    “Barcelo Maya Palace”

We have been to this property since it opened. We love the staff, the larger rooms, manicured grounds, pools and the beautiful ocean. There are many activities that you can do without leaving the complex or just float in the pool to relax. Planning our next visit back already. I also wanted to mention that this is the first year that we can remember that seaweed was bad BUT this is happening to all the resorts up and down the peninsula not just the Barcelo properties.

    “Vacation trip”

We had a wonderful, totally relaxing trip to the Barcelo Maya Palace. The Palace resort is beautiful and well maintained. The water at the beach is clear with lots of fish. There are rocks at the edge of the beach, but once you get past those, there is sand and the water is warm and great to swim in. The pools are very big and there's a special one for children with fountains, and slides. There's quite a bit of wildlife like birds, deer, racoons, anteaters, and something called an agouti. Across the street ther'e's an ecopark with cenotes(underground rivers) that you can swim in. We went by taxi to a cenote not too far away called the Gran Cenote in Tulum which was beautiful. The food the Barcelo Palace is really delicious - great buffets, and the French Restaurant onsite called Brasserie is excellent. The staff is so helpful and friendly at the Barcelo. We had some wonderful waiters at the buffet restaurants including Oscar Lopez, Darwin Chang, Selene, and at the French Restaurant - Fernando and Jycelyn were outstanding. Our room was lovely - very spacious, and had everything you need right down to a toothbrush. paste and shaving kit, and at night chocolates on the pillows. We would definitely recommend this resort, and we hope to be able to come back again soon.

    “Romantic Getaway”

Perfect for Couples. Adult only pool is amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive; they accommodate all requests with a smile. The resort is well maintained and gorgeous! Staying at the Palace gives you access to all of the other bars and restaurants on the property which is wonderful; we walk to the open air auditorium for the nightly show.

“Wonderful 7 day vacation at the Barcelo Maya Palace”

We just returned home after a wonderful 7 day vacation at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Our garden view room was on the 3rd floor in block 2 of the Oaxaca section. The room was beautifully appointed. There was plenty of storage space with two closets and lots of drawers. The fridge was restocked daily with beer, juice, pop, peanuts and chips. The maid did an amazing job cleaning our room daily. We spent most of our days at the adults only pool. The staff at the El Cielo bar were outstanding. Big shout out to the bartenders Diego Velazquez and Alejandro Mayti and the waitresses Maribel Perez and Nancy Garcia who never let our glasses remain empty, bringing us new drinks before we could even ask for them. Amazing! We started our days at the Mirador Buffet restaurant where the staff were excellent. Amazing team work. Hermenegildo Cituk, Alfredo Chi, Marcos Juarez, Rebecca Perez, Lucio Chi and Esmeralda Jimenez. Pedro Che, their supervisor, would frequently stop by to make sure everything was okay. While the staff were exceptional, we were a little disappointed with the buffet food. While we always found something to eat, the food never "wowed" us. The a la carte restaurants, on the other hand, did wow us. We went to several a la carte restaurants and loved them all. Our first night we ate at the Kyoto restaurant where we enjoyed the Teppanyaki style dinner. We were very impressed with the waitress who took our order as she went around the table inquiring if anyone had any food restrictions/allergies. As we do have certain restrictions we were very pleased that the chef cooked our food first, avoiding any cross contamination. Unfortunately, we were very jet lagged and too tired to get the names of the waitress and the chef. We had an amazing dinner at La Trattoria. Veal with mushroom gravy sauce was amazing! A big shout out to our waiter Heber Rodriquez who patiently tried to teach me how to fold my napkin as they so beautifully do as they set the tables. We had a fabulous dinner at the Rodizio restaurant. If you like hot, spicy sauces ask for their habanero sauce. Our wonderful servers were Antonio Hernandez and Yucelo Ramirez. We went to the French restaurant, Brasseri, three times. It was our favourite! The staff were amazing....Yuceli Ramirez, Yussi Jijon, Jacob Suarez, Mario Guevara, Miquel Pech and Miriam Robles. Make sure you ask for the chocolate box! After dinner we would head to the lobby Carey bar. It was a great spot to meet up with new friends. Maria Perez and Consuelo Perez were fabulous waitresses, remembering evening to evening what we liked to drink. The grounds were spectacular and meticulously kept. There is a covered walk way that will take you from the Palace lobby all the way to the Maya Mall and beyond to the Maya Beach resort at the far end of the property. They are building a 6th resort which will be an adults only resort and is set to open October 2019.

    “Amazing Resort!”

Our family was amazed at how well this resort is maintained. Smiles all around, especially at all the dining areas. We would especially like to give thanks to Mariela Tejero, whom I believe exeeded her efforts in not only hosting and tending to our needs, but for being such a great character when greeting us in the mornings. Daniela Uco, Leyli Gomez, Elizabeth, Ruben Altuna, Senon Gomez at the main buffet were so kind to us. To the people who tended to us very kindly at the Boca restaurant we would like to give a special thanks to Lucio Chi, Angel Tamay, and Alex Lopez. To those who tended to us very kindly at La Fuente we would like to give a special thanks to Daniela Aguilar, Irma Mendoza, and Eric Barrios. And last but not least Katya at the front desk was absolutely darling and wonderful to us.
