    “First Club Lessons Part 2”

    2 years ago I wrote a review of my experience of being a member of First Club at the resort and how it had changed in the 3 years of my membership. That review mainly focused on the customer service levels of the staff and the attitudes of the customer service advocates or representatives that are there to hopefully get things done for you on your behalf. The resort is still a wonderful place to visit. It is very quaint and there are a lot of nice fellow members in First Club who like myself enjoy the comradery of belonging to a club. While at the resort we enjoyed excellent service from Jacqueline Basitta in the main buffet and at The First Club beach area bar our favorite bartender Wilton was on duty. Unfortunately there were a few areas where they fell down. The first was the leaking bathroom sink which we reported on day 1, day 2 and day 3. The sink is still leaking onto the floor in room 18302. We spoke to the First Club people 3 times and today I am sure it is still leaking. Secondly I would not eat in the Sports Bar. The birds fly all through there stopping in the open trays of food to eat whatever they can without being shooed away. This is not only annoying but it really is a health hazard. Why there are not lids on all of the chafing dishes is beyond me.......I'm not sure if it was just us but we were constantly wondering why the food was always luke warm in all of the buffets. Thirdly in the First Club, there is a woman whose name I do not know but for the week that I was there I do not think wshe tried to help anyone that came to the desk. She would never make eye contact and people were forced to wait for one of the other 2 girls to assist with them. I would like to thank the team for putting on wonderful Valentine's party for the members on Valentines Day. There was a great musician playing and I think a fun time was had by all. The last thing I will comment on, is that First Club is starting to lose the club feeling. Although I have been told otherwise anyone can purchase both the First Club and Royal Club rooms and amenities at various webservices such as Expdedia and TripCentral and sometimes at a lessor price than what members have had to pay. I met several of those people last week. The fact that this is allowed to occur just diminishes the club feeling for many of us members. In closing I still love going to the resort and seeing the great staff that I have mentioned along with the other members that I have met throughout the years but it just seems that the little things never get answered. They also need to pay more attention to thier current members.

    “Julyay & Jenisfer”

    This place is great! This is our second year in a row vacationing at this resort and we are enjoying it immensely. The accommodations are fantastic and the staff A++! Coming from Chicago where it is currently 0 degrees, they have treated us very well and at only the second day here on this occasion, we are already worlds away from our everyday routine. To top it off, Julay and Jenisfer, in the Premier Level Services Lounge, have been more than brilliant in making us feel at home and well taken care of. Having considered trying another place next year for our “winter thaw out”, they left us deciding there is no reason. See you next year!!

    “4th winter stay”

    We travel a lot (airline staff) : At least 10 times in Punta Cana and 4th time in Occidental Bavaro Punta Cana Just fabulous hotel : clean, competent staff at all levels - good food at the buffet Other restauranst are not worthwhile What a pleasure to take breakfast at seaside Beautiful gardens Superbowl animation : waouhhhhh ! Security at the top A BIG group of Shangai people staying there at that time (!) ;-((( Funny seeing them stucked always in row !

    “PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE :(”

    This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. At arrival, the check in line was over 2 hours just to be told that expedia/ travelocity clients are "VIP" and can walk over to a desk with no line and no signs posted to do so. Most of the restaurants were closed in between lunch and dinner when I arrived after waiting 2 hours, luckily I was offered a meal from Fausto (after I explained what I just went through and how it was my birthday) the restaurant manager who was the nicest person on this entire resort. The food here is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING, the only thing I have eaten is papaya from the buffet since I have arrived. I have left the resort every day because it is that bad. The night of my actual birthday, my entire closet flooded from upstairs with all of my belongings inside. I called guest services and spoke with the supervisor William who was EXTREMELY RUDE. He offered me a room change, didn't bring plastic bags, towels or anything. The room I was moved to smells like mold, is full of mosquitos, and has hair all over the place. There was people screaming at their crying children in their rooms at 1am and I couldn't sleep. I am traveling alone otherwise I would have left in the middle of the night when all of this happened. I cannot get a hold of any manager and the hotel actually hung up on me and a travelocity agent. All of my belongings are damaged and the hotel has now offered me through travelocity a late check out or dinner at one of their restaurants! You couldn't pay me to eat here or stay here ever again. I have never written a review in my life and I am still on "vacation" as I'm writing this. Pleaseeee pleaseeee pleaseeeee do yourself a favor and find a better hotel. This place is horrible and was the worst birthday experience :(

    It is very good food okey music okey staff okey at lease cleaning people the only thing if you arrive at any time expect long waiting time at counter they are so slow it took one hour and half just to get to counter reception and also make sure you bring a WiFi box because here is not free and expensive
