friendly. First thing I notice is that all the windows are open throughout the hallways... this means they are running no air, so the smell in the hallways was bad, open the door to the room and the smell was bad also... immediately turn air on to bring the temperature down. Room is small, bathroom is small... GOOD comfortable King size bed. First night my wife and I slept well, woke up in the morning to a broken sink and plumbing problem so we moved rooms 2 doors down. Breakfast: very expensive, if you choose not to eat buffet and order off menu, then you will experience and hour wait for cold food. I highly suggest eating at any of the local places outside of hotel for breakfast... 2nd room: Americans already know to not touch the minibars in DR, so we went and bought a few items at local market for the room. The air conditioning unit was over the minibar and during our second night the unit leaked water all over the mini bar. Instead of apologizing to us, they tried to say we were responsible to pay for all the items that were damaged by the water the unit. This took a nice argument to fix. Moved again to a new room. Dinner: GREAT EXPERIENCE .. great food and great service Piano Bar: GREAT EXPERIENCE ... wonderful drinks, beautiful music, highly suggest Casino: local people, real bad atmosphere, do not suggest Pool: GREAT EXPERIENCE very shallow but great service around the pool and overall good time Workout room: GREAT EXPERIENCE 3rd Room: much smaller then the other 2 rooms we were in and now we heard the street the whole night. But no plumbing or water problems I spoke to the Bi-lingual manager about all of our problems. She offered a free meal in the restaraunt or access to the hot Tub on the roof. After realizing she could not do anything to fix my trip, i set up taxi and checked out early. Americans! Watch your bank statement when you leave, I have over 12 different charges from the hotel that I have to dispute. These people will find anyway to get by on you.
