    “Crash My Playa Week”

    We went to Crash My Playa for a week and Barcelo Maya was the host hotel. We had a wonderful time, until the last day. We had added an additional two nights to our stay and made a $50 deposit. This was supposed to be applied to our stay, which is was not. Not a big deal but long story short, after being promised that they would refund the money and multiple emails, it never happened. This was really unfortunate, because the stay overall was really nice, but spending thousands of dollars at the resort and then being left with a bad experience at the very end, really sucks. I gave them weeks to make it right and told them if they did not, I would be putting this review up. :-(

    “Don't book this hotel. Horrible”

    POOLS/Beach Pools very cold not heated have to wait until 3pm for the water to worm-up. Beach - Lot of Rocks and sharp under water rocks cut ourselves many times. Sand is dirty filled with cigarette buts I saw used condoms a few times. FOOD Buffet- the only thing that they change in there every day are bottle displays and sauces. Food is the same everyday. artificial juices, yogurts are 3 day before expiration date always available for you- also very cheap and artificial. All my family got diarrhea (good thing we had antibiotics with us. Doctor suggested to take them with us from Canada). Crabs had NO crag legs just empty shells with guts just a display. Soups are very salty. Everything is very deep-fried and they don't change the oil at all. Restaurants - nothing special. it is the same food from buffet Staff Almost no one speaks English or speak very weak English. They speak with you in Spanish even though they see that you don't. It is impossible to get a hold of a manager - if you do it will be some one that has no authority at all. Check-in 3-4 hour check horrible no cocktails on arrival. Rooms/room service Rooms outdated badly . Room service never change sheets unless you ask for it. and always forget to refill coffee or bathroom supplies. Don't speak English at all. I had to translate everything to Spanish for them. Bed sheets are always sandy for some reason when changed. A good thing about this hotel is grounds are beautiful and that is it

    “Hotel”

    Loved the area and how well kept the grounds were. Daytime entertainment wasnt very good but evening was very good. Food was good however same things every day. The evening resturants were AMAZING.....my absolute favourite

    “Wonderful stay overall but...”

    We had a wonderful time overall. The hotel was absolutely beautiful! We did how ever have trouble speaking to the guest service reps. They gave us very little information at arrival and we felt rushed. We had to find out a lot about the hotel and what It offered on our own which became frustrating because it took up alot of our time where we could have been doing something if we knew. It took us over 40mintues to check out and leave which in turn made us late for our transportation back to the airport and made other people in the van very frustrated. We even showed up early to check out! Overall we enjoyed our stay minus the set backs but would have been alot better if we had more help.

    “Great experience”

    This resort had everything: Pool, beach, water sports, dolphins, entertainment, shopping, restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Tip- ask questions about rules and policies. For example, you have to reserve a 8:30 spot to learn about the water equipment in order to use the equipment throughout the day. Also, you get allotted a certain number of sit down dinners depending on your package. Make these reservations right away! Even before you check in if they let you. We got what reservations that were left and were treated like a peasant at the sit down restaurants. The buffet, in the other hand has very friendly and attentive staff! They were the best! They had every type of food you can think of, but it’s best to go to the station where they cook it in front of you so it’s nice and hot. The drinks were watered down, but I assume that’s what you get in an all-inclusive. The entertainment was amazing! The dancers and singers were truly talented m! The shows were very entertaining! Overall, good trip.
