Would recommend this to anyone eating a relaxing holiday or any families out there looking to keep children entertained, there are a lot of activities nearby the hotel and a lovely beach to relax on!!

    “Brilliant!”

Great stay here. Facilities are very good. The animation team are brilliant, both during the day and at night. Carla, Dany and Ruby were stand out members. Cheeky enough to motivate you to take part and have fun without coming across as pushy! Thank you for making our stay amazing!

    “Fully recommend this resort”

We just came back from our honeymoon. Fabulous place and will definitely return soon. Only minor issues was we were not given full details on how systems worked, ie buying an ice cream ( sounds silly but when you don’t know and haven’t been given the information about opening a credit account it’s both embarrassing and time consuming), and a slightly grumpy man at the pool bar tuts and points a finger in the direction of reception. The evening entertainment was quite poor and the theatre is set out in quite an uninviting manner. Felt more could have been done here. We felt that although the food was very good it could have been warmer. That said it didn’t detract from our holiday. Brilliant location. Amazed to find WiFi all over the resort even the apartments. Can’t wait to go back

“Probably would not stay here again”

We are a family of four, two adults and two children (9 and 11) and were at the Castillo Beach Resort from 13-27 August 2018. Overall opinion: we probably would not go back to this hotel again, as we found it overpriced and in some cases sub-standard for what it provided. To be fair to the hotel, I'll start with the positive points: - great location right in the center of activity; - beautiful public beach within yards of the hotel (you pay for the chairs and umbrellas); - very friendly and multi-lingual hotel staff, always smiling and ready to help; - the quality of food was poor during the first few days of our stay but improved dramatically to end up being very good overall. Now for the negative points: - All-inclusive...??? We were told by our travel agency (Itaka) that "local" alcohols would cost extra. In reality all mixed drinks and hard alcohol had to be paid for out of pocket. The only beverages covered by all-inclusive were soft drinks (Coca Cola, etc.) beer and wine. After repeatedly trying to order mixed drinks at all of the hotel bars and seeing others do the same only to be told that they were not part of all-inclusive service, it was clear that this was not some one-time misunderstanding or confusion but an established hotel policy. If your travel agency tells you otherwise, be sure to get it in writing. (Read the other reviews to see what others have to say on this point...). - The hotel buffet restaurant where meals were served was too small for the number of hotel guests and was constantly overcrowded with a feeling of being cramped like sardines! It was also very unattractive with no atmosphere and seemed more like a large room (chow hall...) with tables. We repeatedly had long waits for tables no matter what time we chose to eat. I'm not talking about 5-10 minutes, but sometimes 15-25 minutes, only to find a table that hadn't been properly cleaned or set by the overworked dining room staff after the previous occupants left. And as all this was happening, sections of the restaurant were closed off (I guess to make cleanup easier for the staff ???) On several occasions we had to seek out the manager to ask that a closed section be opened as there were no clean tables available. Almost immediately after the new section was "grudgingly" opened it filled up with other diners who were in the same situation. - The hotel is massive and covers a huge area, not unlike a maze. There are city streets running right through the hotel grounds which makes it unsafe for children and also makes burglary a potential problem. You can't assume people walking around the hotel grounds are hotel guests. We were told by our Itaka resident to make sure to rent safes for our rooms as there had been problems in the past. - Confusion as to what bars were included in the hotel's (limited) all-inclusive service. Some bars were only all-inclusive during evening hours. Parts of the hotel are actually in the port-marina area, so you need a timetable and map to figure out what bars are part of the hotel and when their (limited) all-inclusive service starts. - The evening entertainment in the hotel "Theater" was at best amateurish and at worst pathetic. During our two-week stay we really only saw two acts that were of professional quality. Once again, the seating in the hotel theater was limited and it was almost always packed to overflowing, hot and stuffy. The line for drinks (beer, wine) usually stretched around the room. - There's no green or grassy area with palm trees anywhere by the hotel pools. It's all hot concrete. So if you're looking for a relaxing, green and shady area to get away from the noise of the pools you're out of luck. At least this fact can be seen from the brochures in advance. - The rooms are old and in need of renovation with cracks in the walls and peeling paint. We had a four-person room (two adults and two children) and it was small and cramped compared to other hotels we've stayed in with our kids. The sofa-bed for the children was rickety and in two pieces and there was always the chance the bottom piece would push away during the night and the children would fall through the gap to the floor. When we asked for a replacement at reception we were told that this was the best the hotel had to offer. Summary: it's not a terrible hotel and has many nice points, but taken all together and for the price, we probably wouldn't go back even though we loved Fuerteventura!

“lovely place but wouldnt recommend all-inclusive”

had a very nice and relaxing stay. Staff very friendly. I stayed all-inclusive which i would not bother doing again. The evening entertainment was not to my taste and as a result we ended up having to go out every evening which was a waste of all-inclusive. Otherwise the room was very comfortable and quiet and our stay was very enjoyable. I would very much recommend staying here for its relaxed athmosphere and great location.
