    “Beautiful and Windy”

Looks like paradise. People who work there are great and friendly. Be aware that the wind NEVER stops blowing. This means it's never to hot. It also means the sand is swept off the beach and often pelts you. Like a Minnesota winter when snow drifts. Here sand drifts. Terrific pool but very few ever used it because the water was too cold. Mark a chair @ the pool early. People put their towels on a chair and you can't find a free chair for most of the day. Food was generally good. Chez Gourmet is a must. The French, Italian and Japanese dining were also pretty darn good. The Santa Fe steak house was disappointing. Drinks were excellent and plentiful. Needs more live music. Rooms were good and maid service wonderful. Bring a much of $1's & $5's for tipping. No, tipping isn't required and the staff doesn't seem to expect them but few do it so a small tip can light up a face.

“A very relly relaxing two weeks, most of which was spent on the beach which was one of the best I have seen in the world”

We spent the first part of our holiday in a Superior Sea-view room 3085 during the last week of January 2018 which looked out onto the lawn, and some 50 m further, the beach. It was ideal, but as mentioned in another persons recent review, this room is on the top floor, and due to the high winds which appeared from time to time, we lost part of the roof in the early hours on the fourth day. For the next five hours, from 01.30 onward, through the night, we were kept awake until day-break, by the engineers who were doing their best on the roof, to stop the rain coming into the next three adjoining bedrooms I did comment to Guest Services, that not only was it not a great night for us, but that sadly no member of the Management apologized or explained what happened. After a further three days of suggesting that this was not really a great way to treat people who have spent a sizable amount of money to stay that this hotel, we eventually met with Management who explained what had happened and suggested that, due to an unrelated minor electrical problem in the room, would we like to stay at another room directly overlooking the beach which would be an upgrade. We took them up on this but frankly feel that the ordinary Sea View room is was preferable, as both are identical other then the original room is 50 m from the beach and in my opinion not worth spending another bunch of dollars for this basic facility My only other negative comment, is that both here in the DR, and also at the Barcelo Mayan resort in Cancun where we visited the previous year, that checking in and out is a nightmare and took 30 minutes in each direction. Leaving the resort and being aware of the difficulties in Mexico, I checked-out in Bavaro the night before, but with just four items on the Bill, it took them half an hour to work out the figures charged by the Spa, and which were fully covered by our voucher. Not a good thing when pressed for time to get to the airport if left to the last minute ! On the plus side, and apart from the above hopefully unusual events, it is a great place to stay at, with not only with some 2km of their own uncrowded beachfront, but you can walk for several hours almost 14 Km , past all the other properties adjoining this pristine beach. One person who we were in daily contact with and who must be congratulated on his customer care, is Sr Kisairo Gonzales, one of the Managers of the main 400 seat buffet restaurant at Bavaro Beach. His attention to detail with his staff and also to the guests, is to be commended as is his positive enthusiasm, and indeed is his excellent command of English

    “Great Service and Delicious Foos”

Everything was amazing. Evelyn and Yokatia at Guest Services found us reservations last minute on a restaurant for St Valentines day on our honeymoon. The staff here really care about your experience and they'll work tirelessly to make your stay a dream. Only minor complaint was poolside area guests will hog the beach chairs even when nowhere nearby. I heard some guests will even arrive at 5am to leave some belongings hoping to "reserve" their spot on a chair long. This is bad practice and should be controlled in some way.

    “Nice place”

Staff is very welcoming, smiling, ready for a small talk with the guests at any place of the hotel, except for one(1!) barman at the in-pool bar who got offended after he thought we called him amigA which really was a slip of the tongue of my husband who doesn’t speak a tiny bit of Spanish or any other language but Russian( not like his multilingual wife. Ha-ha). Sorry, AmigO, hope you are fine! Spanish now is on my study list ;) Animation team is one love ;) Guys, you turned dull rainy days in sunny! So we thank the personnel department of BBB for their professional work of hiring the right team and the department responsible for the personnel’s coaching and growth. Imho, the first place is the people who make your stay ! The receptionists at the vip lounge, waitresses and the cook how can you be sooo sweeet ??!! Kisses and hugs from us! Food was of wide variety (and quality, too. Not always perfect, but never bad or upsetting our stomachs). “Chez Gourmet” was beyond magnefique. French restaurant on the BBP site was great, too! But the staff was better at chez gourmet. Drinks are nice both local and international. The best bars, as we think, were in casino and BBB”s lobby and ,of course, vip lounge bar - just perfect. YUuummm that cheese, jamon and ice champagne...! Because of the service pack included in our stay, we took vip Level front ocean. Honestly, the room is very tired and poorly maintained and cleaned. The beach is ok. Nature is nature, thanks God! Seaweeds have their right to exist. Another shore can be an option for those who look for impeccably clean sand. The water itself was gorgeous and we could find clear spots for relaxing swim. You know what ...? I miss this place -BBB and we dream of coming back here with our kids and friends some day. Thanks for reading! Smile for my pictures, please :)
