    “Small but Very Clean...”

    My husband and I came here for our anniversary in July 2017. The property is much smaller than what we are used to when we travel with another hotel chain, and the beach was even smaller (more like an over-sized sandbox). There was too much seaweed to really enjoy the ocean. The employees were extremely nice and we always received great service! The property is probably one of the cleanest I've ever seen. There weren't many activities to do like billiards, darts, etc. which was kind of disappointing. There were only 2 bars and the food in 3 of 4 restaurants was not good at all!!! We didn't eat at the Mexican one. We ended up walking down the street to a local restaurant 2 of the days. The shows at night were ok. Our room was tiny (maybe 250-300 sq ft) and the "balcony" was only big enough for 3 or so people to stand. I would return IF we were with older family members that couldn't get around well and needed a smaller property...but if it was just us and our son, we would go somewhere else.

    “First time at a Barcelo resort”

    Nice people and staff, room, food and entertainment. Small beach next to a pirate ship marina, can smell fume when the boats are there. It was nice early in the morning when it was still peaceful and quiet.

    “our first stay when landing”

    It is a all inclusive resort which we were not aware of when booking but were happy to know when we got there since our flight was a red eye and we were exhausted. Our room was clean with a nice patio. The beach was just out front of our hotel plus the ferry that goes to isla mujeres boards right out front the hotel. Had lots of buffets to eat but as all buffets all restaurant had the same similar foods.

    “Great Value!”

    Pros: location, food variety, night shows, beach shade and seating, cleanliness, day activities Cons: limited beach next to Marina, not so friendly front desk or gift shop, dinner reservations require 7:00 am wake-up and long line with not very flexible hotel employees

    “Horrible”

    Didn't enjoy the stay hotel front desk rep was rude I kept calling to get towel changing and to get my room cleaned the food was horrible the drinks taste water down the people in general was very rude the pool was a small setting I would recommend the beach area they won't let you eat in the restaurants with beach clothes for the buffet maybe because my friends and I was built differently so many people was arguing with the guest because the whole hotel is a rip off and not worth the money never again!!!!!!!
