    “Extremely satisfied all round”

An amazing hotel with lots of places to relax and eat. Great food, comfortable, clean rooms and great service with the guest in mind from all staff we interacted with. No issues or concerns all week and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice holiday.

“Nice holiday at the Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort”

We had a wonderful one week all inclusive at the Barcelo Castillo Beach Resort in October 2019. We had a superior apartment which was very clean ans cozy. It had a separate bedroom for the adults, room for the children and a living area with a small separate kitchen. Maid service was top-of-the-line leaving the room clean and fresh every day. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and pleasant throughout the stay. Food: The was a good selection of many different types of food for breakfast, lunch, and diner. There was wonderful of variety and we all had no problems finding anything to eat at any time. The food was always plentiful even towards the end of the sitting, the food was hot, tasty what more could you ask for!We used the pool area the buffet restaurant. Sun bed availability was fantastic, no need to get up early to get a sun bed. The pools were uncrowded. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

“Not 4 star, poor all inclusive! ”

The entertainment and activities available at the hotel are of a fairly good standard. The pool areas and the location of the hotel is also excellent - however, I think they rely on these selling points far too much! The overall holiday experience could be drastically improved if more effort was made with the quality of produce and general customer service levels, especially for those on the all inclusive deal. On arrival we was given a room key and directed to the room, it was around 8pm and dark outside. The room seemed a long way from receiption and the pathways that lead to the rooms are very poorly lit. There was no offer of a porter to show us to the room or take our bags - even though we had my 72yr old mum with us and they had golf buggies parked outside. We noticed people on royal level were offered a lift in the golf buggies even though our room was actually further away! The rooms are ok but nothing special, we had 3 different rooms for our group and some were noticeably more dated than others! All beds are singles and get pushed together but they easily slide apart, which is annoying. There is a kettle in the room with a fridge but no arrival drinks are supplied, no tea, coffee or milk provided... is that 4 star quality? The all inclusive buffet restaurant was very busy and no effort is made to find you a table / seat, you have to walk around and find your own - in busy times it’s not easy to find a table that is free and clean, especially as a large group! The layout is poor as people arriving walk right through the middle of the buffet area so it gets very congested with people trying to get food too - it can be a bit stressful. Not much effort is made to vary the selection of food available for evening dinner times - it got very boring and repetitive after a few days. None of the other places to eat on site are included within the all inclusive package, this is really poor as you would normally expect at least one visit to one of the other restaurants to be included. You only get a 15% discount off the bill in any of the other places to eat but your drinks are not even included, surely at least larger and local wine should still be all inclusive in these places?? It means they’re not worth visiting because other local places are far better quality and work out much cheaper! Food in the buffet restaurant is also often cold and VERY cheap quality produce is used - I’ve honestly seen better in my childs school canteen! The bacon and sausages at breakfast time are awful quality and so are the fruit juices on offer. In the Royal level restaurant you get a totally different quality of produce, which is annoying as after visiting those (at a huge premium) you feel like there is a total lack of service and care for the majority who are on the all inclusive package, when compared to those on royal level. The desert selection for dinner is also boring, cheap produce, even the cheese selection is poor. The drinks within the all inclusive deal are all cheap local brands and the lager (Tropical) seems to be watered down compared to the same brand served in other local places. The bars charge 2 to 4 euros extra if you want a premium brand drink and even charge 3 euros for iced coffee, it isn’t included (unless you are Royal level) for some strange reason? There are also no inclusive drinks anywhere in the hotel between 5 and 6 (unless on royal level again) as all bars close between this time. Once the buffet restaurant closes there is nowhere to get a late night snack, an area to make your own sandwich is needed or even just supply a few pastries and cakes etc... again not 4 star all inclusive in my experience! You have to pay 10 euros deposit for beach towels and if you want a clean one they charge you 2 euros per towel. You also have to pay extra for activities like mini golf and to use the gym - surely these things should be included when you’ve paid for all inclusive upgrades? This hotel also really needs to improve its environmental policies too - very little or no effort is made! They still use plastic cups and straws everywhere - they are often blown away into the sea!! No effort is made to recycle the thousand of plastic cups used each day, they are simply thrown away into standard rubbish bins. I didn’t spot one recycling bin in my whole time there. To sum it up, it’s an average hotel that sits in a very nice spot but don’t bother with the all inclusive package unless you are on royal level.

    “Peace and quiet”

We were totally self catering. There is a well stocked supermarket nearby which sells almost everything. The fridge was soon stocked up .The beach is clean and the sea crystal clear. You can swim with the fishes. The lifeguards really care about peoples safety . Definitely a family holiday resort .

“Very good value for your money”

Just arrive back home after spending another week at Barcelo, again didn’t let us down, good location, clean & comfy rooms, food: plenty to choice from. Friendly staff who work so hard, which makes this resort what it is. We think it’s value for money
