    “Barcelo Marbella”

    The hotel was fab, the staff were so lovely and location is fab if you don’t want to be in the centre of Marbella. There are lots of lovely restaurants in the area. The hotel rooms are spacious and the pool area is lovely.

    “Overall review”

    Just visited this hotel in the past week. I’ve been very disappointed. What I expected was not was achieved. The room was outdated and there was rust in both the shower and bath. The air conditioning was very poor. Toilet had to be flushed several times. The room clean only consisted of making and changing the beds and on some days it wasn’t changed. We had paid for a room for 3 but all the 3rd bed was, was just a push up bed which was wheeled in when we got there. Staff at the bar were great so friendly and quick to serve. However, the food breakfast lunch and dinner were inadequate. The food was always served warm. Not much selection for the size of the hotel. 2 occasions I was served raw chicken I had a conversation with the manager and nothing happened they continued to serve it raw as I tried it again to see if I had improved. The seriousness of the issue of raw meat is major and especially when juniors are consuming. The hotel is not near any shops and is very much out the way of all town centres. Poolside very quiet no entertainment/music. I’m gutted my stay in Marbella was slanted by this, I must give credit to the bar staff more than enough they were spot on. But I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone unfortunately.

    “Disappointing!”

    Room floor was dirty when we checked in. We asked them to clean it again when we went out for dinner but when we came back it was still dirty. The fan in the room was not working. The toilet flush was weak and not working properly. The shower glass door has a big space at the bottom of it so every time we took a shower the bathroom floor flooded with water. There were no teaspoons in the room and the milk was not replenished on a daily basis unless we asked for it! When we asked why house keeping was not replacing the teaspoons and milk, their answer was "I don't know".

    “They really make you feel unwelcomed”

    From the moment we got to the hotel the experience has been more appropriate from a hostel than a 4* hotel. There was some confusion at check in with the room that we had booked, and the treatment we received from the lady at reception was appalling. Her arrogance and lack of empathy was not what we expected from a brand like Barceló. Our experience has not improved from them. The water in the room is just a welcome treat, after that,I guess you need to drink from the tab. Well,we have been told by a staff member that the tap water is not drinkable. Those little sachets of coffee? If you want some, you need to get them yourself, that is what we were told. We have just come back to our room at 4:30 in the afternoon, and the room was not made up from when we left in the morning. Maybe I am being picky, but, I expect these services when I stay at a hotel. The balcony lock does not work, the front door does not work... I would not return. I will not return. And I dread the nights I have left here. But, they took our money upfront... No wonder.

Sentimos que al llegar al hotel su habitación no fuera lo que usted esperaba, pero era la habitación que la persona que hizo su solicitud nos reservó. De hecho me confirma mi compañera que contactaron con ella y así lo entendió. Ella se comprometió a informarle de esto, así que lo dejamos en sus manos. Le pedimos disculpas si cree usted que no nos comportamos en nuestra habitual linea de amabilidad y cortesía. Informarle que el hotel dispone de varias opciones después de las botellas de cortesía. Puede usted seleccionar el pack de bebidas del minibar o bien solicitar botellas de agua al room service. Comentarle que nosotros no aconsejamos beber agua del grifo a los clientes aunque los nativos del lugar lo solamos hacer. Como usted bien sabe, puede no sentar bien a algunas personas. Le pido disculpas por lo que nos comenta de que la habitación no estaba hecha a su vuelta. creo que el malentendido viene de que mis compañeros le van a cambiar de habitación, estaban y están esperando que se pase por recepción para hacerlo. Siento mucho su malestar y estamos seguros de que conseguiremos cambiar su experiencia en nuestro hotel en los días que les queda con nosotros, si nos da la oportunidad. No me encuentro en nuestro hotel en estos momentos pero mi compañero Alvaro estará encantado de atenderle en cualquier momento que desee. Espero poder volver al hotel antes de su salida y poder saludarle personalmente para comprobar que al final,ha tenido una buena estancia en nuestro hotel.
