Nice place food so so excellent rooms ideally nice staff, time share deal was a joke, not a lot off variety for food , beach was very nice also, didn't realize there would be that many kids, probably would go somewhere else more adult

“All Inclusive Occidental Cozumel - Bad Idea”

-Customer service: Very poorly trained staff who is very quick at saying NO. One word that is almost forbidden in customer service is No, but these guys will tell you NO like it's their right and say it quite frequently. -FOOD Options + Quality: The buffet (both afternoon and evening) were primarily stuffed with Red Meat only. There were so little food options for vegetarian/vegan people. Also, the quality of the food being served could improve substantially. They make 4 desserts everyday but might be a good idea to stop and taste them to see if they really taste like desserts as well. -INTERNET - Firstly, there is no internet reception at the property. we bought AT&T sim card that worked perfectly downtown, but as soon as you enter Occidental, it would stop working. Then we bought their internet package (which btw only worked in your room and at a time, only on ONE machine.) And that costed $12/day!!! What the hell is that. -PRESENTATION - They make you do a mandatory presentation of 1.5 hours around the hotel where its some scheme to charge you exorbitant prices for a hotel deal that's locked in for the next 25 years (They quoted us $30,000 USD!!!!). This is mandatory if you want to receive any discounts on activities.

    “Awesome Stay on Cozumel”

I booked this resort after reviews I found on tripadvisor so I feel like I have to help contribute :) The resort itself is pretty small, but cozy which I enjoyed. Our room was a decent size and was what I expected, however we had a balcony off the front of our room which was a nice surprise. The beach, pool and bars were awesome. Only thing that I'd "complain" about is the food - I didn't have high expectations as most of the reviews I read said the food was sub-par but I was really disappointed with the lack of local cuisine. Not one time were there tacos!! It seems to be Americanized which I felt lacked the authenticity of what I expected from a resort in Mexico. All in all, I would recommend this resort to friends or family and would probably stay again if I found myself on Cozumel in the future.

I like the all inclusive aspect. Housekeeping was always ready right and early to clean your room. Everything on the resort closes super early though. There were some pretty cool activities but I wish the DJ's music selection was a little diversified. The concierge made traveling to excursion super easy. The vacation club presentation is time consuming (even when you tell them you have no money) Overall though I truly enjoyed my vacation

“Beautiful grounds and great service.....food lacking and poor.”

We just returned from a 5 day stay at Occidental Cozumel. Weather was great. Beach and pool was beautiful and we never had trouble getting a chair at either. The grounds are amazing and jungle like. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Showers hot and beds comfortable. We had amazing service from nearly everyone we encountered. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Jesus in activities, Justino at the pool bar, and Alberto in La Carreta. We upgraded to Royal Luxury level and enjoyed this service as it gave us access to wifi and La Carreta...however I do feel that this service could be improved on to add more benefit for the upcharge. The only area that needs ALOT of improvement is the quality and variety of the food. Breakfast was ok with typical options. Lunch is lacking tremendously. The beach buffet is quite small and the food is poor. There was processed chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pizza and burgers that were not good, a few pasta options, minimal meat or fish options, and a salad bar. I survived on chips, salsa and guacamole which were very good. Dinner options were ok. The Sonora Grill had the best meal for us this week. If the hotel can improve the food then my rating would be a 4. Food is barely a 2. Service and hotel grounds are a 4. SO I rated this hotel as a 3 but would choose another hotel next trip due to the food.
