    “Good value.”

    I will start with the good things. The food was on par with what we paid. Fish was very fresh and so good. Lunch buffet offered more than I would assume there would be. We never walked away hungry. The grounds and rooms were updated recently and clean. The entertainment staff, servers and bartenders went out of their way to please you and were wonderful. Here is the bad. Reception staff seemed unorganized. We had asked for two double beds and were assigned a room with a king. When brought to their attention, they claimed that is what was requested. We had to show them on our itinerary that we booked a room with two doubles. It took 3 hrs before we were finally given a room. Watch out for the timeshare guys who will claim they are concierge and they are going to go over your packet to show you where things are in the resort. You will spend your first hour with them trying to sell you a timeshare. Overall, we had a good experience. The first day we were there was the only drawback.

    “Had the best vacation in my life”

    I arrived on December 23rd and stayed till January 7th, 2017. 16 days of pure bliss. We arrived and had to wait for our room, I had expected that because it was holiday season. However, we were able to change into our vacation clothes and we got a tour of the hotel while we waited for our room get ready. Everyone is very polite and welcoming, I had no problem blending in. At Allegro they have a party team where they keep you busy all the time! We got to the beach at 10 AM they had stretching class, some other games, Volleyball everyday, pool gym and so much more. If you are worried about gaining weight during your vacation, you can lay a ease because they will make sure you are always active. They also have a kids club, this is great for parents that want some downtime away from the kids. Food is amazing, I had sometime adjusting to the food. Which again is expected, I was ready for it, after years of travelling I know my body is going go through each phase. Whatever you do not drink the water from the faucet, drink only water bottle. They have different buffet them everyday in both the pool eating area, and the buffet at the lobby area. They have 3 gourmet options Mexican, Italian and Oriental. Both Mexican and Italian were great, however, they need to work on their Oriental. The rooms were nice and clean, the bed is very comfortable and the shower was great. On the day before we left we had a little problem with the water which was coming out salty, but for someone who had been bathing in salt water for the past 14 days is not the water in my bathroom that would bum out my vacation. Overall, this is a great hotel, small family based, great food and the most important best beach! Also, the staff are always smiling and making you have a great time, I have traveled a great deal in my life, but this stay created great friend and memories.

    “19 people in the family stayed here and we had a blast!”

    We had a family gathering at this great resort last week, and all of us from age 10 - 76 had a really fabulous time. The resort is beautiful, relaxed, and the weather was great. What was excellent: -Location: 20 minute walk on the beach or secure road into Playa, lots of beach in the other direction as well, shopping center (with Starbucks!) 3 minute walk away, and only 45 minutes or so from the Cancun airport -Staff: friendly, not too in your face, enjoyed their jobs and were fun to talk with. The buffet servers were especially great and cheery in the morning! -Size - The beach is at one end, the buffet and lobby at the other end, and one simple main walkway connecting them both. We could always find each other, and see each other walking from one place to another -Buffet - excellent food, lots of variety, and very relaxing and elegant environment. The lunch buffet right at the beach/pool area was also outstanding, with plenty of options -People: lots of Italiens and Mexicans there, which gave it a different feel than other resorts -Beach - truly exceptional sand, water is clear, lots of space, groomed every morning. Plus there are lots of palm trees for shade Not so excellent: -Restaurants: there are only two on the property and require reservations, but I suggest sticking with the food. The atmosphere and service is fine, but the food quality isn't great -Night noise - try to get a villa/room closer to the pool area. The entertainment area is right near the lobby/buffet and puts out a fair amount of noise till late. Our poor kids were in villa 12 and had to deal with noise from the bar till 2 am on our last night - not fun! Definitely would return here again!

    “greatly improved”

    ALLEGRO PLAYACAR We were there December 24 and left January 7th The resort has been totally renovated a few areas were still ongoing. Lobby entrance totally redone. They moved the time share desk inside it opened up the former area. But l don't like that they are across from the front desk as people are checking in they are standing behind them to talk to them not giving them a chance to relax. The gardens have had a lot bushes & trees removed and new ones replaced. The restaurant upstairs many changes for the better. The bar upstairs is open at 7am and is now a sports bar and nice place to relax. It also has all day popcorn, pizza and hot dogs. The pool area has greatly improved also the pool bar now has a dishwasher. The hot food is put out in restaurants is the biggest improvement always covered and temperature controlled. The rooms are roomier the walk in shower very safe. There a lot more plugs. The wooden steps have been replaced with cement ones & safer railings All staff friendly. One complaint at lunch at pool buffet some the staff would tell men put shirts on and woman to cover up. I agree with it but then other staff would not say anything. Signs should be posted and all staff told to stop people not just a few. Had great holiday this was our 5th year planning again. we spoke to manager several times he was always friendly and helpful

    “Excellent Beach”

    We have been to numerous all inclusive resort and would rate this place a 3 out of 5. The rooms are small and recently renovated. We were originally assigned a club room which I would describe as a motel room at best and the staff said it was for VIPs. We stayed one night in the room and asked for a different room in the morning. They were very accommodating and gave us a newly renovated room. This size of the resort is small which was good as everything was close by. The beach area is one of the best in the area. The location of the resort was great a 30 minute walk to 5th street in Playa del Carmen or $90 peso cab ride. You can either walk on the beach or the street. The food was ok. Not much variety. Lunch was definitely better than dinner. The resort has potential if a few more upgrades and better food. It could use a gym. Only complaint as the Animation manager refused to give my son a basketball after it was 5:00 pm. I dont know what his problem was. There was still lots of light out.
