    “Perfect 10 !!”

From the minute we arrived to the time we left we were made to feel at home. I cannot praise the staff enough, nothing was too much trouble!! We chose all inclusive and were glad we did as the food was excellent, fresh fish most meal times. We tried shark, sword fish and many other sea foods which we had never had before, cooked in front of you every night. The choice of puddings was overwhelming but in the best way possible, even had chocolate fondue on the last night!! The pool area was chilled with daytime activities hosted by the animation team who had a varied programme from Spanish lessons to aqua aerobics but they were never pushy with guest who just wanted to relax which is what we did. The beach is 50m away and stretches for miles each way with some lovely bars and restaurants dotted along its edge. Deon the TUI rep was brilliant and was an ever present familiar face for guests who needed advice and we also booked the Guardiana River Cruise (recommended by Deon) which involved eating, drinking and dancing in that order - wonderful day out and not too expensive. The pool bar with its welcome shaded tables has a selection of drinks and snacks for those that are AI, we loved the sparking drink Latino which we fortunately discovered on day one of our holiday. The room we had was 4010 and overlooked the terraces which led down to the pool, the comfiest bed I have ever slept in and the beds were 2 large single together so size was like that of a super king size bed. The drinks that were in the fridge on arrival were included in AI package but I think replacements were chargeable. Air conditioning was great and shower powerful and perfect temperature every time. If you want a relaxing holiday this is the hotel for you, stayed in October so many local shops, restaurants etc. closed for Winter but this was fine by us, for a livelier stay visit in June/July/August. All in all the perfect hotel and it more than lived up to all its 5 star reviews. Gracias!!

    “excellent holiday”

I have just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely hotel - this is an honest review. The hotel staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful, the food is very good with something for everyone and yes i would agree with other reviews that the restaurant is noisy but quite honestly when you book holidays with buffet meals and the hotel caters for so many guests this is to be expected. The hotel is situated across the road from a beautiful beach which has several really nice beach bars/retuarants There is a bus service which runs every hour into Ayemonte which is very nice and from there you can catch a ferry into Portugal - the bus costs 1.30 euro each way and the ferry 1.90 euro each way. If you are planning to go to Seville book a rental car, do not book with the holiday company, we did and spent 3 hours on a coach there and 2 and half hours back with 5 hours in Seville!!! If you are looking for a relaxing break this is the perfect place - the hotel does put on some evening entertainment and the animation team are really good. The only thing i feel is wrong is the safe is not complimentary - 3 euro a day. i would definitely return to this hotel.

    “FAMILY HOLIDAY”

We have been to this location many times but not stayed in this hotel before. We are aware that it is very quiet and not much to do in the resort but if you want to relax and go by the pool or on the beach this is for you. There are a few bars and cafes in the resort and nice chiringitas on the beach. The hotel was very good and we felt it was in a better position than the other resort hotels but both the restaurant and the bar were not big enough although sitting outside is good and covered if the weather is inclement. We would us this hotel again.

    “Fails on the details”

Positives - Good in-house TUI rep - Mostly friendly staff. Some are very helpful - You can change your pool/beach towels as many times as you want. They're included with a deluxe room, and otherwise available for a 10 EUR cash deposit per towel - Good WiFi coverage across main areas, bedrooms and poolside - Recently refurbished - Relatively unspoilt beach behind the hotel. Exit via the back gate that requires a room card, cross a quiet road, and you're there - Sunbeds are rarely a problem by the pool. You can find some at any time of day. In busy times, they'll enforce the 'no reservation' policy - The TVs aren't locked down in hotel mode, so you can plug in your laptop or other video-playing device by HDMI - The day to day cleaning (beds, surfaces, bathroom) is good. They do a later shift in case you're late out, and leave the obvious things very clean - Drinks in the mini fridge are yours. You'll need to pay to restock it (don't, it's all available at the supermarkets) - Only an hour from Faro airport Negatives - Although both Saturday nights the food was fantasic, on several other occasions we had to spit out undercooked fish and meat - Overall, the food was ery bland, and I've had way better breakfasts at Premier Inns. Don't expect Spanish food, except the occasional paella (no chorizo, of course) - Tea making facilities are provided in a Deluxe room, available on request otherwise, but will never be restocked. You'll need to swipe clean mugs from the bar, pocket tea bags at breakfast and buy milk at the supermarket. I was flat out told I couldn't have more than the initial 2 milk pots (the small UHT coffee creamers), even though these cost the hotel less than 5 cents a piece. - Some staff don't know their own rules and prodecures, so I was sent on a couple of wild goose chases - Jellyfish. You might not want to risk swimming, but it does depend on the weather and tide - Boring evening entertainment. Almost exclusively singer + keyboard player combos, singing cheesy classics with poor English accents, and the bizarre wailing woman singing Spanish sounding music with her ~5 year old son dancing on the stage. Even some late night bingo would have been an improvement - Very, very loud evening entertainent. There's no fully escaping it, and it goes ono until 23:30, even when there's no one there listening - About ten rooms actually have a sea view. When you book a sea view room, expect to lean over your balcony to actually see the sea - A lot of rooms don't have a proper balcony, only 'juliette' style doors, and some have none - The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned between guests (or even seasons). The air vent was covered with thick dust. The chair spindles were very dusty. The drying rack on the balcony was so grubby we couldn't use it. - The mini fridge is more of a drinks cooler. I wouldn't keep anything like meat, fish or milk in there - Inconsiderate smokers puffing on their sunbeds, ignoring the no smoking by the pool sign - Inconsiderate guests talking and bashing things at full volume early morning and late evening as theywalk past your room - Some rooms have a flashy new layout, as in the photos, but it's really impractical if one of you wakes up earlier or stays up later than the other, or if you use the toilet when the other is asleep, because half of your bathroom IS the bedroom. These new layout rooms only have showers, no baths. We prefered the room we were moved to (because of the noise) which had a standard en-suite with bath - There are no included drinks at dinner if you're half-board, not even tap water Things to Know - There are two supermarkets very nearby, one by the beach and another a few minutes from the front of the hotel - A deluxe room comes with drinks-making facilities, two pool towels and nicer toiletries - All rooms have a basic hair and body wash provided. If you don't have sensitive skin this will save you some luggage weight - Sunbeds on the beach cost 10 EUR each, per day. Lie on your pool towel instead and buy a beach umbrella with screw attachment for 20 EUR from the local shop - The safe costs 3 EUR per day. Ask for this at checkin. You'll need 20 EUR cash for a deposit - Some rooms have twin single beds, some rooms have a single queen bed. This may be a difference between Deluxe and Standard - Every restaurant we visited served bread and butter after taking the order. This isn't a freebie, so if you don't want to pay for it, just leave it untouched - There's a fantastic restaurant called La Puerta Ancha (LPA) in Ayamonte - We enjoyed the "Blue Lagoon" TUI trip. This is run by "Extremo Ambiente", who do a variety of similar trips. It's only slightly more expensive booking this one through TUI. - If you want to go to Seville, TUI will charge 50 EUR per person for the coach trip. The local tour company charges 25 EUR per person - The sea is very shallow for quite a way, so great for relaxing, but not for swimming. Don't bring your snorkel as there's nothing to see but sand - Late September, the guests are almost exclusively older. It's also a good time for couples to go and relax. During peak there'll be a lot of young families Improvements for the Hotel - 'Please be quiet for your fellow guests' signs around the bedroom areas - Add a No Smoking sign to the No Reserving Sunbeds printout that's all around the pool - Cook the food properly and add some flavour. Guests shouldn't be spitting out undercooked food at a 4* hotel - Provide milk for tea at the tables during breakfast. There were guests everywhere with glasses of milk to pour into their tea. Not so classy

    “Excellent holiday”

WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN TO THIS WONDERFUL HOTEL We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel and if possible ask for a room overlooking the gardens, which were glorious lit at night. The location is excellent for the beach which is perfect for an evening stroll to watch the sunset.
