    “Royal is the way to go!”

    We are OVC Royal Club Members and mostly enjoyed our stay this June! I want to point out all of the great, good, and not so good. 1. Beach is wonderful and there was plenty of space under the cabanas each day arriving between 10:30am-11:30am. 2. Beach bar was very good providing top shelf liquor. It would be nice if the hours were extended to Midnight. 3. Royal Club Restaurant was also very good. 4. Lobby bar service was awful! If you want to drink in the lobby, you have to go to the bar which is very crowded. We should have stayed in Royal. 5. More wait staff should be assigned to the show to provide drinks. In past years this was the case. This year, we had to constantly provide tips in order to get drinks and the bartender was honestly rude most nights. However, the shows we saw were excellent! 6. Having an internet code for 1 device per person can be difficult to manage especially if you have some work to do. I think for Royal, you should get at least 2 per person. 7. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was probably very old as it just sagged in the middle completely. 8. The Royal Club Pool was very nice and mostly empty when we were there. 9. Beach Club service was very good for lunch. 10. Stop the madness of trying to sell to Royal Club members. It is completely unfair to interrupt our vacation wasting time tracking us down. We won't talk to you again! I refuse to spend another minute in that sales room!! It's harassment!! 11. My daughter and I were bitten terribly by what we think were sand fleas. Our legs, ankles, and feet was bitten and it was extremely itchy. 12. The maids did a very nice job each day! 13. Lastly, we all got some type of gastro illness. My daughter spent 1 full night throwing up and in the bathroom, followed by my husband for 1 full day and me for 1/2 day. We are still feeling the effects but we are unsure of what caused this. Is the water truly filtered well? I will always ask for bottled only from now on because I don't trust what they pour from their filtered supply. Though there are negative points in this review, we did mostly enjoy ourselves which is why I gave this a 4 star rating. However, I hope I am pointing out some things that Occidental can work on to improve in the future.

    “Bad service, bad food!”

    I stayed for a week, the service was poor, the food, drinks poor quality, in the room I had mosquitoes, smell like humidity, the a / c did not work well and they did not care to fixed it. we had to ask for everything several times. Very disappointed in the service and attention. I do not plan to go back, the WiFi is not included and the connection is the worst! The only positive things about the hotel is the beach is beautiful and good show at night! The rest is just very bad experience.

    “40th birthday trip June 2018”

    We did the royal level. It's the only way to go. You have your own pool, beach bar with top shelf liquor and private restaurant. Samuel Zaiz, Diego amparo and Daniel peguero were so friendly and professional. They were like family by the end of the trip! We ate all our meals here. The beach was beautiful and sitting under palm trees with the wind blowing was awesome. If you run into Hector on the beach. He is legit. We did 3 excursions . Dune buggies were my favorite.

    “Another amazing birthday trip to Occidental Punta Cana ”

    Just spent another wonderful relaxing week at occidental Punta Cana ,Royal level. I can’t begin to tell you how much we love this gem. From the time you arrive you are treated like royalty. Wisked away in a cart to the private check in,with champagne and absolutely no wait line. After a few minutes you are taken to your room,this year we had 20,107 and it was a wonderful room complete with sitting area, beautiful bathroom with rain shower head and a huge balcony with jacuzzi. The private beach is gorgeous with lots of shades and mature palms, the beach bar is a great place to meet new friends and enjoy some cocktails. The bartenders are fantastic and make some great drinks always laughing and smiling. The Royal restaurant is always top notch, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You dine in a lovely AC restaurant and we once again enjoyed every meal eaten there. The staff are friendly attentive and remember you from year to year. Your wine glass is never empty and they go way beyond to get you whatever you ask for. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet this year and ate outdoors on the patio every day. Fresh juice, fruits, cheeses, pastries, cappuccino just to mention a few choices. We did eat at the Italian restaurant, steak house, and Mexican this year and all 3 were also fantastic. I just love this hotel and can’t wait to spend my birthday here again next year.

    “Nice hotel”

    Overall of the hotel is good there are some bad thing like the staff dont leave you along about signing up for vip or club, the shower was alittle weak. The pool and shows are amazing food was very good. Hotel room was cozy and it comes with 2 sofa.
