“Wonderful 7 day vacation at the Barcelo Maya Palace”

We just returned home after a wonderful 7 day vacation at the Barcelo Maya Palace. Our garden view room was on the 3rd floor in block 2 of the Oaxaca section. The room was beautifully appointed. There was plenty of storage space with two closets and lots of drawers. The fridge was restocked daily with beer, juice, pop, peanuts and chips. The maid did an amazing job cleaning our room daily. We spent most of our days at the adults only pool. The staff at the El Cielo bar were outstanding. Big shout out to the bartenders Diego Velazquez and Alejandro Mayti and the waitresses Maribel Perez and Nancy Garcia who never let our glasses remain empty, bringing us new drinks before we could even ask for them. Amazing! We started our days at the Mirador Buffet restaurant where the staff were excellent. Amazing team work. Hermenegildo Cituk, Alfredo Chi, Marcos Juarez, Rebecca Perez, Lucio Chi and Esmeralda Jimenez. Pedro Che, their supervisor, would frequently stop by to make sure everything was okay. While the staff were exceptional, we were a little disappointed with the buffet food. While we always found something to eat, the food never "wowed" us. The a la carte restaurants, on the other hand, did wow us. We went to several a la carte restaurants and loved them all. Our first night we ate at the Kyoto restaurant where we enjoyed the Teppanyaki style dinner. We were very impressed with the waitress who took our order as she went around the table inquiring if anyone had any food restrictions/allergies. As we do have certain restrictions we were very pleased that the chef cooked our food first, avoiding any cross contamination. Unfortunately, we were very jet lagged and too tired to get the names of the waitress and the chef. We had an amazing dinner at La Trattoria. Veal with mushroom gravy sauce was amazing! A big shout out to our waiter Heber Rodriquez who patiently tried to teach me how to fold my napkin as they so beautifully do as they set the tables. We had a fabulous dinner at the Rodizio restaurant. If you like hot, spicy sauces ask for their habanero sauce. Our wonderful servers were Antonio Hernandez and Yucelo Ramirez. We went to the French restaurant, Brasseri, three times. It was our favourite! The staff were amazing....Yuceli Ramirez, Yussi Jijon, Jacob Suarez, Mario Guevara, Miquel Pech and Miriam Robles. Make sure you ask for the chocolate box! After dinner we would head to the lobby Carey bar. It was a great spot to meet up with new friends. Maria Perez and Consuelo Perez were fabulous waitresses, remembering evening to evening what we liked to drink. The grounds were spectacular and meticulously kept. There is a covered walk way that will take you from the Palace lobby all the way to the Maya Mall and beyond to the Maya Beach resort at the far end of the property. They are building a 6th resort which will be an adults only resort and is set to open October 2019.

    “Amazing Resort!”

Our family was amazed at how well this resort is maintained. Smiles all around, especially at all the dining areas. We would especially like to give thanks to Mariela Tejero, whom I believe exeeded her efforts in not only hosting and tending to our needs, but for being such a great character when greeting us in the mornings. Daniela Uco, Leyli Gomez, Elizabeth, Ruben Altuna, Senon Gomez at the main buffet were so kind to us. To the people who tended to us very kindly at the Boca restaurant we would like to give a special thanks to Lucio Chi, Angel Tamay, and Alex Lopez. To those who tended to us very kindly at La Fuente we would like to give a special thanks to Daniela Aguilar, Irma Mendoza, and Eric Barrios. And last but not least Katya at the front desk was absolutely darling and wonderful to us.

“Overal , it was an excelent service.”

I can not find words of gratitude and appreciation for the attention we received from all the staff at Caribe Restaurant. A shout out to the best CHEF Amador Santoyo. The grill octopus was delicious. A big thanks to Hector Angeles to make this happen. I hope to see you guys soon.CONS:Restaurant TOKYO MAYA MALL. Make sure ones you make reservations, ask details about how the restaurant works.....because we had a bad experience on our date of reservations.we arrived late, therefore we where told that we will not be able to see the Teppanyaki show.they offered us a table which i thought it was ok.ones i noticed the show, i wet back and asked the host manager (which was very unprofessional, rude and unhelpful) if it would be possible to get chairs at the Teppanyaki show. she said she was not able to accommodate us. I asked to speak to the manager and her reply was "he is very busy right now"( that he will come and talk to me in about 20 minutes,)hen ever showed up.at the end, we had a good time with the show and left.

“Relaxing in Paradise -Married (47 years) age 67”

Our trip began on September 12, 2018. We stayed for 8 days. Weather was perfect. We paid for the Club Premium and had an ocean front room. Be prepared to walk a lot. We only ate at the Palace restaurant. Our favorite restaurant is the French. Ask for Adrian Lopez. He is will take care of you. On the last night, my husband had two lobsters. He even wrapped up a “surprise Chocolate box” to be safely packed in the suitcase. We loved the swimming pool at the Palace. Angel will take care of your needs at the swimming pool bar. My husband and I love the Carey Bar. Almost every night someone plays the piano. Consuelo Perez made our evenings so enjoyable. She never let our glasses get empty. We will certainly be back within the year.
