    “Lesser known Spain”

Barely 15 minutes from the uncrowded Almeria Airport, this hotel has high standards, but it is primarily catering for Spanish guests. Yes, I would guess 25% British, and there was a SAGA group there, but, frankly, we like it that way. We had booked on a B&B basis, but very quickly it was evident that the nearest restaurants were over 1km away, and didn't look particularly inspiring, so we upgraded to HB. This would be €18 per person per night, but booking for the entire week.made this €15. Excellent value with a great variety - occasional theme nights, too. House wine was €11, again excellent value. Our seaview room was generous and kept immaculately clean - a bigger bathroom than we have here! Wifi was good, as was the air-con. However, overlooking the pools and gardens had a downside in that every night bar Sunday there was VERY loud disco music starting at 10.30pm, We could see this was popular, but bear in mind it could affect sleep quality. There were plenty of sunloungers, but despite the hotel stipulating that they shouldn't be 'booked' pre breakfast, many did. If the hotel states towels will be removed, why not do it?? Flies were a nuisance at meal times, and an electric 'zapper' would be an idea for the restaurant. When I came to pay my final bill I noticed that the add-on dinners had been charged twice. It was corrected without problem, but it shouldn't happen. The hotel has no shops nearby, and is in a commercial area. There is a bus into Almeria every 35 minutes (beware, it's often early), but unless you play golf there is not a great deal to do. The area is nowhere near so touristy as, say, Benidorm or Torremolinos. If you want more activity, maybe look at Roquetas de Mar. No matter, a very nice hotel, pleasant staff, and if you want to just crash out, you'll like it!

    “Brilliant Hotel”

This is a brilliant hotel with lovely staff. My husband had a birthday whilst we were staying, we arrived back at the room to be greeted with a bottle of Cava in the fridge, two glasses and a birthday card. A very thoughtful touch.

“Family Stay with two kids aged 6 and 7”

Fabulous hotel, lovely pools. Food outstanding as was the kid entertainment. We went half board and despite buying lunch some days in the bar area we felt the food was great quality and not over-priced. Staff helped us when we requested a room change, due to being adjacent to the disco at night. The kids team were very flexible and it seemed as if each one personally tried to make each kids stay special. Despite being the only English kids at the club that week our two enjoyed going and loved the entertainment each day and night. The pools were fabulous and aqua aerobics sessions were good each day. Meals were wonderful and the best we've experienced on a HB stay - which is saying something!!

    “Lovely family holiday”

We stayed here as a family with 2 adults, 2 young children, plus gran in 2 rooms. The hotel was great, rooms were large and easily accommodated a cot as well as the fold out sofa bed. There was also a spacious balcony. We had a side sea view. Our bathroom was a little tired but the other room was fine. Pools were great for young children with a children's splash pool as well as 2 of the main pools very gently sloping into the water making it ideal for them to splash and play safely. We were half board and found the food fantastic. Breakfast and dinner buffet were fresh, tasty, regularly topped up and there was also a choice of freshly cooked items. There was an occasional BBQ too. House wine was good and reasonably priced. The only negative for us was that dinner was served quite late which is tricky with young children. We paid for lunch and drinks in the pool bar and found this also to be good food and not too expensive. Portions were large. We looked at the all inclusive food on offer at lunch and were glad we hadn't paid for that option. The meals we paid for were far superior. The beach is a couple of minutes walk in front of the hotel but is stony. There isn't a great deal to do outside of the hotel although we did walk up to the next village and there are some cafes and bars and bikes to hire. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. A big bonus is that it's so close to the airport which is fab for transfers. There was very little aircraft noise though.
